Just had a great chilled weekend at this animal related CL. We were welcomed with half a dozen eggs by the owner who explained about the local area and the rescue animals she keeps.
There is a pub in the village as you turn right from the site and also another approximately 1.2 miles away if you turn left.
Pat is obviously a very caring animal person who welcomes campers to the CL to support her rescues and will give a guided tour of the animals, well worth a visit!
Excellent CL site
Just returned from five nights at this rural site. Welcoming owners who are knowledgeable about the area. Ideal base for exploring. Looking forward to returning next year. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Lovely site
Little gem of a site. Loved the tour of the farm and meeting the animals, including a menagerie of rescues. The owners are so friendly and accommodating, nothing too much trouble.
The site is a 10 minute walk from the village which has a Co-op/Post Office, pharmacy and dog friendly pub with a couple of good real ales. Delamere Forest is an enjoyable walk, either via back lanes or bridal/footpaths.
Would recommend - and will return. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Peaceful and scenic
We stayed for three nights but had circumstances been different we would have stayed longer A warm welcome was given to us plus half a dozen eggs by Pat her enthusiasm considering it was raining was lovely she explained all about the site and area .
The site was on grass even and plenty of space water point and power.the location was slightly tricky to get to down a narrow country lane but well worth the effort. You could look around the farm there was horses , calf’s , pigs and other livestock a full working farm . Dogs were welcome on leads ( working farm) so all in all I would certainly recommend this location to everyone.Having said that am i shooting myself in the foot here I wish to return not to find it fully booked 🤪🤪 thank you for a nice stay
Genuine welcome and great CL
Just stayed here for 2 nights and would happily have stayed for longer if our plans had allowed. The site is so quiet and Pat and Chris are so welcoming although they are clearly very busy with everything they take time to explain all about the farm and the animals.
Easy access to all of the North West and even into North Wales for anyone wanting to use the site as a base or as a stop off on route to elsewhere.
We would definitely recommend this CL and we'll definitely be going back.
Relaxing place
A great place to stay and a good base for exploring lots of places. This site is level and well drained.
Pat very informative on the local area.
It's was good to hear all about their lives on the farm and their daily tasks.
Good to see all the rescue animals and how they arrived with Pat.

Peace and recharge batteries
We only intended to stay one night, but extended it to two as it’s such a lovely place here. It it just a field with water and hook up, but the place is so calming. We were surrounded by fields of sheep, cows and horses who add to the ambience! We had a warm welcome from Pat and Chris plus other folk caring for the animals! The Co-op is a 5 minute bke ride away and well-stocked, and there is a pub too. We chose this site as there is a great cycle ride to to Delamere Forest which we thoroughly enjoyed. This is a working farm, so be prepared to feel guilty when relaxing whilst the farmers are getting the hay in and working so hard! We even got a box of fresh eggs. Will be back next time we come his way!
Great stay, welcoming hosts
We just enjoyed a beautiful relaxing weekend at this CL site. On arrival the owners greeted us with some info on the site and activities in the surrounding area along with some fresh eggs.
The owners are always nearby working on the farm if you need anything and are very welcoming and helpful. The owners offer a tour of the farm which we didn't get time to do unfortunately however we will be returning and look forward to enjoying the tour next time as the information pack states there are some rescue animals on the farm to meet.
Fantastic stay overall.
Relaxing Times Down on the Farm
We are just coming to the end of our 7 night stay on one of the most tranquil relaxing and welcoming sites we have stayed on. The owners Chris and Patricia are the loveliest people with a real passion for all the animals cared for on the farm. Patricia's farm tour was an absolute joy for our 2 visiting Grandchildren who had the best time, holding chickens, stroking giant rabbits and getting to groom the sweetest litte ponies. The site is situated in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, far enough away from busy roads but only a short 20 minutes drive into Chester.
Be prepared when you visit Down on the Farm to have one of the most relaxing, peaceful and restful times. This is one of those little gems which would appeal to all ages with loads of space for children to play safely and for adults to sit down relax and take in the fresh air and views.
I cannot recommend this site and overall experience enough and we will definitely be returning in the future.
Great stay, beautiful views, very helpful owners
We had a really nice stay at Down on the Farm. We were welcomed by the owners with freshly laid eggs and a list of things to do and places to go.
The animals on the farm are all chilled and didn’t mind the children going near them or stroking them.
The owners don’t stop, they’re constantly working on the farm but made time to give us a tour of the farm with plenty of animals and opportunities for our children (1&3) to hold some of the animals.
There are no toilets or showers, however we weren’t put off.
Highly recommend Down on the Farm, we will be back.
