First visit to the Peak District

Just returned from a five night stay at this campsite. Very easy to find although the last half a mile or so is a single track road. It was good to be offered a choice of pitches. The owners were very friendly and said we could pitch the van any way we wanted, and we finally got it right after the third attempt. The weather was very hot and there Is no shade to be found from any trees. Clean and tidy site with separate shower and toilet which is adequate for the CL site. The site is ideal to visit Bakewell, Matlock and we spent a couple of days walking along the canal at Crompton Mill and visiting the coffee shops and ice cream vans! There is a pleasant walk up to the Monument which is ideal for an evening stroll to watch the sun going down. All in all very happy with the site, and hope to return soon.

A Great Little Site in a Perfect Location

We booked a weekend at Moor Edge at quite short notice, needing to find a site in the area. The owner was very accommodating over the phone and upon arrival we were met by his wife who gave us a choice of pitches (they have at least seven, so there will always be a choice). The site is in a beautiful location, a short pleasant walk from the village of Crich and from the Tramway Museum and Crich Stand. There is one toilet and one shower which. We used our own shower, so can't vouch for the shower but the toilet was modern and clean. A great little site at a reasonable price. We'll certainly be back!

A quiet CL site ?

We stayed at Moor Edge recently . it actually has 2 additional areas set aside for C/vans , they are separated by fences each has power / services and the other 2 have separate access , however this access is difficult to use and consequently vehicles and visitors drove through the CL area where my van was located . I counted up to 10 vans at one time on the 3 fenced areas so at times it was rather busy . some other users next to me had their views blocked . Yes nice loos ,nice views and hard standings and short grass . Would I return , doubt it , cant be sure of a view or how busy it would be .

Our first stop at a CL and won't be the last!!

Just back from 3 nights at Moor Edge Farm and cannot fault it. Paul and Joyce made us very welcome and were very helpful especially when we had a traction problem on the wet grass due to my inexperience as a motor homer (only our second trip). Lovely location with stunning views, easy walk to shops with a proper butcher and artisan bakers. Great walks from the site and access further afield using local busses. On site facilities clean and well maintained and individual EHU and water hook ups. The site is a credit to Paul and Joyce and we will be back, thanks to you both, David and Carolynne.

A gem of a CL

A truly lovely site! Visited April 2021 with Covid restrictions lifted slightly but toilet/shower facility open. Electric and water supply to each pitch made it so much easier! The way the site is situated and run is a real credit to Paul and Joyce, the farm owners. Lovely walking area, the local pubs in Crich were closed , except for the Cliff Inn behind the Tramway Museum (only open Fri/Sat/Sun) due to Covid. We did a 3 mile walk to Wessington and found the Horse and Jockey pub which was open every day from 12 noon for food and drinks (outside of course). One of the best CL sites we have visited, in terms of layout, facilities and scenery. At £15 per night it was very good value. If anybody asks us for a recommended CL in the Matlock area we would definitely recommend this CL!! We will no doubt visit again-- fairly local to us, but good for a few days away in our motorhome.

Beautiful rural site - lovely owners - extremely helpful and friendly

Such a gorgeous site with fab facilities. We booked a long weekend (first escape after Covid 19 lockdown). We are fairly local to the area so the main aim was to have a lovely weekend away , test everything in the caravan and awning etc to make sure we were travel ready for longer trips in the year. Technical issue when leaving the site and Paul & Joyce could not have been more helpful even calling in local friends to resolve our car & caravan problem. Would def recommend having a weekend away before any long journeys each year and will be returning to the site again . Thank you so much Mick and Maureen Frazer .

Great place

We stayed at Moor Edge Farm for 4 nights in May. The site is in lovely countryside with great views of the surrounding area. The shower and toilets are beautifully clean and the shower is very good. The area is good for visiting local attractions and is great for walking and cycling (although many hills as you would expect). There is a canal close by which has a good tow path ideal for walking and cycling. The local town of Crich has a local store which sells provisions, a butchers (the sausages were lovely and there is a good selection of pies etc), an Indian restaurant, a bakers and a fish and chip shop. The local pub in the main street sells good ales and the Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. Thank you for letting us stay there, we want to go back...now!

Brilliant site with stunning views

Stayed here for a week in October Fantastic location with wonderful views. Owners could not be more friendly, welcoming or helpful. Communication before we arrived was also very good Site is spacious, gently sloping ( plenty of levelling blocks available), some pitches are fully serviced, all have their own fresh water tap. Toilet/ shower facilities are basic but clean TV reception was good. Site can be quite exposed in high winds - it’s called Mooredge for a reason! Lovely walk across the fields to Crich, or you can walk via the road into the village too, with pubs, general store and fish and chip shop. Crich Tramway Museum and Crich War Mermorial are both within easy walking distance and are both well worth visiting. Many many more things to do within a close distance, including Matlock and Matlock Bath ( illuminations in October are excellent and our reason to visit at this time), and lots of lovely walks. Ideal site for us

Making memories

Our first cl site we’ve visited as we’ve only had the van a couple of months. I was dubious about booking a cl site as I was worried about what we’d find when we turned up. All I can say is wow, pulling on the field the view hits you. Joyce ran out to welcome us and let us know where to go. All pitches are fully serviced. We opted to pitch higher up for the views and they have plenty of blocks available to aid levelling. Being on a working farm there has been so much for our 3 year old son to see and the friendliest working sheep dog we’ve ever met, our son is besotted with Finn. Joyce and paul even let us go and see them milking the cows and help feed the calves.Loads to do and see in the area and we would highly recommend
