peaceful site

As per previous reviews the toilets and shower block are outstanding but access can be difficult for those with mobility problems as there are a number of steps to negotiate. The hardstanding is very level, we did not need levelling blocks at all and each pitch has its own electric and water tap. We chose this site as it was close to bus and public house as we intended to park up and walk or bus everywhere but in reality this was not feasible. Yes the bus and pub are close by but what isn't stated is that it entails a walk along a very busy road with no footpath. We set out for the pub the first day but felt so unsafe we had to return to the campsite and use the mtorhome to get everywhere which was not the break we had planned. So anyone with similar plans as ours beware there is a very dangerous road to negotiate.

A first class CL

We have visited this site a few times and always get a warm welcome. The facilities are all anyone could ask for ...water, electric and waste on your hardstanding pitch. The showers are spacious and warm with a never ending supply of hot water. There are 2 seperate toilets which along with the showers are clean and well kept. Our grandson loves to visit . Nicky has endless patience allowing the children to help and showing them around this working farm. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and they are always willing to try and give any help required .

Ten night stay in November

We telephoned in September and booked to stay for 10 nights on this small CL in rural North Devon. The location was perfect for exploring North Devon including walks at Watersmeet, Heddons Valley, Dunster, Ilfracombe, Westlandpound Reservoir, Combe Martin and Arlington Court which were all close by and highlights of our trip. The hardstanding pitches are slightly overgrown, and some searching was needed to locate the drainage point. The CL is in need of some TLC, the ‘older’ facilities remain outside the door to the ‘newer’ toilets, showers and laundry facilities which have been constructed inside a partitioned section of the large barn. The toilets (2no), showers (2no) and laundry facilities were not clean or provided with any toilet rolls on our arrival, and were not cleaned or provided with toilet rolls throughout our stay! We did see the owner (Nicky) on arrival and when we paid, but not ‘actively’ engaged with arrival/departure or information. This CL may have a more focused owner/manager during the peak summer season, but is not being given the attention it deserves and requires during the ‘off-season’. A basic CL in a rural location

best CL ever!

This had to be the best equipped and convenient CL we have visited in nearly 10 years of touring caravanning! Excellent access, level hard standing, serviced pitches, excellent TV and mobile reception, conveniently sited chemical disposal and a centrally heated shower/toilet facility. Farm produce for sale, including "collect-your-own", freshly-laid eggs! Also, being able to pay our deposit and fees by internet Bank transfer. Very highly recommended.

We had a lovely couple of days here.

Had a great stay for 2 days. Nothing was too much trouble. They even loaned us a gas bottle when ours ran out! Toilets and showers were very good. Excellent additional facilities for those who need them including laundry facilities and the availability of eggs, bacon and sausages.

A lovel

Just returned from 4 nights at Westland Farm. A lovely CL with all the facilities you could want. Electric, water and grey waste on all pitches. Hot showers with separate toilets and a laundry room. Even fresh eggs from the chickens. A warm welcome from Nikki made our stay really good. The only downfall is the road noise but it dies quieten during the night hours. The views are lovely from the elevated position, and ease of entry from the road made entry and exit a doddle, sometimes CLs are down windy tracks. We had a great time exploring Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. We will return next year.

Nice stay

Stayed the one night not booked just came across it off main road, excellent views, pitches are not large but reasonable, the facilities are excellent with clean showers and toilets and laundry room. Fresh eggs for sale. Site on bus route to Lynton/Lynmouth/Barnstaple 310 service. It was an enjoyable peaceful stay. Certainly one we would return you when next in the area.

Just perfect

We arrived last Saturday Andrew helped us pitch the van Nikki offered drinks what more can you ask? We did not need to ask our two grandchildren got there breakfast from the chickens each morning Nikki took them round their working farm as she worked showing them what life can be like they loved it especially as the weather was not to good. There are ,3 large showers and sperate toilets which is heated through out. The girls would leave their water shoes on the radiator over night to dry . The pitches are level with there own tap the electric is 16 amp. I would recommend this site for couples and families alike. Yes it is on a main road but we never really noticed any noise this could be because we live near a road ourselves but who don't these days. Thanks Andy & Nikki you made our rainy holiday will return soon.

Sick stopover...

We stayed here last week for one night. Good with the hard standings. Shame about the noisy main road very close by and the inconsiderate van owners who let their 3 dogs run around an 'pooh' everywhere. How incondiserate. (Non of this Nicky's fault who was very pleasant and helpful).
