Great site and warm welcome

We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2023 and were very impressed with the site - facilities, location and welcome all excellent. As others have said, the booking process and pre-arrival information is superb. We were lucky with the weather so were able to go for a long walk round the farm and to the next village on one day, and in the other direction to Whisby Nature Park on our second day (good cafe). We agree that the electricity metering is a good idea as it gives us options and encourages us all to use less power. We decided to use hook up as an experiment to see how much we used/it cost for a late winter trip - £10.20 for two nights for a 7m motorhome for evening heating, hot water and fridge. It might be more economical to use gas, but we were quite happy with the cost while energy prices are so high. We enjoyed our stay and it worked for us for an early season outing, the hardstanding was reassuring as there was a lot of rain overnight. The view of Lincoln cathedral and the distant Red Arrows display was a bonus!

Always a warm wecome

Visited Sky Barn from 28/3/2023 until 31/3/2023 and as always a warm welcome from Nicola. We have been many times and are never disappointed. The site is immaculate and having a fully serviced pitch is a real help for us ' Oldies ' As mentioned by all reviews lots to see nearby, and as an adults only site, very quiet. We found that each pitch being monitored for their electricity usage is a very fair way of payment as naturally everyone uses different amounts of power. So thank you once again Nicola for making our short break stress free and therefore very enjoyable. Elaine and Dennis

Our return to caravanning after 30 years!

Just had a lovely stay at Skybarn Farm. Haven't been caravanning for nearly 30 years. Booking was easy, lots of information on directions, site security, facilities etc...Site was immaculate, good access road leading to 5 hardstanding pitches all well spaced with their own service bollards. There were shared bins for recycling & toilet waste very discreetly located. Nicola welcomed us & offered help should we need it! There was a nifty information hut - lots of things to do in local area - we took a short drive, had pub lunch & walk on first day & spent second day in Lincoln where we hadn't visited for years & then called at Dambusters Pub in Scampton on way home. Would definitely stay again as well organised site with all services required & friendly, obliging hosts.

Warm Welcome

This has become our go to CL, you are made to feel welcome as soon as you start the booking process. Once you book you feel looked after, everything is so easy and there is so much information. I cannot fault SkyBarn Farm from the warm welcome from Nicola and Richard, safe beautiful location, private space to walk and enjoy the fresh air to Nicola checking in ensuring you have enjoyed your stay. I have to mention the open and honest pricing, we were shocked as to our energy usage ( not the price but the usage) experimenting off grid next time, see how that goes. You will be seeing us a lot this year, Well done Nicola & Richard 👏👏👏👏

Enjoyed our stay!

We rally recommend this site. We stayed for 2 nights in this immaculate CL that has water, electric and a waste water drain in each pitch. The pitches are nicely spaced. It was very quiet although the site is easy access off the main road, no little roads to negotiate. A had a warm, friendly welcome from the owner shortly after we arrived. We have a motorhome and the nearest bus stop was outside a large garden centre, 15 minutes walk from the site on a safe path along the A46. The path is separated from the road by a grass verge. Buses into Lincoln are every 30 minutes. It is an ideal site for visiting this interesting area and we will definitely revisit.

Favourite CL

We have been coming here - for a week each time - for the last 9 years so I think I don't need say any more about how much we like the site, it's thoroughly professional organisation, easy access, excellent security and warm welcome. It really is the standard that all other CLs should strive to achieve. It is the first time, however, that we have experienced metered electricity and I was a bit apprehensive about what the costs would be - so here is our experience: We have a large twin axle Knaus caravan which can be quite 'electricity hungry'! Truma space / water heating plus underfloor heating, electric towel rail, plug in ceramic heater in bathroom (for 10 minutes whilst having a shower), microwave, electric kettle, etc etc. I monitored the electricity consumption during the first 24 hours, using our van as we would normally and during that period we used £10.20 worth of power! It certainly brings it home why CL owners have to do something about prices / consumption if they are to stay in business!! Thereafter, I ran the heating / hot water on gas (we have two Safefills), but used everything else as mentioned above and the average daily electricity cost dropped to just over £5 which is more than acceptable and a 7.5kg Safefill lasted all week with plenty to spare. Of course you have the option to go completely off-grid if you so choose. Hopefully, we will be back again, next year and look forward to catching up with Nicola and Richard again.

Faultless

This is the site that all CL sites should be measured by in respect of welcome, facilities, cleanliness and general tidiness. I challenge to find a fault with any of these, it’s a great base for exploring the area, and terrific if you have a dog with loads of walks on site. Nicola and Richard are two of the most friendly and helpful people you can meet. Yes I’m a fan.

A lovely, well maintained CL site.

This is a lovely site with a super walk around the fields for dog owners. Also, good access for off site walking. We walked to Bassingham from the site and had a great lunch in the Five Bells there. Nicola was very welcoming and has produced a guide book to download, with a wealth of information about places to visit, where to eat, shop etc. This is so helpful.

Well organised and well run site

Nicolas runs this site really well from the easy booking system to the full digital guide book. The site is nicely located and about one mile walk to the bus stop to get into Lincoln. Good sized level pitches with full services are really good and there is a great information hut. Good dog walking area for those who need it and a nice couple of miles walk to the pub (unfortunately not dog friendly). Lots of local places such as Whisby Lakes, Doddington Hall and Whisby garden centre. Pennells garden centre also an easy e mile walk.
