Absolutely wonderful

Tricia and Steve the most welcoming and helpful hosts. We have been travelling and this will be our last in a year. They say - save the best till last! Best kept site we've been on, lovely setting with plenty of walks. Bus stop handy for visiting surrounding areas. Do recommend staying here. There are shops for all essentials close by, best butchers and fish shop ever! We definitely will be returning.

Not for us.

Well signposted site with hookup and water on pitch. For such a large field the pitches were very close in one corner. Not much privacy. Woken each day by noisey yappy dogs at nearby property and doors opening and closing by nearby campers. No toilets or showers as stated. Great walks and cycle rides nearby. Lovely welcome from owner but overall not for us.

A great find

Tricia and Steve are great hosts , trying to help whenever possible ,(Thanks for the loan of your hose). The site postcode was not recognised by our aguri caravan sat nav . so just take the road signposted winchelsea beach, or you may end up in winchelsea, Not a good idea with a twin axle on the back .Thanks again .

Beautiful CL

We visited this part of the U.K. for the first time and found this a lovely site. It is very clean and tidy and very open, which we enjoy. The surrounding countryside has fantastic bike rides and lovely walks, all from the site. The owners were lovely and I would recommend this site to anyone visiting the area. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area.

Amazing hideaway

Absolutely stunning, tranquil. Lots of bird life, relaxing, nice walks. Lovely couple that run it. Very very helpful and friendly. Great for walks, beach. Shop near ye. Restaurants nearby. Will definitely be back. Thankyou. Ps. I didn’t want to do a review as I’d like to think there’s always a place for me. But that would be selfish. Lol.

Excellent

Just returned from 4 nights at River Brede farm, Trish & Steve are very welcoming and helpful and keep the CL in lovely condition. Great peaceful location right next door to the nature reserve and great for dog walking. Electric, water and waste on pitch, new chemical disposal point and big information hut. All in all great CL and a lovely stay. Thanks Steve and Trish.

Gonna be great!

Our first time here, just 2 nights, but we know the area really well so it's great to finally have a site in this location! Very much a work in progress, but it is remarkable how much the owners have achieved in a short time - since the Spring. Very peaceful, excellent for birds; the walk to Castle Water gave us an hour in the hide watching the nesting Cormorants. Woken up by Reed Warblers in the morning, kept awake by Marsh frogs in the middle of the night - superb. The owners are lovely & great hosts and are working hard on site all day. At present the 3 hard standing pitches & 2 grass pitches are rather huddled in 1 corner of a huge field & hence too close together; I had to endure a lady talking to her mum on the phone for 45 minutes - not her fault, she was inside her motorhome, but with windows open this is what happens when units are close; it isn't why we use CLs. The owners plan to extend both the hard standing & grass pitches round the field in future. Trish explained that they also want to create some access points to the river so fishing will be possible. Perhaps a bit too manicured for a wildlife friendly CL? I understand keeping the grass short around the pitches, but not across the entire field - there were many Swallows flying over the grass looking in vain for insects; with longer grass there would be many more insects including butterflies, and more birds. Just wow some paths through it for dog walking? A lot less work! Maybe offer non - serviced grass pitches as an option in the future? Excellent for cycling & walking, & the nearby fish shop is super - we had fresh dressed local crab! Great work so far - we'll be back!

SUPER SITE!

We have recently purchased a new motorhome and this was the second time we had taken it away, staying fairly local. We originally tried to book a different CL, which wasn't available, and saw this advertised at the bottom of the website page. Being a new CL it isn't listed in the directory, however, what a surprise this find was for us, as it was perfect. We were given a very warm welcome from the owner, Tricia, who explained everything on site and gave suggestions for visiting local places. Quiet and plenty of space. Furthermore, each pitch had it's own supply of water. All was very well kept and we were told by Tricia's husband, Steve, that they still have further plans to make the site even better. A very special CL which we hope to return to.

What a gem

A gem of a site ,lovely area, location excellent for walking especially across the fields to Rye and around the nature reserve. Trish and Steve were lovely hosts and very welcoming. The site is so peaceful at the time of our stay you could hear a cuckoo and the marsh frogs and became acquainted with the local pheasant strutting his stuff around the site. We will definitely be back soon.
