Visited in May. Had difficulty pulling into site because of tight access from the road.
Very welcoming and instructions given re water supply. This is the cleanest water pipe area I have ever seen on a site.
given WiFi password but could not access.
Owner maintains site well but van was full of grass cuttings throughout our stay.
Disappointed with extra charge for awning at £2 per night
Lovely site
We stayed at Summertree Farm while visiting family in the area. The site is a huge, level field with loads of room for children to play and is well situated for lots of things to do and places to go. Very welcoming and helpful owners and a very well maintained site.

'Phil's Paradise'
A warm welcome on arrival, lovely flat well mown field with plenty of space for children to play etc.
Good facilities.
Plenty of places to visit with good hosteleries and tea shops.
Close to North Yorks moors railway. Scarborough and Whitby worth a visit too. A friendly pheasant called Phil visits on a daily basis.
Great site
Just spent a couple of nights on this super CL our first experience on a CL, very friendly and welcoming, we were placed on hard standing as the field was a bit spongy for motorhomes.
A great site to access the local attractions, we will be using this site again.
Very helpful - thank you
Having booked a site at the other side of the village and turned away on arrival as it wasn't fit to stay due to the muck of a working farm, we called at Summer Tree farm on the off chance.
Bob was very helpful and friendly, thank you for helping us out. A lovely well kept site handy for Dalby Forest, hopefully will return at some point.

Super Summer tree Farm
We were given a really warm welcome by Bob & Bernadette. The site is beautiful and very well maintained with stunning countryside views. There was ample space for our two boys to ride around on their bikes without obstructing anyone. The fresh laid eggs are amazing if the hens are laying :-) Overall a lovely site close to Thornton Le Dale & Dalby Forrest & local shops. We will definitely be back thanks Bob & Bernadette x
A super CL
I imagine everyone has a vision of their ideal CL. Summertree Farm comes pretty close to matching my ideal vision. Bob and Bernadette are the perfect hosts - a warm greeting, lots of local information, nothing too much trouble but will leave you to relax in peace and quiet once you have settled in. The field is extremely well tended, the grass is kept short, the field is flat with good views and has a very rural feel. There is ample space between pitches, so privacy is not a problem. The facilities are good, clean and well maintained. Some people might feel the toilet is a little remote from the field but that wasn't a problem for us. Access to local places of interest is good. Thornton le Dale is just two miles away, with Whitby, the North York Moors (and railway), Scarborough, Malton and York all easy and very picturesque drives away. A word of warning though, walking and cycling on the road outside the site (to Thornton le Dale) requires care due to lack of a footpath and quite a few bends which hide you from on-coming traffic. Bob and Bernadette do know alternative off-road routes though, so just ask them.
In summary, a great CL, which we would have no hesitation in using again.

Another visit.
This is our second visit this year. It just gets better. Bob keeps the CL looking good, the grass is nice and short, water facilities all on hand, and a re-cycling area as well. Plenty of places too visit whilst in the area, and it is quiet easy too get to the coast. Whitby has a park/ride now, so that makes it a lot better than trying to find parking spaces in the town. Pickering & Thornton-le-Dale still have the appeal for the day trip out. NYMR well worth a visit.
We will be back again.
Ozzie & Flo on tour
This is a brilliant CL. We had booked for three nights but as soon as we met Bob & Bernadette and seen the field we asked for a further three. The grass is kept beautifully short (the moles loved it in our corner). Only point is that I am glad I looked at the Google Maps image before arriving because, approaching from the South, it prompted me to sweep to the right hand side of the road before turning in. Probably only a problem for us as the Defender 110 does not have a great turning circle. The free WiFi is a real bonus - thanks guys. We visited so many places from here including a great walk from Lastingham to Hutton-le-Hole and back, Levisham station for the North Yorks Moors Railway, Helmsley and Thornton-le-Dale. Took some great photos and painted Hutton-le-Hole, Spaunton and Thornton-le-Dale. Bob & Bernadette deserve your support as they are doing a great job so go and stay with them soon.
