Faultless

This is the site that all CL sites should be measured by in respect of welcome, facilities, cleanliness and general tidiness. I challenge to find a fault with any of these, it’s a great base for exploring the area, and terrific if you have a dog with loads of walks on site. Nicola and Richard are two of the most friendly and helpful people you can meet. Yes I’m a fan.

A lovely, well maintained CL site.

This is a lovely site with a super walk around the fields for dog owners. Also, good access for off site walking. We walked to Bassingham from the site and had a great lunch in the Five Bells there. Nicola was very welcoming and has produced a guide book to download, with a wealth of information about places to visit, where to eat, shop etc. This is so helpful.

Well organised and well run site

Nicolas runs this site really well from the easy booking system to the full digital guide book. The site is nicely located and about one mile walk to the bus stop to get into Lincoln. Good sized level pitches with full services are really good and there is a great information hut. Good dog walking area for those who need it and a nice couple of miles walk to the pub (unfortunately not dog friendly). Lots of local places such as Whisby Lakes, Doddington Hall and Whisby garden centre. Pennells garden centre also an easy e mile walk.

Great site

A excellent site with great facilities and access to some good walks exercise out two dogs;a bit muddy at this time of year! A nice quiet retreat once you block out the traffic noise from the A46, it’s nearly inaudible after a while. This was our third visit to the site and we’re planning to come back again in the spring. Electricity is charged on an ‘as you go’ basis, which is an excellent idea, saved us a few quid! Nicola is very welcoming and helpful too. RAF Waddington is close, so the Red Arrows practising will be a regular occurrence. Thoroughly recommend this site, well worth a stay.

What a find!

We have just had 3 nights at this lovely site. Amazing info pre arrival and everything easy when we arrived. Nothing is left to chance , the most thorough info pack we have ever received, Gate code sent in advance, pick your pitch and Nicola popped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The site is a bit further out of Lincoln than we first thought, but , after a 30 min walk to the garden centre, we were able to catch a bus to town where there is everything you would need . We walked to the Whisby Wildlife Trust site and had further walks. The cafe there is brilliant. No toilets or showers on site but we can manage quite well for a short break. There is free wifi which we only used for emails , worked perfectly well for what we needed. Electric is metered which suits us really well as our usage is always low. Fridge on electric. TV, lights and heating over the three days was very good value. We don’t spend much time in our van during the day and don’t leave heating running when we are out! I think metered is the way forward, I’m sure it will make us more aware of what we are using. The site is quite close to the A46 and traffic noise can be heard but didn’t spoil our visit, the plus side of this is the ease of finding site and availability of public transport. This site is a credit to the owners and their hard work is evident. We will certainly be returning.

Lovely site...

A great site. Close to the A46 so access was easy (but not close enough that we were bothered by traffic noise). Very secure with locked gates. Convenient for Lincoln and a fantastic local nature reserve just over a mile away. We especially liked the fact that you could choose whether or not to use the EHU and you paid for the units you used which seems a very fair way of doing it, especially with electricity prices as high as they are. The only disadvantage for us was access on the first day. We'd had 4 emails from the site after we booked, none of which contained the gate code, but this was swiftly resolved. (Have to add that personally, I'd have preferred fewer emails - I'm inundated with work emails! One booking email would have sufficed.) The owner was lovely and was very understanding when we were late leaving, due to problems with our caravan. This is definitely one we'd like to return to - Lincoln is a gorgeous city and there is just SO much to do in the area. All the RAF sites are next on our wish list! Plus we found a particularly good Chinese takeaway nearby.....! A reason to return in itself!

Great place to stay

Easy to find with good secure access. Friendly, helpful welcome from the owner. Prior to arriving Nicola had sent a link to a Digital Guide which had very useful information about the site and local facilities etc. Excellent cycle path in to Lincoln and we used the secure, CCTV covered lockup (as suggested by Nicola) to lock up our e-bikes and explore Lincoln for the day. Good walk round the farm fields. Good serviced hard standing pitches, nicely spaced and with a helpful information hut. Would recommend.

A Late Autumn Break

We have stayed on many CL sites and this is definitely the best yet. The site is beautifully situated on a working farm and has lovely walks across the fields which, if you have dogs, is a welcome bonus. The site is immaculate and there is a great little information hut which provides you with maps and info about the local area as well as having books, games and DVDs to borrow. It is within easy reach of Lincoln and if you are a cyclist you can cycle in on a cycle path. The hosts were most welcoming and helpful. A gem in the Lincolnshire countryside. We will be back.

A Very Warm Welcome

Following our first visit to the site, we had a warm welcome by its owner. All pitches are well set out, clean and spacious with both water and waste plus EHU on all pitches. Excellent area to visit local attractions. We shall certainly be returning in the future.
