Good site

Recently stayed at this very pleasant site. Great location, well maintained and good having water and tv aerial to each pitch. Mr Wellock was very helpful. Be careful when choosing your pitch if you are there in school holidays or weekends as we were on a pitch adjacent to the commercial site and it was very noisy. Think if you were on their second CL this also may be a problem.

Super site

Just had a two night stay at Seat House and can highly recommend it. Warm welcome from the friendly owner. Hardstanding pitches with own water tap and tv aerial. Another larger site next door but hardly knew it was there. Peaceful site with good access to the local attractions. Will definitely visit again.

A Yorkshire welcome

Great CL. We had a warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Wellock. We were given the choice of pitch. The facilities were excellent, spotlessly clean, the shower was very good. We approached the site from the west, Seattle, and our Satnav gave instructions to turn left before the village of Gargrave. This took us down single track roads with no passing places and nowhere to turn around, we did approx 10 miles extra. We would not make the same mistake twice. The site is easy to access using the CL directions, there is a camping / caravan sign at the Gargrave turning. There is a good farm shop on the main Skipton Road, selling everything. Fish and chip shop in Gargrave, not bad. We stayed for 3 nights as a break on the way home. Lots of beautiful places to drive to. Great walking country. We just needed more time to go and look. We will be back for a longer stay.

Superb little gem

Excellent site that really is a gem. Don't be put off by the narrow road to the site it's short and the road is quiet. We stayed for 4 wonderful nights. I concur with all the splendid previous reviews. We don't use the loos but they looked clean and the disposal point was clean and useable with a holder for the cassette cap. In C19 times sanitiser provided. Each well spaced pitch has water, electric and TV aerial. We were on the furthest pitch from the house and yes it's a little walk but not that far and there's a barrow provided if preferred but to be honest I just emptied it a little sooner than normal. It's not your usual CL as there is an adjacent 5 van site and a commercial Ash Keys 15 van site. But fear not. It's lovely and quiet and both the other areas are also very well spaced. Lovely walks from the site and further afield or drives to see the wonderful Dale's. We.loved it and tried to stay longer but the CL was full. Luckily the adjacent site run by the site owner's son was available so a quick change of pitch for another three nights!

Up there with the best.........

A lovely site. Peaceful and scenic. The toilet and shower block is really good, and heated! TV booster aerials to all pitches, and your own water supply to all pitches as well. What is there not to like? Close to Skipton, with the Leeds/Liverpool Canal running through it. Well worth a trip on a canal boat. We managed to book an Afternoon Tea cruise. A truly lovely little market town, with an excellent open market. The drive through Coverdale is breathtaking, and I highly recommend it, despite the sheep and cattle standing in the road at places! But keep your eyes firmly on the road! It is one in four in places!

Best CL in the Dales.

Seat House is one of the best CL's we have stayed at. The views from the site are stunning and the toilet and shower block is immaculate. The site owners are very welcoming and friendly. You simply must go and visit.

What a site!!

In 26 years of membership we have not visited a better site than Seat House in Eshton North Yorkshire. The scenery, peace and tranquillity were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble from Brian and Kate and they made the stay wonderfull. Watching the lambing and being shown how to construct drywalls was great. Access to the rest of the area was excellent and we will return. Many thanks.

Superb

This is our 3rd visit to Seat House site. New toilet block, immaculate. Owners very welcoming. Site is well maintained, grass clippings collected. Space between pitches very generous. Located near Gargrave which has an excellent fish & chip shop and Indian Restaurant as well as a Coop. Skipton is about 7 miles away. If you like walking the canal tow paths, you can pick this up from Gargrave. We walked into Skipton from Gargrave, 5 miles, and then caught the bus back. Easy to visit some of the favourite places in the Dales, Grassington, Malham Cove, Settle etc. Can't talk highly enough about the site.

Wonderful CL Site

This has got to be one of the best CL’s we have visited. Great facilities and even have water supply on pitches too. Still competitively priced. The pitches have so much space around them and you even get a picnic table and chairs. We were given a warm welcome by the owners and the Covid measures were explained. The surrounding area is stunning and the site well placed to visit places of interest. We’re already planning our return visit.

Lovely site - apart from the flies!

We were recommended this site by friends who come here regularly. It really is spot on with excellent facilities and better than expected access from Gargrave (ignore sat nav directions and follow book instructions to avoid narrow hump-back bridge). Being late in the season, the site wasn't full and we seemed to be the only people using the immaculate toilets. The dinky local bus runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, providing links to Malham and Skipton twice a day. The Mason's Arms in Gargrave does good food but book a table for Sunday lunch. The only grumble we had was an invasion of horseflies and bluebottles, notwithstanding it was late October, but it is after all a cattle farm and cattle attract flies!
