Well worth a visit

This was the last site visited before we had to give up caravanning, it has very fond memories. The site owners are very helpful and knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble. There is water , drainage and tv point on each pitch which really makes life easy! Plenty of military aircraft to view from both Mildenhall and Lakenheath. Site quite flat and close to amenities, plenty to visit in the area.

Well worth a visit.

We recently had a 4 night stay and on arrival we were met by the owner David who explained the layout of the site and gave us information about the local things to do etc. The site is level grass and as previously mentioned, each pitch has its own water, 10 amp electric, grey waste and tv booster point. I consider it to be a high quality C.L. that we will certainly return to. Access to the site is good and being on sandy soil it is very well drained. Bury St Edmunds, Ely and Thetford are all worth a visit. Aircraft noise from the nearby air bases can be quite loud at certain times but that did not cause us any concerns. We will return and thank you to David for your help and information.

Very friendly site and owner

This is a very friendly and pleasant site. Good level pitches and excellent services. The only down side was the noise from aircraft from local airbases.

A Fantastic CL

Just under a year ago this was our first CL and first trip with a caravan having towed it straight from a dealership to site. David was so welcoming, pleasant, flexible and helpful to us newbies. We came back again last week to celebrate my wife's birthday. Such a great site, great facilities (TV point, water and waste at pitch....if you can line it up no wastemaster needed! The chemical waste is point is the best we have seen, its never a pleasant task but this makes it much easier. It is flat and has well draining grass. It has easy access in and out. The wildlife is just incredible in the morning and evenings. The shed they have put up has a wealth of local leaflets, books, dvds cables, pipes and essentials to borrow whilst on site. They all sell some nice memorabilia. Something to watch for is the 10 Amp limit. So if you a have caravan heater and kettle on it at the same time it can trip, but it is very easy to flick the fuse outside on the hookup back on. We will be returning again as it isn't too far for us and is so relaxing, a weekend feels like a week away.

Relax and enjoy!

Visited here 4-11/5/18 a brilliant CL. David so friendly. Fully serviced pitch is an absolute bonus and flat!. Games, books and spare bits and bobs if you’ve forgotten anything. Lots of birds and some occasional noise from Lakenheath. Hence 4 stars for peaceful! We visited Ely Cathedral, stunning hexagonal tower tour! Walked lots including Lynwood Arboretum in Thetford Forest. Bury is lovely for shopping, cinema and the Abbey Gardens. We will definitely return. Many thanks to David for an excellent CL.

What a lovely hidden gem of a CL

We absolutely enjoyed every moment of our recent weekend on this very well loved and looked after CL. We were able to choose our own pitche completed with grey waste, electric and mains water (what a bonus). The CL is immaculate and well kept with a lovely information room with lots of things in to borrow and buy. The owner is welcoming and friendly and takes care of the site daily. Definitely one of our favourites and will certainly return.

Great CL

Stayed middle of September, it had rained heavily the previous week but the field seemed well drained so no problems there. Lovely CL in good location for days out: close to Airbases at Lakenheath and Mildenhall if you like plane spotting, also near good wildlife reserves such as Lakenheath Fen, Wicken Fen and Welney Wildfowl Trust. Also plentiful supplies of restaurants and takaways. CL itself in quiet location (except for planes, but we don't mind that), fairly flat mown field surrounded by high hedges so sheltered. You conveniently have your own water and grey waste on each pitch and electric point, slightly oddly. down the middle of the field. If you've left anything behind there's lots of equipment you can borrow in the well stocked shed in the corner, plus loo chemicals to purchase, and lots of well organised leaflets for things to do. Chemical waste is very clean and civilised in the next field. No recycling but waste bins kept clean and emptied daily. David the owner is friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome, we will certainly visit again. Only one annoyance, inconsiderate people in the motorhome next door kept leaving their dogs to wander about and poo everwhere, and didn't clear it up !

5 great nights

Visiting friends who had recently moved to Mildenhall so this site was perfect. Met by very friendly owner. All pitches have own water tap & TV point - what a bonus - wish all CL's could supply this. Visited Bury St Edmunds & Ely (and friends) loved our time here & will return when we next visit

what a gem.

We have been to Wildemere on 2 occasions now and cant fault it,you sometimes get a few jets from one of the 2 nearby bases but not a problem.the welcome from David is second to none and he makes you very welcome and fills you in on all things local.we stayed again last September for 10 days and it was excellent.the on site facilities are excellent, the farm cat decided to visit daily for a snack or treat,or to eat our german shepherds left overs, even inviting himself in with us and the dog when it rained, making himself comfy on the settee,he is getting on a bit so we hope he will still be around when we visit this year in sept again.we will book shortly and look foreward to meeting you again David. One of the best

Location is great and the CL is easily accessible. Plenty of space on the CL and very good facilities for water, EHU and waste water.  We also like the Mildenhall club site ... going to be stuck for choice now, but will probably check this CL out first in the future!
