Great site

A excellent site with great facilities and access to some good walks exercise out two dogs;a bit muddy at this time of year! A nice quiet retreat once you block out the traffic noise from the A46, it’s nearly inaudible after a while. This was our third visit to the site and we’re planning to come back again in the spring. Electricity is charged on an ‘as you go’ basis, which is an excellent idea, saved us a few quid! Nicola is very welcoming and helpful too. RAF Waddington is close, so the Red Arrows practising will be a regular occurrence. Thoroughly recommend this site, well worth a stay.

What a find!

We have just had 3 nights at this lovely site. Amazing info pre arrival and everything easy when we arrived. Nothing is left to chance , the most thorough info pack we have ever received, Gate code sent in advance, pick your pitch and Nicola popped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The site is a bit further out of Lincoln than we first thought, but , after a 30 min walk to the garden centre, we were able to catch a bus to town where there is everything you would need . We walked to the Whisby Wildlife Trust site and had further walks. The cafe there is brilliant. No toilets or showers on site but we can manage quite well for a short break. There is free wifi which we only used for emails , worked perfectly well for what we needed. Electric is metered which suits us really well as our usage is always low. Fridge on electric. TV, lights and heating over the three days was very good value. We don’t spend much time in our van during the day and don’t leave heating running when we are out! I think metered is the way forward, I’m sure it will make us more aware of what we are using. The site is quite close to the A46 and traffic noise can be heard but didn’t spoil our visit, the plus side of this is the ease of finding site and availability of public transport. This site is a credit to the owners and their hard work is evident. We will certainly be returning.

Lovely site...

A great site. Close to the A46 so access was easy (but not close enough that we were bothered by traffic noise). Very secure with locked gates. Convenient for Lincoln and a fantastic local nature reserve just over a mile away. We especially liked the fact that you could choose whether or not to use the EHU and you paid for the units you used which seems a very fair way of doing it, especially with electricity prices as high as they are. The only disadvantage for us was access on the first day. We'd had 4 emails from the site after we booked, none of which contained the gate code, but this was swiftly resolved. (Have to add that personally, I'd have preferred fewer emails - I'm inundated with work emails! One booking email would have sufficed.) The owner was lovely and was very understanding when we were late leaving, due to problems with our caravan. This is definitely one we'd like to return to - Lincoln is a gorgeous city and there is just SO much to do in the area. All the RAF sites are next on our wish list! Plus we found a particularly good Chinese takeaway nearby.....! A reason to return in itself!

Great place to stay

Easy to find with good secure access. Friendly, helpful welcome from the owner. Prior to arriving Nicola had sent a link to a Digital Guide which had very useful information about the site and local facilities etc. Excellent cycle path in to Lincoln and we used the secure, CCTV covered lockup (as suggested by Nicola) to lock up our e-bikes and explore Lincoln for the day. Good walk round the farm fields. Good serviced hard standing pitches, nicely spaced and with a helpful information hut. Would recommend.

A Late Autumn Break

We have stayed on many CL sites and this is definitely the best yet. The site is beautifully situated on a working farm and has lovely walks across the fields which, if you have dogs, is a welcome bonus. The site is immaculate and there is a great little information hut which provides you with maps and info about the local area as well as having books, games and DVDs to borrow. It is within easy reach of Lincoln and if you are a cyclist you can cycle in on a cycle path. The hosts were most welcoming and helpful. A gem in the Lincolnshire countryside. We will be back.

A Very Warm Welcome

Following our first visit to the site, we had a warm welcome by its owner. All pitches are well set out, clean and spacious with both water and waste plus EHU on all pitches. Excellent area to visit local attractions. We shall certainly be returning in the future.

Lovely CL

We recently stayed on this lovely, well run CL for 21 nights and found it had everything we needed for a great holiday, we mainly cycled direct from the site on to an abundance of quiet country lanes. We tend to cook in the caravan and was able to buy all the food we required locally. As has been said before the owners of the site are very friendly and welcomed us when we arrived and bid us a safe journey when we left. The access to the site is really easy being only a short distance from the A46 , 4 miles further down this road you have all the attractions of Lincoln city. We certainly enjoyed our stay at SkyBarn Farm and would heartily recommend it.

A charming site

Skybarn Farm Site is a lovely CL, it’s well kept. The owners are super and came to say hello when we arrived. There is a good walk from the site. You can hear the cars from the nearby main road, it didn’t bother us too much. We would definitely use this lovely CL site again if we’re in this area.

Great CL

Just spent 4 nights at Skybarn. Approach and security make this CL particularly attractive along with excellent value for the facilities provided. Caravan pitches are well spaced out, and we had great sunshine throughout. Would have booked for longer if it hadn't been fully booked. The walk along the A46 for the bus to Lincoln is just over a mile (stop adjacent to Pennels garden centre and opposite the Brewers Fayre), but worth it to avoid the 5 miles of traffic and parking fees in Lincoln. The walk up to the Cathedral is another fitness test! After a busy day in Lincoln, the Brewers Fayre was ideal for a teatime meal and drink before walking back. Belton House (NT) is worth the drive, and the Downtown Outlet (both near Grantham) is usefully placed for more retail therapy afterwards.

Lovely CL ( visit 5/9/22 to 8/9/22)

The owners really have thought about this site and it shows. From the information provided before arrival, to a welcome visit and a cheerio on departure. On arrival, were not sure being in a big motorhome (which we leave on site), its always a worry that we might be stuck, especially when everyone else here at the same time had a car and caravan, but we are so glad we took a chance. Its a walk to a bus stop, but clear directions and the fact that its along a cycle track made it perfect. Bus into Lincoln bus station very central. Had a full day exploring the beautiful city. Dogs allowed in the Cathedral..amazing ! The next day was a walk to a nature reserve ..lakes and made up paths throughout really lovely. Yes the A46 is busy but we were not put off and as we were out all day the background hum didnt bother us at all. No toilet facilities but we dont need them,(we wouldn’t have used them even if there was), all hardstanding pitches, fully serviced and large . All in all a perfect stay. If you would like to visit Lincoln this gem of a site is ideal.
