First visit to the Peak District
Just returned from a five night stay at this campsite. Very easy to find although the last half a mile or so is a single track road. It was good to be offered a choice of pitches. The owners were very friendly and said we could pitch the van any way we wanted, and we finally got it right after the third attempt.
The weather was very hot and there Is no shade to be found from any trees. Clean and tidy site with separate shower and toilet which is adequate for the CL site.
The site is ideal to visit Bakewell, Matlock and we spent a couple of days walking along the canal at Crompton Mill and visiting the coffee shops and ice cream vans! There is a pleasant walk up to the Monument which is ideal for an evening stroll to watch the sun going down.
All in all very happy with the site, and hope to return soon.
