All we could ask for and more

A brilliant site. Surrounded by views and fields with livestock to keep us entertained. Particularly impressed by the arrangement for fresh water. Tom and Jo are great hosts, friendly but not intrusive. The local village of Monyash has a great pub and cafe. Walks and cycling are plentiful and it’s well suited to the Tissington and High Peak cycle tracks - former railways and so easy gradients. We spent ten days here and plan to return.

Outstanding site

If you enjoy peace and tranquillity, with only the sound of cows mooing in the background, surrounded by beautiful scenery, this is the site for you. Jo and Tom are delightful, unobtrusive, but extremely helpful hosts. Will we return - YES.

Stunning views and tranquility

Originally booked for 4 nights but ended up staying an extra day as we loved it so much (would've stayed even longer but work beckons). There is a more sheltered pitching area surrounded by trees and a more exposed area which gets the best views across the fields though it slopes more so levelling blocks required. We stayed in the more exposed part and it was fields as far as the eye could see - incredibly peaceful! Our neighbours were the loveliest heard of cows who would stick their heads over the wall of an evening to see what we were cooking that night. Jo and Tom are great hosts, very friendly and accommodating. Booking was easy and Jo welcomed us shortly after we arrived and pitched up to our allocated plot. Monyash village is a short walk away and has a great cafe and a pub - both of which do nice food. If you're up for walking a lot or happy to drive/cycle then this is a beautiful base for the surrounding area with Bakewell, Cromford and Matlock not far away. If you rely more on public transport though then the bus service from Monyash is very hit and miss - only one bus a week to Bakewell when we were here. Will definitely be back for longer next time to explore more of the surrounding areas and unwind on this beautiful little site nestled amongst the farms and fields.

Lovely CL

Just stayed 2 nights en route home. Lovely views and friendly welcome. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer. Nice friendly pub nearby with good food. Would happily return.

Short Stay

We stayed here for 2 nights in May and can say we weren’t very impressed. We arrived and just presumed the empty pitch was ours as no one came to meet us. About 2 hours later the owner knocked on the door asking who we were. She clearly hadn’t booked us in despite us paying a deposit a receiving confirmation. This was all sorted and she said we could stay on the pitch. Maybe if you are staying here just check before travelling that you are booked in. The pitches are very sloping but they provide blocks to level up. There is nowhere to walk your dog off lead so we went to the park in Bakewell which was very nice. As seems to be getting a lot more common there were 6 caravans on the CL which did make it feel a bit tight. There is also another 5 pitch site next to the CL which was full so plenty of people around. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Fantastic Site

Just spent two nights on this lovely site. Jo was a the perfect CL owner very pleasant and helpful. The field was cut short and tidy. The herb garden is a nice touch. Great views and easy walk into Monyash. We will definitely return. Dave and Kim.

Great Site

Thank you Jo and Tom for a lovely relaxing week at your beautiful site. To be honest, there is so much to do and see in this area, we could have done with at least 10 days! Very helpful and good to chat to. Full of local knowledge. The site is well set out with recycling etc, but you do require levelling blocks, having said that, the owners have provided loads of chocks, should you require them during your stay. Great for cyclists and walkers alike. This site is so convenient for all of the popular cycling trails. Tissington and High Peak Trails are within moments of the site and Monsal Trail is at nearby at Bakewell. Beautiful walks abound, pretty villages....again, within moments of the site. There is a really good pub in Moneyash, the Bull's Head. We would certainly recommend staying at Hi,fhlow Farm CL and if we are back in the area in the future, would definitely love to revisit.

Highlow Farm return

Just back after a 7 night stay at Highlow Farm ,our last visit was July 2020. I could say nothing as changed ...but it as , they now have a further 5 pitches & one is a hard standing double pitch for all those members that like to tour with friends or family & have separate pitches you can now share if you want one together. That's a first for me , I've never seen that before on any independent or Cl site. The views are still the same ... outstanding , with wildlife in abundance. Buxton , Bakewell & Chatsworth are just a short drive away. If you enjoy a good pub with good food try the Bulls Head in Monyash village you'll love it. A big thanks to Jo & Tom , we'll be back .😁

Fantastic Scenery

This is such a lovely site, the views are fabulous and site is right in the middle of lovely fields. The welcome from Tom and Jo was lovely who although busy always found time to have a chat. The field is sloping but don’t let that put you off as the area is beautiful.
