Lovely warm welcome from Trish and her husband on arrival. So many bike routes and walks from the site to beautiful Rye and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve in particular. Lush green field to park up on, really well kept and pretty. Loved everything about our stay here. We will definitely be back. Favourite CL so far in 2.5 years of membership.
Fantastic site
Stayed 2 nights at this wonderful site. Really peaceful and pretty. The walk to rye through fields of lambs was a delight. The owners were friendly and helpful, initial info was just right and they were around if needed, not fussy at all. The pitch was flat, water and ehu were close to each unit.
I'll be returning for sure.
Peaceful stay in middle of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve
Trisha and Steve, our hosts and owners of River Brede Farm site, set in the beautiful Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, have worked so hard to make this new site work well for visitors and it does! A very peaceful rural spot with views to Rye, Winchelsea and the ruins of Camber Castle, all within easy walking distance. We were welcomed on site by the owners, shown our pitch and given plenty of local information. They have created an information shack with lots of up to date local info, leaflets and maps to help visitors make the most of their time there. Everything was clean and tidy, well marked pitches with electric hookups and water tap. Plenty of public footpaths from the site as well as cycle paths along the coast to Winchelsea Beach, Rye Harbour and beyond. Delicious lunch at Los Gringos Mexican restaurant in Rye, and a Greek meal at William The Conquerer pub at Rye Harbour. Also worth a visit are the Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Discovery Centre which has an excellent choice of sandwiches, cakes and coffees as well as binoculars to watch the many birds on the salt marsh. Very good wheelchair access here and in their bird hides. We enjoyed walking to Rye along the river Brede from the site, stopping at Camber Castle which is just 10 mins away. The Halpin bird hide was fascinating - literally a window onto the water, and all sorts of birds to see nesting and using the water.
Highlights of the visit to River Brede Farm were the warm, attentive owners, hearing the cuckoo every day, wonderful dawn chorus and peace and quiet. We hope to return regularly.
Peaceful Easy Feeling
Just returned from a four-night stay at this beautiful and restful site. Owners Tricia and Steve were most welcoming and friendly, giving great advice about local places of interest. The site is quite new and very neatly laid out, our hardstanding pitch was spacious with EHU and water supply handily placed. If you like walking and/or cycling there are some fabulous trails on the doorstep. Birdwatchers will revel at the nature reserve at Rye Harbour with several "hides" on hand if that is your thing. The New Inn at Winchelsea has a charming beer Garden if the weather is kind and the beer and food is great. Rye has some lovely eating establishments for an evening out catering for most tastes. We very much enjoyed our stay and will be back I am sure. Thank You Tricia and Steve you're doing a great job !

Beautiful peaceful site
We stayed on this CL for 15 nights and it was a very last minute booking having had our initial CL cancel our booking due to poor weather and waterlogged site. Tricia and Steve couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely couple. The site is brand new with a choice of hard standing or grass pitches and water and EHU direct to each pitch. Set in a large grassy field very close to rye, winchelsea, camber castle, rye Harbour nature reserve, etc. All walkable from site if you enjoy walking. A bird watchers paradise! We saw a barn owl fly over the site most evenings around 8pm. What joy! The site was really peaceful with the most amazing sunsets and large open skies full of birds. Next to a river, you may even be lucky to hear and see the Marsh frogs. We had a wonderful break here and would highly recommend if you enjoy walking and peace and tranquility.

Great site that will only get better
Just had a two night stay at this CL which we really enjoyed. The welcome from Trish and Steven was great, they are clearly very proud of their site and living the dream. It is in a great location next to the nature reserve with many walks and cycle routes in each direction. We walked to Rye Harbour which takes between 45 mins and an hour depending on your route and has a great pub (William the Conquerer), Rye (lovely place) which is 30 -45 mins walk and Winchelsea (the church is a big surprise for such a small village and the new inn is great). All are a short drive away as is Hastings.
We stayed in January and, after the heavy rain, the field was too wet so we had a temp hard standing which was great with water and waste next to it. This was next to the owners house which felt fine as they were so welcoming. The field is in a great location and we saw the planned fully serviced hard standing marked out ready to be done when the rain stops and the ground thaws.
The access road is a single lane but is not long and so quiet it is not an issue. We will definitely be back later in the year when it is done as we want to see it all with the sun out as the area with all it's river channels as well as Rye will be even better in the summer.
