A Wessex Wonder

We have just spent two weeks at this lovely C.L., everything about it is outstanding. Zoe and Howard are the most friendly hosts you can find on the C.L. base, the site is pristine with short cut grass, the views and sunsets are to die for , the information centre, waste disposal and recycling station are all very tidy, there is fabulous bacon, eggs and sausages available from Zoe. The site is easy to find, is well sign posted and has a good pull off for your rig when arriving. The local sports and social club at Thorncombe have very reasonably priced drinks and does lovely food. If we are back in Dorset we would love to stay at this brilliant C.L. once again. Thank you Zoe and Howard for letting us stay on your brilliant site, Highly Recommended 5 Star.

Fantastic CL

This cl site is one of the very best, with beautiful views, lots of space and very peaceful. Good fishing pond. Would rate it 11 out of 10. Zoe is a perfect, friendly host. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful location with great hospitality

Amazing view in very quiet tranquil setting. Host Zoe could not have been more helpful or welcoming.. Immaculate pitch with so much space. We stayed on Ehu 4 Quite sloping - you will need ramps or in our case hydraulic levelling. Zoe helpfully had bricks and wood blocks available which we used on our camping table. Dogs on leads due to sheep, chickens and pigs! Great dog walk on site down to the pond. Good access to Lyme Regis and Bridport, but if in motorhome would probably need transport - we took a car. Quick tip - don't follow your sat nav if coming down M5 - go the extra distance towards Axminster, the alternative is hairy, with very few passing spaces. Enjoyed focus on sustainability and environmental measures - green fluid only Water and EHu on pitch, and can park how you like to take advantage of the views First CL we cant wait to make a regular. Thank you

Gem of a site and hosts.

What a gem of a site and hosts. It is like pitching up on the18th green at St Andrews the grass is so well manicured. To be given half a dozen eggs and a bunch of sweetpeas was very much appreciated and made us feel even more welcome. We will certainly be making a return visit.Hence the 5 stars.

Gem of a CL

We stayed here for three nights last week. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Zoe as well as half a dozen free eggs. The site is very well kept, with grass mown and clippings collected. Lovely views across the valley. Ryedale sheep, pigs, hens and ducks to watch which adds to the enjoyment. Zoe and Howard also supply their own sausages and bacon, which are delicious. The facilities have EHU and water on each pitch. The recycling and information provided is excellent. The gates are kept locked which gives you peace of mind for security. The entrance is easily accessed off the road with a good pull in space. There is a dog walk which is also kept mown down to a wildlife pond and they’ve helpfully provided a dog waste bin down by the pond and a seat. Overall this is an excellent site. There is some road noise, but it didn’t bother us. This CL is in a lovely County with lots of interesting places to visit. However, we as Motorhomers did have a problem. It does state that the site slopes, which for caravans probably won’t be a problem. But the site does slope in two different directions, therefore for a Motorhome make it almost impossible to level up. They’ve said there are plans to level up a couple of the pitches, which should help in the future. Because of the slope situation, we’ve reluctantly had to award four stars rather than five.

Great location and very friendly hosts

We spent five nights here and it is a great CL in a wonderful location. Zoe and Howard are excellent hosts, so friendly and helpful, with lots of good suggestions for walks and other places of interest in the local area. The views are beautiful and the dog walk on site down to the pond is a big bonus - as were the lovely eggs form their hens. Everything on site was so well maintained, really clean and well cared for. We would highly recommend this site and hope to come back again soon. Thank you so much, Zoe and Howard.

Great CL - interesting place

We spent five nights here in Oct and thoroughly enjoyed it. Zoe and Howard were very accommodating and friendly, going out of their way to make sure our stay was as good as it could be. The quality of everything was superb for a CL and the views were lovely. Interesting place as it is also a smallholding with unusual breeds of sheep (well they were unusual to me :) Nice to be able to get their own produce for breakfast and well placed to get to the Dorset Coast. Overall a quiet and peaceful stay - will be back!

Fab Little Gem of A Place!

This little site has the most stunning scenery in a very peaceful setting. Zoe greeted us very warmly and then came back with a cream tea! How wonderful! She is a very easy going host, easy to chat too and always around if you need anything. We sampled her own bacon and eggs which was delish. We only wished we’d booked for longer as we only had two nights as we were on route to Cornwall. It’s a great location for visiting Lyme Regis which is lovely but packed! Go early! Shave Inn pub serves great food but wear warm clothes as you have to sit outside in an open marquee, due to Covid regs. We will definitely return.

What a gem!

Greenacres Marshwood is a really lovely CL ... peaceful, well maintained, plenty of space and super views. Access is easy. Zoe and Howard excel as hosts and were very keen to make sure their visitors have a nice stay. They have even created a walk down the field to a large pond which is a magical place to go. Using our electric bikes we found some brilliant rides through pretty villages on quiet lanes and also got down to the coast. Very happy to recommend this CL and hope we can stay again sometime.
