Lovely CL

Stayed for 2 nights midweek 4 of the 5 pitches already taken so we made it 5 .Judy came over to meet us while we were starting to set up and explain to us where everything was and where we could walk our 2 dogs then left us to settle in.It is a working farm so expect some noise from this but it never disturbed us at all.we didn’t venture out from site only to walk dogs but plenty of places within easy reach. Overall we had a very pleasant 2 nights of relaxing in a nice environment Would we use this site again? Yes we would .

Perfect CL

Second visit here, stayed two nights on this occasion from 15/7. Very friendly, accommodating and peaceful site with full waste, fresh water, WC's and shower. Local buses to Dorchester and Weymouth short walk as is Maiden Castle. Great cycling area with National Route 26 into Weymouth and beyond to Portland and opposite to Dorchester. Dedicated cycle route put in for 2012 Olympics.

Beautiful little CL

What a fabulous well kept cl, we stayed at the end of May start of June, Judy came and made sure we were settled OK, she was very friendly and helpful with information on the area. The site is over looked by the iron age Maiden Castle, an amazing place to visit with stunning views. The site was quiet and ideally situated for walking into Dorchester and also catching a bus into Weymouth. We would highly recommend this little CL for its location and friendliness of the owner.

Very pleasant stay

Can’t grumble at this CL. The toilet/shower room was very good. I liked how a hose was available for getting water to your unit (although possibly not long enough to get to all pitches) There’s a very informative info hut and a 10 min walk takes you to the bus stops on the main road for Weymouth or Dorchester. You can walk around an Iron Age settlement but there’s nothing else within a close walk. If you like a walk that includes a pub this would be a longer walk than some would want and there’s no villlage shop etc. you are down a quiet country lane with a farm. So whilst there isn’t much around you that’s heaven to some. The host, Judy, popped along a couple of times to make sure all was well. This was a nice stay. Thanks

Beautiful well kept site

What a beautiful little site. Judy is such a lovely lady and her husband too. Nice pitches with grass kept nice and short. Nice little information hut with everything you need to know. Showers and toilets spotless. This is a working farm but to be honest we didn’t notice any noise at all. Lovely and peaceful with nice walks near by. Nice walk up to Maiden Castle. Lovely wee church in the hamlet too. Easy access from A354 and access to side easy too. Nice and central to where we were needing to visit. Lovely site and met some lovely people there. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful site with lots of local attractions

We visit this lovely site regularly and always have a great time. There are lots of places to visit. On our last visit we stopped at Portland and had coffee and cake at The Beehive Bakery and Cafe and then hopped on an open top bus. This took us up to Portland Bill. The views on the ride are amazing and we would thoroughly recommend it. If you have bus passes they can be used for the journey.

Lovely well kept site in a peaceful hamlet, with great walks and cycles on doorstep

Lovely 5 well kept pitch grass site for CAMC members with low stone barn converted for excellent toilets and shower. Also 2 h/s pitches nearer the farmyard for winter. Good info hut, and all in lea of Maiden Castle on the horizon to the north. Excellent for walks out to Maiden Castle, and to nearby villages. The site sits within a farm and hamlet with an interesting church, a few cottages, and a lovely stream. Dorchester is an easy cycle, or short direct or longer countryside walk, and then a joy.

Just down the lane

Using the caravan or motorhome this site has it all there's somuch to do. Lovely walks from the site and locally. Frequent Bus service to Dorchester and Weymouth, and onward to Lulworth Bay or Bridport to Lyme Regis, there is even a train to London. The site itself is a gem, just lovely to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The site has all useful amenities, and even hard standing if necesary. A week is never long enough.

Excellent working farm site

This is a special little site, on a working farm but lovely green site with some hard standing, a great welcome but not intrusive at all, very easy access and the little lane approach is not a problem at all, we did not have any problems, we will use again Excellent
