Dissapointing

What a let down! Owner asked us on arrival had we paid a deposit, it seems he did not know, then he informed us the hook up was 10amp not 16amp, all vans on site tripped the supply at some point, there was only one toilet and a very dirty shower! had we not paid a deposit of £45.00 we would have left as soon as we arrived, runner up cl of the year, unbelievable! one night there were ten vans on site, at £18.00 what a rip off, the description of the site was worlds away from reality. the bus service, chip shop and pub were the only pluses.

A Perfect place to relax

We've just had a week here at this excellent CL site the owners are very friendly and always willing to go out of their way to help - we left our chairs out and a thunderstorm started I contacted them to ask if they could put in our awning and they did so which we was very grateful for , The site is very peaceful and pitches well placed ,toilet and shower always very clean, Also catharine runs a therapy clinic we both had a relaxing massage which I would highly recommend ended up feeling so relaxed . As they told us nearly everything is about 20mins away and certainly seemed so, well situated for Portsmouth,Southampton isle of wight and new forest visits. There is a large morrisons and tescos nearby too. And a pub just along the road. We definitely intend to return if only for the massage. Keep up the good work .

Handy stopover for Ferry

We booked this site for an overnight stay with very little notice and received a warm welcome by Tim on arrival. Really easy to find and ideal as an overnight for an early ferry crossing. The site was well kept and the toilet and shower block were spotless. The facilities included a free shower and use of the washing machine and tumble dryer for a small payment. It would be an ideal site for sightseeing in the area as well. We would definitely use this site again.

Another pleasant stay.

Another pleasant stay at Medowbank Farm, Tim and Katharine are always very welcoming, the new hardstandings are a great addition to what was already a superb CL.

Another Pleasant Stay

We paid our second visit to this CL over the Christmas/New Year period and once again received a warm welcome. We were pleased to see that a hardstanding area had been put down since our stay last year, as the grass was very wet and our twin-axle very heavy. The drive was rather muddy but Tim and Catherine were busy filling the worst areas even while we were there. Our only problem was with the electric trip, but we mentioned this to Tim and know for a fact that this problem has since been investigated. Tim and Catherine are very obliging people, keen to make a success of their site and nothing is too much trouble for them. The toilet was clean and the shower a useful addition. We like the security of this site and its close proximity to the New Forest and Southampton, areas which we love to visit. Keep up the good work, we'll be back!!

A little gem

We've just got back from this CL and would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay. It's in a great location for the New Forest and various attractions, you get a lovely large field, Tim and Catherine were the loveliest and most welcoming hosts we could've wished for, and nothing was too much trouble. Having spent a few days in the worst weather that could've been thrown at us, yes it was wet, but Tim and Catherine were hard at work providing a third hardstanding and improving the driveway. We were on a hardstanding pitch and the only problem with mud we had was from the dog running around in the field! The electricity is fine, just don't overload it. I was able to use a hairdryer and low wattage kettle with no problems. This is not an all singing all dancing (and expensive!) commercial site with thousands of pounds worth of driveways etc, it's a CL, you get a shower, toilet & washer dryers which you don't get at many CLs, and they're doing a wonderful job considering they haven't been there very long. We were very lucky to find this CL open in the winter, and we're looking forward to going back when hopefully the weather will be kinder to us. Thank you Tim and Catherine!

Peace so near to Southampton

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of October this year. Directions are very good although the club sign is at the end of the driveway. The electronic gates have a code to be put in going in and out. The field is grass with electric points scattered across the first quarter by the gateway in, which is fine. The units can be put wherever you want in the area that is around the electric points, very relaxed feel. Catherine runs a therapy clinic, so do book up for one whilst here, ear wax removal was my choice and felt very good. The New Forest is on the doorstep with all of it's attractions. National motor museum is a good day out (don't forget to use great savings vouchers) but the food is quite dear. Southampton and West Quays are only a fifteen minute drive. Bus service is very poor so own transport is essential. The shower is very small but better than in our unit. Toilet area has washing and drying machines which are coin operated. How could it be improved? Perhaps have hard standings and a pathway across the muddiest part of the field just outside toilet area.

So disappointing

We chose Meadow Bank Farm to visit family and friends on a return to our home town. It was chosen on the merits of location, reviews and the 2nd place award for CL of the year 2017. On arrival we were told we weren’t even booked in (despite having paid in full a month earlier). Whilst we appreciate that the site is undergoing major development the conditions on site are very poor. The lane running up to the site is extremely muddy and each time you get out of your car to open the gates you transfer that mud to your car. The hard standing pitch is still under construction and very messy, we needed towels in the doorway of the van to remove shoes on at all times. Around the hard standing was so muddy that wellingtons were needed all the time. Another big failure was the electric hook up. We had to abandon the electric kettle as it kicked out the electric each time. It was also impossible to use a hairdryer as that kicked it out too. Over the last 20 years we have visited probably hundreds of club sites and CLs and can honestly say this is the worst one we have ever visited. Maybe this is a nice site in the summer, if it’s dry!! it certainly is in a lovely area (despite being next door to a fairground winter storage site with fairground rides visible from the site. We truly feel that it should never be a year round site unless a lot of work is put in to improve the access conditions. Having booked and paid for 7 nights we left after only 3 Nights.

Response from the CL Owners:

Due to exceptional rainfall in the autumn and early winter of 2016 we recognise that the pitches and access road have had problems with mud and water. Following a negative review received regarding our site we have worked hard over the Christmas period to improve the driveway access to the site and to the hard standings. We now have 3 hard standings accessible from a resurfaced driveway and a fourth one is on the way.

So we do hope that this reassures both regular and new visitors alike that despite the adverse weather conditions Meadow Bank farm can be enjoyed in the winter as well as the summer!

A surprisingly sunny week in Novembe

We stayed here for a week as we wanted to visit an exhibition at Mottisfont Priory near Winchester. Both Tim and Catherine were extremely friendly and keen for us to enjoy the site. We walked circular routes through fields and The New Forest from the site (always a bonus on CL's) especially as these walks included two lovely places for lunch and/or coffee (The White Horse and Terravina) I recommend the shower (cleanest and most efficient in any CL) and I hope we can return before too long. Thank you Tim & Catherine!

Great Place

Have just spent a week at this site. The weather had been very wet and the pitches were of course a little muddy but the ground drained very quickly. Apart from that we were delighted to stay at this CL. Very warm welcome from Tim and Catherine. Spotlessly clean toilet and shower. Perfect pub very close and access very easy. The low flying geese were a spectacle to behold. Thank you Tim and Catherine for making our stay so great.
