Delightful and peaceful

We recently returned from a four night stay at this delightful CL. When we contacted the site unfortunately the Caravan Club CL site was full but they offered us a pitch on their own Fieldbarn site which was adjacent to the CL. The pitches were very well spaced, it was very quiet, other reviews have mentioned the road, but we honestly can say that we couldn't hear it at ll. The shower room was adequate and clean as were the two toilets. There was a small hut with cakes. marmalade, jam and eggs for sale. We recommend the eggs. We enjoyed the walk across the fields to the village and sitting outside our motor home was so peaceful with lovely views. Unfortunately the weather was not so kind on two of our days, but Stratford was easily reached, once by motor home (Marina parking in Stratford has places for motor homes) and also we used public transport. Will definitely stay there again and we are more than happy to recommend. Great value for money too, in fact quite a gem of a site.

Lovely Site ... but avoid carpark next to Waitrose!

Great location, good sized flat easy pitches, lovely owners and a bonus of an excellent small bathroom block (1 shower 20p and 2 toilets). Easy biking distance to Stratford, about 15 mins, the first half on the public road and the 2nd on a cycle path. Near an A road, so some traffic noise, but nothing that would bother you at night. Near to a large Waitrose (3/4 mile) ... BUT WATCH OUT ... the Waitrose carpark has a height barrier, however there is a large public carpark with no height barrier right alongside. We parked in the public park ... paid our parking fee ... and on return from shopping 30 mins later found an 85 pound fine for taking up more than one parking space. There are no signs banning oversized vehicles, or spaces for large vehicles and most motorhomes do overflow a standard car space. Not a happy outcome ... or an inducment to shop at a Waitrose again?

A delightful CL

We have recently spent three nights on this well kept and very pleasant CL. We were impressed to find on arrival that more than 5 well spaced pitches were numbered to give a choice of either grass or hard standing. The owners had obviously gone to a great deal of trouble to welcome visitors and provided a comprehensive information leaflet about the site, local walks, and a timetable for transport to and from Stratford. Locally made cakes, jam, honey and eggs were for sale in a small hut on the edge of the farmyard. Some traffic noise is to be expected from a busy main road but we could still enjoy the sounds of the birds on the site. We always prefer to use our own toilet and shower and so we didn't explore the on-site facility. Over all we were very pleased we found this site and will return.

Perfect for Stratford!

We felt so lucky to get a spot at the last minute at Monks Barn and we were delighted with everything the CL has to offer, including the lovely welcome: A super-level hardstanding, electricity, toilets, shower and information hut with eggs, jam and cake. The previously mentioned road easily facilitated a visit to Stratford to drop off our son and we slept soundly, probably because we had just driven back from France. We hope to go back soon! Thank you!

Not the peace we were expecting

We were really looking forward to staying on this site and some peace as lots of other reviews stated but in reality its about 100 yards from a very busy A road., The CL is actually in a grass area in the driveway of the farm and whilst there are some hard standing and grass pitches and it was well kept it felt like we were pitched in someones drive. We do not feel it would be suitable for children as all the cars for the other two sites come through this CL and there is no barrier or gate to stop them running out to the road. We were not met on arrival and other than when we paid we did not meet the owners and hey did not enquire if we were OK at any point. We were left wondering where we were meant to go as there is are also another site but when we looked to pitch there the other pitch left was next to a cow/sheep shed which did not smell great at all. We were just relieved it was winter and we were inside the van as you would not get much peace sitting outside in the summer. The site is well located for Stratford upon Avon and the surrounding areas but you cannot walk anywhere from here although the leaflet says you can walk to the village but not in winter as the large meadow you need to walk thought is waterlogged and full of sheep mess. On our last night there were 6 caravans/motorhomes on the CL.

Fabulous site

Stayed here for four nights in August. We couldn't get on the CL but stayed on the Fieldbarn Site instead, which is just as good if not better, as we weren't troubled by any traffic noise. The site is well laid out and well kept. We didn't use the shower facilities but the toilets were clean and well looked after. There is an information hut on site, plus another small hut with home made produce - the jams were particularly good and excellent value for money! Received a very friendly welcome on arrival and an informative booklet about the site and the surrounding area. Walked through the rally field down to the New Inn in Clifford Chambers, where they serve a very tasty carvery. Lovely site, would definitely come back when we are next in the area.

Great site fabulous location

Some friends and I took our caravans to this site for a local to us and central meeting point. We were advised when booking that the CL was full but we could use the rally field which had power but was a fair walk away from the facilities which were very clean. The rally field was ideal for us with fantastic views . Very relaxed and we had a brilliant time. There's even home made cakes and farm laid eggs available with an honesty box for payment. Fantastic value and we shall certainly be going back.

Lovely site in amazing location!

Just exactly what we like in a CL ( although actually the CL itself was fully booked and they offered us a pitch on the Fieldbarn Site). Amazing value with senior citizen discount, great rural location and a friendly, informal feel with dogs and children welcome. Only 2 toilets and 1 shower but most people on a busy bank holiday seemed to have their own so no queues. The toilets and shower are in what appears to be 16th century farm buildings so don't look like a purpose built, caravan club site toilet block! But they were very clean and absolutely fit for purpose- and add to the lovely atmosphere of the place. If you want brand new toilet block, best to go elsewhere. The location cannot be faulted both for visiting Stratford and the Cotswolds, and for rural views. Lovely site, with lovely owners! We will definitely use again!
