Lovely site, perfect hosts

Lovely, well kept site, with beautiful views. Easy access to walks along the Montgomery Canal and into Welshpool. Dawn and Andy were perfect hosts from arrival, where they tell you about the facilities on the site and things to do in the local area,to departure with the breakfast bap provided by Andy if you stay more than two nights. Really enjoyed the fire pit night.

Severn Lodge Welshpool

Dawn and Andy gave us a fantastic welcome and told us all about the area. They invited us to visit their lovely garden and to help ourselves to apples and damson including Pink Lady apples. It is an easy walk/cycle into Welshpool and also well located for visiting other places in north and mid Wales. We stayed 2 nights and on departure Andy cooked us a really delicious breakfast bap. They are a lovely welcoming couple and nothing is too much trouble. The site was really clean with sanitizing wipes and beautiful views over the adjacent maize field to local greenery and hills. We would really recommend this site and cannot wait to go back. Please visit if you are in the area Pat and Willi

Well worth a visit

If you want a peaceful site, with views, very close to Welshpool then look no further. This excellent site is well worth visiting. You'll be warmly welcomed by Dawn and Andy who have worked hard since to improve this site since taking over ownership. You will be made to feel like a valued visitor as they take time to sit and chat with all newcomers. Their friendliness and knowledge of the area is one of their many assets. Their breakfast baps on the day of departure were the icing on the cake. We can't wait to return.

Nice site, lovely couple

We stayed here last weekend in August, lovely site, but could be a bit tricky during wet weather as the pitches are all grass, we arrived and parked up, Dawn and Andy came over and we had a nice chat where they told us about the site and area, we were also one of the first visitors to sit around the Saturday night fire pit, with the other guests, which was lovely. They also have fruit trees that you are allowed to pick what you want. on our departing morning Dawn arrived with the breakfast bap, which was great and very welcome, will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Great couple.

Lovely couple.

The only thing I can add to the previous reviews, we came away with eating/cooking apples and pears from their orchard. We will definitely be returning. Thank you both for a lovely couple of days. (Plus that fantastic breakfast) Dawn, I hope you have been dead heading your roses.

Perfect weekend

Returned on Monday from 2 nights at this perfect cl, will definitely return. The new owners have, as previous reviews state, put a lot of hard work into making this a lovely site. I was pleased there were recycling bins for our rubbish as so often this is not the case. We were very warmly welcomed and the breakfast bap on our last morning was very enjoyable. We were told to help ourselves to fruit off the trees which was delicious, especially the pink lady apples and a definite bonus. Dawn & Andy checked how we were getting on to ensure we had an enjoyable visit. The site has only been open about a month under new ownership and is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. I noticed that the Montgomery Canal has not been mentioned in the reviews, it is a wildlife haven and excellent for walking and cycling along. The tow path is well maintained and you can cycle for miles in either direction. This is only the second review I have done on the cl sites but this site definitely did deserve one.

Great site

Only away for two nights over the August bank holiday, it's a shame we couldn't stay longer. Dawn and Andy are the new owners of this well maintained cl site, only a short walk from Welshpool and Powys castle. We were met on arrival by Dawn and made to feel welcome as we were shown where to park The grounds were well maintained, all with hook up and spacious pitches. After setting up we had a cup of tea with Dawn and Andy, this gave us time to meet them and find out about the area, good advice on local walks and good advice on the best local pub. Wonderful bacon, sausage and egg nap, cooked to perfection served to us on the morning we were leaving, it doesn't get better than that. We will be back again and we highly recommend this cl site.

Excellent site, well worth a visit

We stopped at this site as a second stop in the area. Our booking was followed up promptly with a welcome email, confirming our booking and telling us a little about the site, this set the tone for the visit. Dawn and Andy the new owners offer good old fashioned hospitality. We were met on arrival which is rare for a CL site and invited to join them for a welcome chat over a cuppa. They took the time to discuss the local area and the site with us, making us feel very welcome. At the end of the first day, they briefly checked that we’d had a good day and had found what we needed, a very nice small touch. A bonus for us was an invitation to eat some of the fruit grown on-site and this was topped off with a bacon, sausage and egg muffin to send us on our way on departure day. The site is very well maintained, with good views of the valley and is within easy walking distance of Welshpool. We highly recommend this site and will stop again if we are in the area.

House Hunting

We were looking for somewhere to stay close to Montgomery and came across Severn Lodge. What a find. The hosts Dawn and Andy could not have been nicer and more attentive. When we arrived they took time out to sit with us and give us all the details we needed about the site, walks and places of interest. The site is immaculate and was in a perfect location for us. 10 minute walk into Welshpool with its pubs and lots of other interesting places to visit to close by. Only intending on staying one night but with so much to do stayed for a second. And to cap it all Andy delivered to the van door perfect bacon, sausage and egg baps. Already booked in for another stay. Highly recommended!!

Great Find Well worth a visit

What a great find. Immaculate, lovely, clean and friendly. We booked this CL site after deciding to split our journey from Yorkshire down to NewQuay. With our dogs we were all warmly greeted onto site by Dawn and Andy. Later, over a drink they provided information about their site and local area. This prompted us to walk into Welshpool on our first night and ended with a drink in The Royal Oak. The walk straight off site was perfect for our dogs. The following day was spent seeing some of the surrounding area as far as Bala. Well worth a drive to in lovely surroundings. Sadly, the following day it was far too soon to be leaving but, not before a delicious complementary breakfast bap delivered to our door by Andy. We wish Dawn and Andy well managing this CL but know they are off to a good start. We look forward to a return visit.
