Absolutely lovely site

We have stayed on this site for many years and each time have had a really good holiday, the road running beside site never has bothered us, love the sound of the train passing, we always feel very relaxed and feel that it is very secure there. Owners are very friendly. Very peaceful holiday.

Idyllic

This is a fabulous site. Peaceful, friendly owners, lots of good walks direct from the site, superb views, easy strolling along the canal with pubs en route. We loved our few days and we have booked again.

What a great find

This site is great for adults who do not need fussing, the owners are very friendly but unobtrusive. The farm fields are particularly good for dog walking with a wide path left at the edge. Fresh eggs are available each day. The Pewsey Heritage centre is well worth a visit. WARNING If you are using the snooper sat nav with the programed site directions ignore the last one to turn right and continue straight on and the site is on the right. Better still use the book directions. We will definitely use the site again.

A do it yourself site!

We stayed on this site early Sept. 2015. The site is very convenient for many sites including Stonehenge, Avebury ring, High Claire castle. It is unusual as it has no entrance as such and a Minor road running alongside so not suitable for children. It has a beautiful view across woodland and hills. The mainline London train runs about 200 yards away but the noise from the frequent trains is not very obtrusive. The site hut is in a poor state and needs clearing of junk. The owners seem very laid back, no welcome, no information pack and had to seek them out in order to pay! Having said that we would certainly use the site again and would recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet country site with open views.

Peaceful Farm CL Site

My wife and I have visited this site for weekend breaks a number of times over the last few years, the last weekend being 31st October 2015 and were extremely surprised at the comments made by ‘Mercedes62’ on 22.10.2015. Yes, this is a working farm and there is an access drive alongside the Site and a railway line not so far away, but these are not intrusive during the day and my wife is a ‘light sleeper’ and has never been disturbed at night. We have been on this Site with 5 vans and there is plenty of room. I would describe this CL Site as everything you would expect from good CL Site. We will be back and would visit more often if it were not so far from our home.  Steven Smart stevensmart46a@Hotmail.com

A peaceful site in a beautiful area

My wife and I, together with our greyhound Leo, stayed at Totteridge Farm over the weekend 16-19th October 2015, the same weekend as the previous reviewers, our experience could not be more different. True, the farm access road ran alongside the "grass verge" and, strangely enough farm traffic and walkers did use it. However, over the weekend five caravans plus cars pitched up and had more than ample room, the services were very good and the owner was a delightful lady. This site is in a military training area and, from time to time there will be some inconvenience, when we arrived we were informed by a lady that she and her husband had to move their caravan because of the noise the previous night from military helicopters, I fail to see what moving approximately 150metres along the site could possibly achieve. We were more than happy with the location and had absolutely no fears for the security of our caravan when we were off site. I would definitely recommend this site to others. We will certainly return

Disappointing

Having seen the photos and read the reviews, we booked a four night stay here. Not wanting to be unfair, we found the views were quite nice but the photos are misleading and you aren't actually on a field but a large grass verge, which is almost triangular in shape and probably no more than 70 to 80ft at its widest. There is an access road running through to the farm and beyond, which we found noisy and intrusive, with cars, horse boxes, tractors and dog walkers making it quite busy. Also we felt it could be a security issue. Maybe we were just unlucky but the noise from the high speed train at the bottom of the valley and the army helicopter maneuvers overhead the first night made it feel like something out of Apocalypse now, although the following three nights were quieter. Its a shame, because without the road it would be relatively peaceful. The owners were friendly and helpful  but I don't think we would go back or recommend to anyone.

A nice quiet site on a working farm

A great place to stay, albeit quite a distance from the farmhouse. We had 12 nights here covering a family wedding. Friendly locals, and farm staff made it a pleasure to be here. The grass is kept cut and tidy, and facilities are very good, especially the fresh eggs! My only very minor criticism would be it would have been nice to have information about the vineyard. or any other produce from the farm. We will be back.
