A GREAT STAY

I agree all the positive comments that have been made about this lovely site. The CAMC handbook states the EHUs are 6A. This is a typo. They are 16A. The route in from the south through Clun is OK for campervans and small motorhomes but not for large motorhomes or caravans. A pleasant short walk into Bishop's Castle where there are a range of facilities. A longer but equally good walk to Clun which also has a couple of cafes and shops.

Plenty of Walking from this site

We stayed here mid August at a mid point for our journey from Berwick to Plymouth. Very quiet and flat field with service point at the far end. We had a great welcome from our host who gave us all the info we needed. Plenty of walking to be had and a great site for staying near Bishops Castle. Thank you (Belatedly!)

Delightfully idyllic

I really don't know where to start! Perhaps on arrival, where we were met at the gate by Bruce and Anne? We were a little late but they had waited for us, armed with local leaflets and warm smiles. We were directed to the biggest pitch we have ever seen where, whichever way you parked there is a view! ! This is a site made in heaven. Water, elsan, grey waste disposal, general waste and recycling are available together with hen and duck eggs (very reasonably priced). Anne usually has her homemade goat's cheese for sale but the goats had been a bit reluctant during our stay! The site is immaculate, there is even a designated 'dog walk' along one hedge. Our hosts' local knowledge is freely given which is invaluable. There is a lovely footpath into Bishop's Castle along the Shropshire Way The site is ideal for touring South Shropshire. We travelled about by bicycle and foot; there are some splendid trails and footpaths, with the Long Mynd not far away. The Kerry Ridgeway starts in the town; the views from this fantastic drover's path are magnificent the further you go. The village of Clun with it's ruined castle and very nice tea rooms is four miles down the road. Anne and Bruce deserve every success with this venture: we will definitely go back.

A fantastic peaceful well maintained location.

We were welcomed by Bruce when we arrived and he gave us loads of information about the site and surrounding area. The site is immaculate and there is lots of space for each of the 5 spots. A very quiet location but within a 20min walk to Bishops Castle via a number of fields with one stile we had to carry our dog over. Anne came over later and gave us a load of information on walks (including maps) and other details. If you are in the area this is definitely worth a stop.

Great find

We had one night here en route home but wished we’d been able to stay for more in this lovely green field. It was so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside on a quiet lane. The Shropshire Way and Offas Dyke paths are 5 minutes away over the lane and give access to many walks. Bruce and Anne couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. Everything is well organised and clean, water tap, grey water draining and a discreet chemical loo emptying point. Eggs, goats milk and cheese sold at the gate. Lovely pubs in Bishops Castle. No hesitation in recommending!

What a great place !

We booked in for 5 nights in August 2020 but extended our stay another 2 nights. What a great place this is. Plots really are huge and the whole field is well laid out and maintained. The owners met us at the entrance and they are a lovely couple. Always on hand for help / advice / information but not intrusive. They were ever so helpfull. The views are great, the peace is beautiful and the sound of the birds lovely. The goats and sheep are friendly and the horse in the adjoining field entertaining. The site is about a ten minute cycle ride from Bishops Castle with a choice of pubs and cafes - something to suit all tastes. We didnt walk into town but I guess it would take about 30 minutes. There are lovely walks to do starting from your front door and cycling is good on quiet roads and lanes (even the 'main' road is quiet). Very 'covid aware' at this time and we felt very safe both on the site and in the general area which was very quiet with not many people about. We have no hesitation in recommending this site if you want peace and quiet. We WILL be back !

The dream.

This site is easily the best site we've ever been to. Tranquil, loads of space, friendly and accommodating hosts (Bruce and Anne also make delicious goats cheese, and sell duck eggs), great location for exploring an underrated part of the country.

What a find

What a find 😊 Just spent two nights here and couldn’t be more relaxed. The area is very green with rolling hills and good relaxing walking and are within 30 minute walk from Bishops Castle which has loads of coffee shops, artisan shops, pubs etc To clear the site has no facilities so you need to use your own and the ehu is limited to 6amp We were met at the entrance by the owners (who are lovely) who welcomed us (socially distanced) and explained the layout of the site. The entrance is plenty wide enough for even the largest Motorhome/caravan and is clearly marked from the road by a flag. The site is all grass apart from the entrance and is kept lovely and short. The five ehu’s are clearly marked and each plot is mown shorter than the rest of the site for clarity. The plots are huge and the owners are very relaxed about which way you park your units as long as they are within the plot The site is very dog friendly but with the usual rules for everyone’s benefits and with a dedicated dog walking area. The site is also a Mecca for wildlife and we spent hours watching the Red kites, buzzards and swifts Fantastic little place that is very relaxing....we will be back 👍

A new site and what an amazing find!

Warm and friendly welcome from Bruce and Ann. Lovely spacious field surrounded by some of The Shropshire Hills - great views and probably the biggest pitch we’ve had anywhere! Everything clean, tidy and well organised. We bought eggs and cheese from the owners. Superb walking and cycling from the site. We’ll definitely be back.

Great new site.

Spacious pitches with welcoming hosts. Good communication from the hosts who are very helpful. Good walking and town near by. New site with good views and produce for sale from the farm. Grass pitches with hookups. Field is well mown in a tranquil location.
