What a wonderful site

This is a wonderful CL which obviously is owned by people who are experienced motorhome/caravan owners as the site has everything you need. Good sized gravel pitches divided by shrubs. Individual electric bollards with lights plus water to the pitch and a security bike rail. There are lovely walks from the site and the local pub offers tasty meals. If visiting in the winter remember a torch as it’s a short but dark walk from the pub. Unfortunately we got rather lost leaving Little Baddow as there was a road closure due to road works and the lanes aren’t well marked/sign posted as well as being fairly narrow in places. However all this does lead to the adventures of driving a motorhome and won’t deter us from returning next year.

A Little Belter!

What a find this site is! We stayed for two nights and had the BEST time! Check in was seamless thanks to Paul’s slick online booking process and excellent communication. The site itself is well kept and spotless, as it’s all brand new with high spec equipment. The pitches are spacious and private, and give you the feeling of being surrounded by nature, whilst only being a five minute walk from an excellent pub/Italian restaurant. My favourite feature of the campsite is the wild flower area which Paul has recently added - a definite hit with the bees and insects! Paul is a genuinely top notch chap, friendly, professional and eager to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. We spent the day at RHS Hyde which was only a short drive away, and did some fabulous walks from the site up to the lock with its tea room. I honestly can’t think of anything that could be improved, and we’re definitely going to return so I can visit the Beth Chatto gardens nearby. A big thumbs up from us!

Lovely quiet stay

We stayed here while visiting relatives nearby and think it’s one of the best sites we’ve stayed on for a long time. It was easy to find, pitches are large and facilities are easy to use. The location has great walks, good pubs and best of all it’s extremely peaceful. We will definitely be returning. David, Carole and Banjo

Perfect for walkers and cyclists all year round.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Courts despite some heavy rain on two days but that is the advantage of staying at an all hardstanding site. Pitches are large and very level and despite being hardstanding are actually pretty peg friendly if you are planning on putting up a full awning like we were. The whole area of Little Baddow and nearby Danbury is crisscrossed with lots of footpaths and bridleways so excellent for walking and cycling. In fact the owner has even gone to the trouble of installing bike racks on each pitch for locking cycles to. The site itself is set in woodland so a brief walk of less than fifty meters will put you in the midst of hilly natural woodland with little noise other than the birdsong. As always I've made a video of the site which can describe it far better than I can in words. https://youtu.be/jFCzw_RSKZo

Over night stay 8th June

Third stay here and it’s an excellent CL in every way. We had bikes with us this time and there are lots of woods to explore, which made our stay even nicer. We received a warm welcome from Paul and his wife as always. This will be a regular stop for us. Steve and Laura

3 night stay with motorhome.

We are a pair of elderly motorhomers and the one mistake I made was not bringing our car, although I had my bike, the site is great for cycle routes. My other half couldn’t go far, although she was more than happy to sit and read. As other reviews Paul the owner is great to talk to, he knows what people want. We walked to the Generals pub to find it closed for the day, next day walked down to the Rodney pub, only just over half a mile, pub was ok but being the steepest hill in Essex took us 30 minutes to climb back. Hope to visit again with the rest of our family.

3 night stay

We booked a 3 night stay and wasn't disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by Paul, the owner. The site is lovely and secluded and the pitches are large and spacious. Definitely recommend The Courts for a peaceful and relaxing break.

Great CL

Spent three nights at The Courts and what a beautiful spot. Although there are no far reaching views the woodland location more than makes up for that. Friendly welcome from Paul on arrival. This is a new CL and Paul has done everything he can to make it lovely. Huge pitches. Walks straight from the site. Would have no hesitation in visiting the site again.

The Courts CL

A lovely immaculate peaceful place to stay. Highly recommended, beautiful woodland walks from the site, and a very helpful owner Paul. We will be back soon.

A Greatly Needed Facility for the Village, and Perfectly Created

We're used to staying on CLs and paying approximately £15 p.n., although the going rate seems to be creeping up to cover energy-costs etc. I was a little apprehensive about paying £30 per night, but booked as it's the only site in the area where we wanted to stay. The site is brand new and maintained pristinely, and must have been a huge investment for the owners, with state-of-the-art fully-serviced pitches, all separated by healthy laurels which will mature into lovely hedges. The location is perfect, on the edge of gorgeous woodland, with both central Danbury and the river Chelmer/Paper Mill Lock less than two miles away (to the south and north) through fabulous woodland/countryside walks. Our 7 nights went far too quickly, and it was a real wrench to drag ourselves away. This is a much-needed facility within the beautiful district of Little Baddow/Danbury, and we will DEFINITELY make time to return at least once a year. It was certainly worth every penny!
