A lovely spot for an Autumn break

We've just spent 3 nights at this lovely little site. We were met by Christopher on his tractor who kindly suggested we park the 'van next to the hardstanding area. This made a huge difference of keeping the floors clean. The gift of half a dozen eggs and a useful welcome letter was a really nice touch. Patricia met us later and gave us some good ideas for walks nearby. It's a really handy spot to explore local places such as Delamere Forest, which is in walking distance, and the Anderton Boat Lift is just a short drive. Both are great for dog walking which is a must for us. The local village has a well stocked Co-op / Post Office and a pub. We can definitely recommend the site, although we did almost drive past as there isn't a CL sign up yet, so you need to be on the look out for the entrance.

Open friendly site

We were made very welcome by Chris and Patricia and were delighted to receive a gift of 6 freshly laid eggs. The field was large, mainly flat and well mown with easy access to water and waste disposal. There were plenty of animals to see and we enjoyed a free farm tour including the opportunity to stroke some of the animals and hold a cockerel. The owners were very attentive and helpful throughout. We discovered some interesting walks from the site including down to the river and also enjoyed nearby Delamere Forest. The approach road was rather narrow but otherwise this is a lovely CL and well worth staying on.

PERFECT

Just returned home from this lovely CL. Not a lot I can add to the previous reviews which describe it perfectly. We absolutely loved it - the owners Chris and Pat work so hard and yet take the time to welcome the guests and could not be more helpful. When you consider that they have only been open a few weeks, they are remarkable. We loved being being able to visit all the animals and have an insight into life on a farm. Can't wait to return and cannot recommend this CL highly enough. Also it was so nice to meet the chickens who provided our eggs.

How Lovely!

We've just stayed 8 nights in total. Welcoming, peaceful, relaxing, with engaging owners, it's a star of a CL. Plenty to do if you wish - Delamere Forest for walking/cycling, a day in Liverpool, walks from the site are all good examples. Plenty of space on the CL too to spread out. There's even some very unobtrusive plane spotting, twice in the distance we saw a Beluga Airbus approaching Chester Airport. There are some very charismatic horses and animals which add to the experience, particularly if you have children. So privileged to stay here and also to see how recreational activities can support rural activities.

A little gem of a CL

This is truly a GEM of a CL site situated in the Cheshire countryside, the owners where so welcoming bringing fresh eggs and offering a tour around the petting corner of rescued animals the children loved the lop eared rabbits, what it lacks in facilities it more than makes up for in tranquility, welcome and location. A return is already planned

Lovely CL

Down on the farm...Willow tree cottage CL Stayed on this new CL this weekend. Easy to book and great directions from Mark beforehand. It is down a quiet, narrow lane but there are some passing places. A friendly welcome from Chris and Pat who also provided information on places to visit, where to eat locally and ideas for walks of various lengths. The field is large and mostly level with well spaced EHU’s. There are 2 water points and an Elsan point. Lovely to watch the ponies in the adjacent field. There is also a large field for dogs where you can let them have a run. Already booked to go back which says it all really!

Fabulous new CL

What a little gem this new site is. So welcoming and perfectly based for exploring the local area. Great for cycling and walking even though we didn’t take our bikes this time, we just needed a relaxing break. There are plans to expand the facilities and make the site really family friendly. Definitely recommended and plenty of room for an autumn break. We will definitely be returning.

Wonderful site

What a very welcoming site .The owners were always about, and so nice. We have just got back after 3 nites and we will definitely be back. They left fresh eggs and a anniversary card on our step on Saturday. Such a lovely touch thank you both This site is lovely.lovely walks and lovely people. They work very hard but always go that extra mile to chat. Am sure this site will be very busy when people go, as everyone will want to return, I have made my apple crumble with the apples you give us. Thank you again and for taking my grandchildren around the farm.. see you soon

A little bit of Heaven Down on the Farm.

Very welcoming, engaging and informative owners. Felt very relaxed on this wonderful rural working farm. The farm has cows, sheep, hens, geese, horses and we are pretty sure it was a donkey ey-oring for attention in the mornings. The owners shared fresh eggs and apples with us (an unexpected but lovely touch) The site itself is a large fairly flat grass field with 5xEHU's - there is plenty of space between pitches, The Red Bull In is a short 0.5mile walk away into the village, as is a fully equipped Spar Shop. Access to Delamere forrest is via a 3 mile walk from the site or a 15 minute drive to the main parking areas. There are also lots of nice local walks too. We will definitely be back
