October half term

Easy access to this site although a little muddy from recent rain. We stayed on one of the hard stands as it was October and the ground was very wet. Good level pitch. Toilet & shower block were very clean. The location is perfect for easy access to Dorchester & Weymouth (bike path all the way in both directions). Lovely walks to Maiden Castle and a very tasty lunch at a nearby pub (the Brewers Arms). We also used the bus service to Weymouth (bus stop about 10 mins walk). We had a quiet, relaxing stay (5 nights). It is a working farm so there was the odd tractor coming and going. We cycled to Tesco for supplies - 10 mins by bike. We also had a lovely coffee in the Pig Shed just across the main road from the site. We would definitely use this site again.

Just One Night.

Only booked in for one night on our way to Weymouth for a rally, stayed on one of the hardstandings as suggested by Judy by e-mail as it had been raining during the night before, lovely gesture, spoke with Judy that evening and had a lovely chat. The facilities were spot on and we will definitely use again if we are down this way in the future.

Charming CL, good location,well maintained.

Arrived and were 5th people so had to have pitch that was left... no problem.. All would have been fine. A few minutes to Dorch and A35 so good links to area. Shower and toilet clean and good quality. Walk within seconds onto sides of Maiden Castle. 50 mins around the top and back. Golf nearby. Just right, all round.

Wonderful find

On our tour of Dorset we had not pre-booked anywhere so whilst near Dorchester we rung Judy who luckily had a pitch for us. We thought hardstanding at first but on arrival realised the grass pitches were so well kept that we pitched on there instead. The toilet/shower facilities were the best we had come across on this tour. Would recommend this site to everyone.

Hard standing!

When we arrived it had been raining very heavily for several hours, so we're delighted with Judith's offer of hard standing. This is our 3rd or 4th stay here, and can truly recommend it. Excellent facilities, very peaceful and yet convenient for Dorchester. Will definitely stay again.

Nice welcome

Stayed 2 nights as we needed to be in area. Had a nice welcome and were given all information we needed. For us it wasn’t so peaceful as the traffic noise was quite loud. Others might not worry - we live in a very quiet location. I did feel rather penned in as the CL is quite compact. We did have a view up the hill from where we were, but vans on other side didn’t. Would have hated being on end pitch right next to farmyard. There were clouds of dust from there and entrance road as it was very dry. No comment on shower etc as we didn’t go in there. Good location for getting about. Cycle paths to and around Weymouth in abundance. Central location. Ok for a need but not one for us to return to. Sorry x

Lovely CL

Stayed for 2 nights midweek 4 of the 5 pitches already taken so we made it 5 .Judy came over to meet us while we were starting to set up and explain to us where everything was and where we could walk our 2 dogs then left us to settle in.It is a working farm so expect some noise from this but it never disturbed us at all.we didn’t venture out from site only to walk dogs but plenty of places within easy reach. Overall we had a very pleasant 2 nights of relaxing in a nice environment Would we use this site again? Yes we would .

Perfect CL

Second visit here, stayed two nights on this occasion from 15/7. Very friendly, accommodating and peaceful site with full waste, fresh water, WC's and shower. Local buses to Dorchester and Weymouth short walk as is Maiden Castle. Great cycling area with National Route 26 into Weymouth and beyond to Portland and opposite to Dorchester. Dedicated cycle route put in for 2012 Olympics.

Beautiful little CL

What a fabulous well kept cl, we stayed at the end of May start of June, Judy came and made sure we were settled OK, she was very friendly and helpful with information on the area. The site is over looked by the iron age Maiden Castle, an amazing place to visit with stunning views. The site was quiet and ideally situated for walking into Dorchester and also catching a bus into Weymouth. We would highly recommend this little CL for its location and friendliness of the owner.

Very pleasant stay

Can’t grumble at this CL. The toilet/shower room was very good. I liked how a hose was available for getting water to your unit (although possibly not long enough to get to all pitches) There’s a very informative info hut and a 10 min walk takes you to the bus stops on the main road for Weymouth or Dorchester. You can walk around an Iron Age settlement but there’s nothing else within a close walk. If you like a walk that includes a pub this would be a longer walk than some would want and there’s no villlage shop etc. you are down a quiet country lane with a farm. So whilst there isn’t much around you that’s heaven to some. The host, Judy, popped along a couple of times to make sure all was well. This was a nice stay. Thanks
