EXCELLENT SITE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We recently visited this beautiful CL and it’s magnificently well maintained (Lucy works tirelessly on her mower to keep it immaculate) the site is all hardstanding and with chemical toilet point, waste and fresh water point. They have some excellent dog walks and just outside the site (around a 15 minute walk) there is a woodland walk exclusive to the CL. I cannot rate this CL highly enough and as such we have booked to come back again in June - I would also add COVID regulations are very good there is sanitiser provided on the CL and COVID protocols are sent by email prior to your visit

An excellent site with great WiFi!

This is a lovely, very well maintained site with easy access to the pitches (Motor mover not required). During our stay Covid restrictions were in place so hand gel station was provided and no contact with owner as you would hope and expect. The WiFi here works really well and is a huge bonus, making the site great value. There are three grass pitches and two hard standing. We had hard standing number 2 which is almost level side-to-side and not far off front to back (makes set-up quicker when it's driving rain!). My only slight criticism is that the hard standing, which is a lovely, free-draining aggregate, is too narrow. The pitch is literally the width of the caravan which means that your water barrels, door step etc are all on the grass which turns into a muddy mess in rain. Wellys are needed at this time of year! A meter wider is all that's needed.

Lovely site, very well maintained

Lovely site, very well maintained. Friendly owners, 2 hardstanding pitches (plans to create 5 hardstanding this winter). Very convenient for Jedburgh (great town). Good walking.

Great CL

We used Bairnkine as a one night stopover. Excellent communication and pre arrival information. Lovely site with 3 grass and 2 hard standing pitches. Situated on a farm. Beautifully kept, great views from all pitches and great walks from the site. Excellent value for money!

A real hidden gem

My first Night as a Club member, Bairnkine did not disappoint. With only five pitches available I was surprised to find one available at very short notice in July. The site is well kept, in stunning countryside and beautiful open views from the pitches. The owners have laid out some lovely walks around the farmland with interesting information on the fauna and flora, though these were limited during my stay due to the pandemic. The only small criticism was the lack of a facility for waste water disposal. With a motorhome I don't carry a portable tank but I can live with that. Very reasonably priced and I will be back

Quiet but quite sloping

This was a typical farm CL, basic and tidy. The grass round the pitches was cut and collected, but not collected on approach to water and waste and bin areas, so cuttings clung to footwear when grass was wet. The site has a double slope - front to back and side to side so a lot of levelling blocks required and on our pitch the back of the caravan was almost touching the ground with the front high in the air. The owners were very busy silaging etc so were not met, and I had to go to the house to pay or probably wouldn't have seen the owner, Lucy was friendly and helpful when we did meet though. It was peaceful and quiet with minimal farm noise with many sheep in the adjacent field - how many? - I fell asleep at 118 !! A good site for a short stay to visit the local towns and walks. Certainly worth the £12 pn fee, and recommend, though you must take alternative pastime to the TV - no signal whatsoever.

Excellent CL in beautiful setting

We enjoyed a super break on this quiet, well run and tidy CL. The waymarked walks on the farm were excellent in addition to walks direct from the site into Jedburgh and surrounding area. We were given a warm welcome by the owners who were friendly and knowledgeable. Remember to read the notice board on arrival which gives useful information about the site. The views from the site were superb. We will definitely return to this site when next in the area. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Fabulous CL Great location

What a fabulous location 3 miles from Jedburgh, great views, lots of wildlife and walks a plenty once lambing has finished in late May. Two hard standing pitches and rest to grass with EHU, water and refuse facilities together with a brick built bbq for visitors use. Birdsong is the main noise heard with occasional working farm sound added to stunning open views are the sites main positives. Lovely warm welcome from Lucy and as we were there in May only main farm tracks available for walking, this still gives plenty of choice but better when wildlife walks are open after lambing finished. I saw Deer, Hare Rabbit and many birds even with dog walking alongside me. Farm mainly sheep with some cattle gives plenty to look at, site well maintained and in good order. Good strong WiFi included in the price. Plenty to do locally our first time at Jedburgh which is a gem of a town with castle dungeons, abbey and Mary Queen of Scots house. Easy MH parking in town too. Good access from A68 too
