We choose this site as we had met family at Wimpole Hall and this CL wasnt far away. There was the option of hard standing as it was November but we didn't need it as the site is well drained. The site is spacious and the grass is very well cut and looked after. The owner was very helpful and friendly. We don't really need electric so didn't want to pay more than £15 but we did use it as it was included. We only had 2 nights but will probably come back another time as there are plenty of places to visit.
We did a long walk from the site one day and also visited Houghton Mill where there a plenty of walks when its not so muddy! On Roys recomendation we also went to Johnsons farm shop in Old Hurst where they have a huge shop, a tea room and a zoo!
If you read back through the reviews you will find repeat visits from members. We are one of them, this being our fifth visit. Although we are using the CL usually en route to a ferry we always stay for 4/5 nights as it's a very pleasant place to stay with lots to interest you in the nearby vicinity. Houghton Mill and a walk from there to St.Ives and maybe back through the Hemingfords or Cambridge via the P&R from St.Ives or a visit to numerous nature reserves like Great Fen at Fen Drayton. There's a local supermarket nearby, Tesco, plus the town itself which has an M&S foodhall and a Sainsbury. St.Ives has a Waitrose.
The site itself is spacious with up to 16 EHU points scattered around. The topography is bumpy but flat bits can be found for pitching. Good spacing generally between pitches. It is 11 amps so beware. Recycling bins and a manageable Elsan. Quite a busy road at the top of the site but quietens at night. Free wifi. Good phone signals. Can be a bit windy at times as it is uphill from Huntingdon. There is an area of hardstanding that could be used in wetter months.
Golden Goose? Well it would appear that the CAMC inspector has suggested that the owner (smashing fellow) increase his prices to £20. Have no idea if he was asked for his advices but I wish he had not proffered an opinion. The owner is more than capable, being a businessman farmer, of deciding his own tariffs. Whatever Mr.Collett decides I daresay we'll be stopping off again should we be in the area.
What a spacious CL,you are spoilt for choice of were to pitch up, Roy is a lovely person & he keeps the site very clean the grass is regularly cut. Also at £15,aday what a bargain, good dog walks from the site, will definitely return. Keep well Roy. Richard & Patricia.
Great site - very well kept, good views, lots of space and Mr Collett smashing and interesting to talk with a while.
Kings Ripton is worth a wander through - beautiful church too.
Easy to get to other places - and we would recommend Wood Walton Fen and Great Fen nature reserves.
Thank you
Amazing quiet site and lovely greeting from owner Roy. Immaculately kept and good views. 222 acres in total (not all the CL) Only ones here but told full next week. Probably due to price £15 to include EHU. Will definitely return
This is our 2nd visit this year and we can honestly say we love the site.
We use it when visiting our son and find it is laid back, spacious and the owners are so friendly.
We love the area for walking. With plenty direct from the site.
We will be back again soon!
This is the most spacious site we have stayed on. It is very well kept and has great views with plenty of walking areas from the site.
We stayed here as we wanted to visit our son who had recently moved to Huntingdon and it was a perfect balance between being close to the town and being able to walk the countryside.
We will definitely be returning to this site again soon.
We stayed on the site for 4 nights May 2022
Lovely laid out site clean tidy and well kept. Very easy to find and access first rate.
Roy the owner was so pleasent had a great arrival welcome and was really helpful giving us a lot of information and even loaned us a local map.
Would definately use this site again and would recommend it.
M&M
We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A very warm welcome from Roy, there was plenty of concrete/gravel for winter parking although we chose grass as it was dry. We would definitely stay here again.
Manor Farm campsite has now become a firm favourite of ours after a recent visit. The hosts are the most wonderful caring people you will ever meet. Lots of grass you can park your unit on, as well as a big hard standing area. Grass is cut on a regular basis so always nice and short. The CL is an adults only site, and a working farm, and it is immaculately clean and tidy. We will be returning to this site as soon as possible.
