BRILLIANT SITE WARM WELCOME RECEIVED BY ALL

We have stayed on the site for many years and the standards we have come to expect are being improved upon. Upgrades to the toilet and shower facilities have been carried out to a high standard. As well as staying as a single carannner our recent rally was enjoyed by all with the ease of arrival and departure being greatly appreciated. We will be back very soon to once again enjoy the site and surroundings. Chris and Rob Branson Pieces of 8

Fantastic Weekend Get Away

Stopped over for 2 nights to try our new caravan out, this site was amazing and the owner is lovely and very helpful. It was so relaxing and the walk over the fields to Clifford chambers was lovely. The site is well kept and the toilet and showers facilities are excellent. Will definitely be staying again.

A top class CL

Stopped over for just 2 nights whilst having some work done on our motorhome by North Cotswold Motorhomes but will be back for sure when we want to visit Stratford on Avon. In general terms the site is level or close too, the necessary services are just a very short distance. Didn't use the toilet or shower as am self contained but judging by other reports they are equally excellent. It was easy to find, the satnav picked it up without difficulty and the entrance is easy and comfortable, no potholes or narrow tracks, with a proper surfaced driveway. The welcome was very friendly and the information available in the info shed is plentiful. Will be back for sure.

Field barn part of the site.

Fantastic for caravans and Motorhomes - this is the first CL site I’ve ever stopped on and it was beautiful. Very clean and well maintained grass and hard standing pitches. The actual cl part of the site was full but we were given a hard standing pitch on the field barn site directly adjacent , (pitch 17) which was slightly slopping; one chock under the front wheel was perfect to level us out. We walked into Stratford along field paths by the river’s s Stour and Avon plus about 50 yards of pavement. The walk took under an hour as a stroll. We didn’t use the toilets as we preferred to be self contained but they operated a ‘road sign’ stop and go sign to show if the facilities were in use it not- what a good idea as you could see at a glance if they were available. It’s a working farm but the farm yard is extremely clean, with a beautiful ancient oak beam thatched barn at its centre. My only criticisms ( and they are very minor) was that I couldn’t find the drive over waste disposal, and the signs on the road could have been a little better (but they were adequate) - all the documentation on arrival said ‘any questions just ask’ so I probably should have done but like I say very minor issues so I didn’t bother 😀 Overall, beautiful site that I would highly recommend!

second stay

we have stayed on this site before and wanted too again , lovely site bill is very helpful and kept us up to date during the lockdown period ( i had to book and rebook several times ) if you walk through the fields via the footpath it leads you to a lovely little pub , which was closed on this occasion because of the virus , but hopefully open now , there is a little traffic noise during the day but hardly any noise at night . hope to book again soon for november or next year .

Best CL so far

We have only recently started using CL sites. This one is a little gem and the best we have stayed at so far! Booking process very efficient and made to feel very welcome by mr and mrs meadows. Site easy to access. Showers and toilets provided and there is a little shed with information, bus timetables and books. Whilst a separate one contains jams (plum is delicious) honey and cakes locally produced. We walked across the fields to Clifford chambers, a delightful village with a pub serving a lovely Carvery (the new inn) and also into Stratford which is about 2 miles from the village (part road and then followed public footpath) There is a bus though if walking isn’t for you. Can highly recommend this site and without a doubt will be back soon.

Brilliant site

We initially wanted to book the CL site, but it was full. We were offered a pitch on the Fieldbarn Site which we found to be better as it is further from the busy roadside, and we found it to be very quiet. If offered pitches 15 or 16 on the Fieldbarn Site please note a 25m lead will not reach the power point, as we found out after pitching up! We moved to pitch 17 which was on a slight slope, but easy enough for us to level up the van. We did notice one reviewer saying the Fieldbarn Site was further from the toilets, but to be honest we have been on sites where the toilets were much further away. There is an information hut full of local information and books etc and a further hut with eggs, cakes and local produce. Good walk to Clifford Chambers over the fields. We also walked into Stratford from the site which is just under 6 miles there and back. Stratford is always lovely, with plenty of coffee shops which are dog friendly. We stayed on this site for five nights and found plenty to see and do in this area. Will definitely return to this site if we are in the area again. Excellent value at £14.00 per night, or £13.50 if you are retired. The resident collie dog wanders around the site every day to check that all is ok. He had great fun with our collie, but is wary of people.

exceptional short break

Spent three nights at this wonderful CL site. Made so welcome and lovely cakes, eggs, jams and honey available on site. Beautiful surroundings and choice of hardstanding or grass pitches. Plenty of space and excellent shower and toilet facilities provided if you want them. Bus stop just up the road for Stratford - 10 minutes journey. Alternatively, the Leisure Centre car park in the Town Centre has designated motorhome bays, is ideally situated and reasonably priced. Will undoubtedly return as there is so much to see and do. Look out for the special offer tickets for the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre plays.

Certainly as you'd like it?

Just got back from 5 nights here. Liked it so much we've booked again next month! Lovely clean shower and toilets. Handy for bus into Stratford but need to take care on the busy road. Plenty of on site signage.Walk through the meadows to the New Inn at Clifford Chambers highly recommend. One improvement on approach would be for the CL signs to actually be on the roadside along with the B and B signage as some establishments like this do have separate entrances! Not the best road to turn around in.Apart from that an excellent CL.

Road trip 2019

Clean site. Level pitches Great recycling facilities. Loads of room between pitches. We stayed on CL field. Yes it's next to a road. But it did not bother us in the slightest. Rita was kind and told us of the history of the barn and the monks. The rally field is very quiet and also the barn field have no traffic noise; however they are further away from the loos and shower. The loos and showers are cleaned everyday and have been placed in the old barn. It's a working farm of 100 acres and full of birdsong. Rita explained that guests are welcome to forage and eat any of the fruit off the trees. I would love to be there when the apples and walnuts are ready. We parked at waitrose £2.00 for the day and walked into Stratford. Rita's map and directions are brilliant. The butterfly house was mind-blowing. On our last day we visited Kenilworth Castle which is truly superb and not as busy or expensive as Warwick. (£14.50 per person Warwick was £33.00 each) Kenilworth is extremely dog friendly and across the road is Abby park where your dogs can paddle in the pond or stream. St Nicolas church is beautiful and has Commonwealth war graves. They are scattered around the cemetery; we found three. There is a beautiful stunning church at Warwick called St Mary's that is also connected to Kenilworth castle. I won't spoil the history it's vast and has so much to offer. Our parking restrictions stopped us climbing the church tower this is a paid for activity but I don't know how much. Would we stay again yes most definitely even if it's to re visit St Mary's and climb the tower and see the butterfly's again.
