Another brilliant stay

Dawn and Andy are the most helpful, friendly hosts you will find. This was our second stay with them this year and, as CL’s go, we can honestly say it’s one of the best we have ever visited in 40 years of caravanning, and that’s down to Dawn & Andy - it’s as simple as that, thank you again!

Superb

This would be our CL of the year! The site looks great, grass well cut, flower displays, facilities spot on. The relatively new owners are enjoying running the CL and this is apparent in the hospitality they offer - a personal welcome, offers of help if you need it and a complementary breakfast bap when you leave (if you stay 2+ nights). Whilst we were there, Dawn and Andy put on a BBQ night for guests so we enjoyed good company and great food. It was a our second visit and it felt like returning to stay with old friends.

A great site with friendly and helpful owners.

We spent 4 nights here in June 2021 with our dog, intent on discovering the beauty of Welshpool. Dawn and Andy could not have been more helpful, always willing to give advice and directions. The barbecue put on for guest is a great way of meeting others with Dawn and Andy making you feel you had been friends with them for years! We are enthusiastic walkers and limited by our motorhome, we walked everywhere. After the briefest trip through the industrial part of Welshpool, the town is interesting with good pubs but the thing that made the holiday for us was the walks along the Montgomery Canal. We walked 10 miles on each of two days ending in a meal and a couple of pints at local pubs . Going south we arrived at the Horseshoes Inn for a good quality pub restaurant meal. Going north the following day we reached the Powys Arms where the atmosphere was so tranquil with the food home cooked and exceptional. Stunning day out. The real star is the Montgomery Canal. If there is a more beautiful canal anywhere, then we haven't found it. Worth going for this alone and we will be back soon enough. Thank you Dawn and Andy and see you soon.

A really lovely site

We spent 4 nights at the CL and were very impressed. It is easy to access and is very well maintained by Dawn and Andy who are really enthusiastic and helpful owners. We were able to pitch as we chose within the pitch we had and faced the lovely hillside view and got the sun too. We didn’t move our large motor home from the site but ventured out on our ebikes along the Montgomery Canal to Berriew and Gregynog Hall which is free to go in their lovely gardens. Another day we visited Powis Castle which is on the doorstep and finally we cycled up the Long Mountain for amazing views. Dawn and Andy put on a fantastic BBQ on a fine evening which we all really enjoyed and the breakfast bap on the day we left delivered by Andy just summed up what a great site this is. Thank you!

What A Gem

An immaculate site, with beautiful views & easy to find. The site is run by excellent hosts Dawn & Andy, a lovely warm welcome followed by an invite to a socially distanced bbq, superbly cooked by Andy. Bentley our Beagle was made very welcome on site Welshpool is a short 15 minute walk, for shops, pubs & the Montgomery canal. Powis Castle is close by but we were unable to visit as not Dog Friendly. The icing on the cake was a complementary freshly cooked Breakfast Bap on the morning we departed. Thank you Dawn & Andy for a lovely weekend, we ll be back xx

Five star site

From the time we arrived to the time we left there was not one thing we could fault, the site is run by Dawn and Andy who were the perfect hosts, the site is immaculate and nothing is a problem, and with a complimentary breakfast bap on our last morning to see us on our way it was the perfect end to a memorable trip, we will definitely be back.

Will definitely return

Lovely site with bench tables to sit near the pitches. Very easy to find directly off road. Easy walk on pavements into Welshpool. The area is quiet and peaceful. Dawn and Andy made us feel very welcome and gave us directions for walks and are very sociable. We often pass through Welshpool to visit relatives and intend to make this our regular stopover.

Cannot say enough about here

Only stayed one night but wished we had more time. Place is spotless and because Dawn and Andy live here it’s very welcoming. Only 15 min walk to the town centre and Tesco etc the same time. Dawn and Andy meet you and spend time giving detail on what’s around and how the best way to get there. We will be back for sure. You will not be disappointed.
