Beautiful peaceful site

We stayed on this CL for 15 nights and it was a very last minute booking having had our initial CL cancel our booking due to poor weather and waterlogged site. Tricia and Steve couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely couple. The site is brand new with a choice of hard standing or grass pitches and water and EHU direct to each pitch. Set in a large grassy field very close to rye, winchelsea, camber castle, rye Harbour nature reserve, etc. All walkable from site if you enjoy walking. A bird watchers paradise! We saw a barn owl fly over the site most evenings around 8pm. What joy! The site was really peaceful with the most amazing sunsets and large open skies full of birds. Next to a river, you may even be lucky to hear and see the Marsh frogs. We had a wonderful break here and would highly recommend if you enjoy walking and peace and tranquility.

Great site that will only get better

Just had a two night stay at this CL which we really enjoyed. The welcome from Trish and Steven was great, they are clearly very proud of their site and living the dream. It is in a great location next to the nature reserve with many walks and cycle routes in each direction. We walked to Rye Harbour which takes between 45 mins and an hour depending on your route and has a great pub (William the Conquerer), Rye (lovely place) which is 30 -45 mins walk and Winchelsea (the church is a big surprise for such a small village and the new inn is great). All are a short drive away as is Hastings. We stayed in January and, after the heavy rain, the field was too wet so we had a temp hard standing which was great with water and waste next to it. This was next to the owners house which felt fine as they were so welcoming. The field is in a great location and we saw the planned fully serviced hard standing marked out ready to be done when the rain stops and the ground thaws. The access road is a single lane but is not long and so quiet it is not an issue. We will definitely be back later in the year when it is done as we want to see it all with the sun out as the area with all it's river channels as well as Rye will be even better in the summer.
