Great little site

Just returned from 5 night stay at this site, as said in previous reviews there is some train noise but it didn’t bother my wife and I and it never disturbed us at night. It’s very handy for travelling around the Bournemouth / New Forest area with bus stops just at the end of the access lane and very pleasant walks down to the coast. We will certainly be returning in the very near future.

Great CL, terrific location

Lovely peaceful cL, other than the odd train, with easy access by foot or bike to Highcliffe and beyond in either direction...Lymington, Milford on Sea, Barton in Sea, with New Milton a few mins away for shopping etc. Sue and Jon are terrific hosts, making everyone feel welcome. This is our second visit and we will be back for sure.

Lovely Site

We have been to Oak Cottage twice now in the space of 3 weeks. A lovely site hidden away but close to local amenities and great locations for the beach and local towns. Access is tight getting in and out with a twin axle but we are used to it now! Highly recommended we will return in the near future.

An absolute gem!

Just spent 3 nights at Oak Cottage….what can I say……an absolute gem! Great location…..an easy walk to the beach through 2 small woods. Yes you have to cross a couple of roads but that was no issue. The site itself is lovely….so peaceful (even with our 3 small dogs). Lots of space between pitches so it doesn’t feel crowded. The owners are lovely……gave us lots of useful information about the local area and sell freshly laid eggs that were delicious. We will definitely return if we are in the area.

Lovely little Gem

We have just returned home from this lovely C L and enjoyed every minute ! Quite small and secluded and felt very rural but so convenient for the beach with a super woodland walk and buses just outside the site … we have 2 dogs and don’t move the unit once parked so perfect for us. We walked to Mudeford and back, and the dogs are still exhausted! Friendly owners, perfect location, what’s not to like ? Thanks Sue we will be back x

Secret CL

This was our first experience of a CL when we stayed for two nights around the August Bank Holiday and it was perfect for our needs. It’s quite small but it’s hidden at the end of a short lane and you wouldn’t even know it was there. Adults only and dogs permitted. No loos or showers but there’s a water tap right on site and grey waste is disposed of into the hedges. The rubbish recycling is up the separate driveway to the house with the black waste point in the field behind the house. EHU for each pitch. We’d certainly stay again because of its proximity to family. Sue, the owner, is very helpful and arrives to collect the fee armed with leaflets with takeaway information, dog walks and bus timetables.

Lovely Site

Sue And john are the perfect hosts very welcoming, friendly and Helpful, we were on our Cara-moon (honeymoon) and they had decorated the gate on our arrival and left Flowers Chocolates and Champagne as well as a gift on our plot so kind and Thoughtful of them, this was our third visit to Oak Cottage and certainly wont be our last, the site is very quiet and tranquil with all the facilities you need and within easy walking distance of the local village of Walkford where there are a few local shops two pubs one being the Walkford which does good food at reasonable prices or you can take a twenty minute walk to the Beachcomber cafe on the cliffs and enjoy enjoy a snack or a meal with views over to the Isle of Wight, or you can walk to Highcliff castle and on to Mudeford Quay, the Scenic Barton on Sea is nearby with another excellent Cafe on the Cliff top. we cant recommend this site highly enough.

Fabulous CL!

This was our 2nd visit to Sue and John's piece of paradise having missed out due to COVID. It is so peaceful and tranquil. Sue and John are the perfect hosts, very welcoming and helpful but leave you to your own devices. From the site you can walk to the beach, a short stroll to the local pub with excellent food, local shops and best of all , fish&chips, Chinese takeaway delivered to the site! Sue told us where to park in Barton on Sea for free with great access to the beach for dog walking. We booked a dog friendly table inside the Beachcomber at 9am on a Saturday morning after a lovely walk on the beach and by 9.15 it was full, very fast service and great food. If you don't want a long walk but just a little walk Sue can give you directions through the fields which was great if you've had a long day exploring. There is a Tesco superstore about 5 minutes drive from the site and a big Sainsbury's about 10 minutes. Mudeford, Highcliffe and Hengistbury are easy to get to. We are booked in again in 2 weeks and for next year, it has everything we need.

Lovely little place

This is a lovely little site. It's easy to walk to the beach. If you want to park at Highcliff Castle and walk through the nature reserve along the cliff tops to Mudeford it's easy too. You can park at the castle for 4hrs. If you want more time then pay by the parking app or call them. Sue and John are lovely hosts and sue makes time to meet her guests personally. They have heaps of local knowledge and are very kind. Buses, walks,a local pub all on your doorstep. We would definitely stay again. Many thanks sue and John. A*
