Excellent CL!!

First time visit for us and stayed for a week - ditto to all comments noted in previous review. Excellent hosts, excellent location and fantastic views. Monyash Village is within easy walking distance with a good pub/beer garden. Free range eggs and wonderful 'raw' Jersey milk available nearby. Jo even made sure vans were positioned to maximise view etc. LOVED the cows - very friendly and inquisitive. Will certainly be back.

Absolutely spot on.

Wow.. super place great views ideal location about 10 minutes to Bakewell & 15 minutes to Chatsworth. Buxton approximately 20 minutes 9 miles away , we used to use Chatsworth & Buxton CMC sites for separate visits but with this central CL we can visit both from one location. We only stayed 3 nights this time for personal reasons but will definitely be back for longer normally we stay at least a week. Jo & Tom are the perfect hosts of this lovely peaceful cl & yes its on a proper working farm. When we left this morning the cows had other ideas , they had blocked the cattle grid off the field till one of the other members on site.... gently moved them away. Brilliant site.

Stunning week!!

Well what a delightful 10 nights! We have stayed at many cl’s but this one is so stunning. Very friendly hosts jo and Tom and it has been so peaceful!! Come on fellow members... support these lovely people, they put so much effort into providing a top rate cl... grass cuttings are collected, so no grass cutting find their way into the caravan. Just such amazing views and such easy accessibility.

This is 'caravanning' at its best.....

We have just had six nights at this beautiful CL. Really we just confirm what the majority of the other reviews say: this is a peaceful, off-the-beaten-track site with absolutely stunning views. Yes, it is sloping but plenty of extra blocks are provided. The facilities are excellent within their own enclosure at the end of the field with plenty of bins for waste and recycling. The chemical emptying point is a flushing loo set in concrete which is excellent. TV reception is excellent too. There is tree protection as we sampled whilst being buffeted by storm Hannah!!! Tom & Jo are wonderful friendly hosts who come and visit every now and then just to check all is well.. The site is very located for visiting all points of Derbyshire and even for a visit to a National Trust property near Stockport.... Certainly recommend this site if you are looking for somewhere quiet in the depths of beautiful countryside...

Just how a CL should be!

Beautiful, clean, quiet and well maintained CL with stunning views. Location is perfect for exploring Derbyshire and the owners couldn't be more welcoming or helpful - Thank You!! Absolutely everything you need and beautifully maintained. Pitches slope, but not a problem as plenty of blocks readily available. Stayed 5 nights but wish it had been longer - will definitely return.

A Hidden Gem

If you're looking for complete tranquillity in the most beautiful rural setting then look no further. The site is tucked away in a peaceful, elevated position with stunning views, yet is just minutes from the main road, for easy access to Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne, etc. Monyash is a very pretty village about a mile away with a lovely pub. The Tissington Trail for cycling or walking to Ashbourne (13 miles) is just down the road and is well worth doing. Jo and family are so friendly and welcoming, with plenty of local knowledge to share. Highly recommended!

Lovely CL

This was our third visit to this CL and already have our fourth booked in. This site is a rare gem, adult only, dog friendly, great owners, well located and has lovely views of the local countryside. The pitches are spacious and well positioned making sure all units get a great view. A perfect CL.

A perfect hideaway

One of the most well thought out CLs we have stayed at, with the fixtures and fittings artfully blended in to the stunning surroundings. Thoughtful touches, such as the stack of wood blocks, made setting up much easier. The site was gorgeous, tucked away down the long drive and so peaceful. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Although the location is a gorgeous hideaway on the peaks, it was also very convenient for visits to local attractions and towns. There are also some lovely restaurants and pubs in the surrounding area - as well as the picturesque village of Monyash. We can’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be visiting again.

Just as good as they get.

A proper CL! Very well kept field, four well spaced and marked pitches on one side of the field, number five tucked into a corner on the other side. Looked tempting, but a bit wet (soggy April) when we arrived so we stuck to the higher side of the CL. No over booking here. One of the best bin and disposal areas I have seen. Warm welcome. It's all good, and, deep joy, it's Adult Only, so no footballs flying about. We will be returning.

Nice CL.......but those flies...............

As others have said, this is a really nice CL. Very quiet and good views. The slopes shouldn't be an issue to an experienced caravanner. Dog walking was something we didn't have a problem with, in general the cows were well away from the site entrance and it was ok to walk down the access lane. If the cows were hanging about around the site gate i just waited a few moments for them to clear off. My only gripe, and this isn't the owners fault, was the flies ! There were loads of them and if they got into the van they did leave a mess on the surfaces and windows. Anything in the awning too had to be wiped down regularly. When i got home it took quite a while to wash all the "fly poo" off the car and van. This would probably be my reason for not going back.
