Immaculately kept CL, under new ownership

Highly recommended. This secluded CL is under new ownership/management. A warm welcome from Dawn and Andy in this idyllic setting. They took the time to personally greet us on arrival and over a coffee told us of some of the areas attractions. Situated close to the River Severn with a walk from the site through an oak tree lined avenue. Small nature reserve 10min walk away. They have obviously worked hard to upgrade and update this site. Plenty of space on the lawned field and immaculately kept. 15mins walk into town (Welshpool), 20min easy cycle ride to NT Powis Castle or pleasant walk. Dawn gave us an information leaflet detailing local POI’s and walks. A complementary breakfast bap on our final day topped their generous hospitality. We’ll be back!

Our stay Wednesday 1st June 2016 for 4 nights.

A lovely site with a lovely owner. The site is on the banks of the Severn, 20/30 minutes walk from the town centre of Welshpool. We stayed for 4 nights after the 2016 National. It was quiet and peaceful, at various times all you could hear was the birds in the trees and bushes around the site. There is a walk through the woods, including an avenue of trees, to the village. Dogs can be let off the lead and can enjoy the freedom of the surrounding fields. We will certainly be finding time, a weekend or longer, to return for another session of peace and quiet.

Re stay: 6th July 2015 for 3 nights

This is a very basic site and have been on much better at the same price. Approx 20mins walk in to Welshpool. Great food at Bistro7. Motorhome parking in car parks in Welshpool and Newtown.

Friendly Support for Rookies.

Arrived in very wet conditions, Paul & Ruth not there to show us the site but they had sent a helper to guide us in and show us the site. This was only our second outing in 'Bodie' but Paul & Ruth couldn't have been more helpful after we met them on the Saturday morning. Quiet site within easy walking distance of Welshpool, will definitely return next year. Thank you both. We took our friendly dog labrador on this trip with us but found the only pub to let us in was the Westwood Park Hotel which was very friendly, just a bit of info for anybody with a dog.

Highly recommended

We have just left this lovely peaceful site. Ideally situated for all the local activities - cycling, walking, kayaking, etc. Could even walk or cycle to Powys Castle or into Welshpool. Yes, there is a B road passing the site, but we honestly didn't notice it. There was hardly any traffic during the day, let alone at night. As for the Industrial Estate over the bridge - wouldn't have known it was there if we hadn't seen it! Can highly recommend The Green Dragon on the A458. Don't know what their pub-grub is like during the day, but their evening menu of home cooked food in the restaurant is great. The best meal we had in Welshpool. Friendly site owners and a warm welcome. Definitely recommended.

Lovely site

Arrived later than we had planned to a warm welcome by Ruth, and stayed for a week to explore the area.  Beautiful view from the site, and we had it to ourselves for most of the time.  Yes, it's by a reasonably busy B road - so are lots of sites - but the noise was not obtrusive.  As to the "industrial" estate - not a peep all week.  Thanks Ruth for a lovely week (and not a drop of rain all week in September !)

Top site

We had a very warm welcome at Severn Lodge, and found all the facilities easy to access. Although small, this CL has some lovely views, the hedges are low, so we in no way felt closed in. Plenty to do in the area, walking into Welshpool takes no more than 20 minutes and walking to Powis Castle about 50 minutes via the deer park. Everything for the caravanner who enjoys a no frills CL with 16 amp hook-up, and the quiet enjoyment found on an Adult Only site. I'm sure we will be back. It was good to see a younger couple running a CL, and running it so well.

Well Worth a Visit

Visited the site for the first time, stayed for a week nice location, great views, although we had a great deal of rain the site drained very well. We were greated by Ruth who was very friendly and gave us all the information we required. Take care when entering the driveway to the site from the road you need a wide swing. Worth a visit Powys Castle National Trust and the local pubs. We will return in the future

Wonderful little site.

Yes, it is as good as all previous reviews. Phil and Ann are both lovely people and very helpful. The site is very clean and tidy, you can tell they have put in a lot of time and energy to make it what it is. We would love to return and explore more of the area.

What a winner

Just had 4 nights at this wonderful site with it's lovely views across the countyside to the church. One of the best C/L's we have stayed at. A 10 minute walk to the shops at Welshpool and the railway station. We have never been to this area before but what scenery, a short drive takes you to Lake Vyrnwy and further away Llyn Clywedog near Llanidloes. You will not be disappointed with this site, the wildlife the birds but more than anything else Phil and Anne are brilliant hosts nothing is to much trouble.
