Absolute Gem

First time we have stayed at a CL site, we have always tended to book the larger sites. The two sites are either side of the beautiful house, one being a grass field next to the very quiet road. The other predominantly hard standing set slightly further back. Both back onto fields of sheep. We found the site extremely easy to find, the sat nav was spot on for a change. Peter, the host, came to meet us within 15 mins of our arrival, and was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. There is an information hut with maps, leaflets, suggested walks etc which was helpful. Bibury itself is a 20 mins walk into the village(personally I wouldn’t drive down during the day as it gets very busy and the parking is a bit of a free for all. I feel for the residents as it must drive them mad). We walked along the river to the lovely village of Coln St Aldwyns(around a 6 mile round trip) where there is a lovely local store and tea room. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane, a five minute walk away. The buses are infrequent but we caught the 10.37 into Cirencester which arrived on time, the return journey was spot on too. You can go all the way up to Bourton on the water I believe. The wi-fi is free and extremely good, we managed to watch VIrgin go with no buffering at all so didn’t need to fiddle with the Tv aerial. Each pitch has its own hook up and water and the chemical waste is a very short walk away, although there are no showers or toilets. We couldn’t find any negatives at all with the site, if you want peace and quiet in a lovely surrounding then it’s perfect.

a lovely adults only CL with fully serviced pitches

Very easy to find this site travelling down the M5. Although Bibury can be busy with tourists, the site sits quietly away from the throng of visitors and yet is still an easy walk into the village for meals/drinks at the 2 local hotels/pubs. We now prefer hardstanding pitches with full services and Orchard Lodge ticks all the boxes. We stayed for 2 weeks with lots to see and do in the area. Cirencester is only a few miles away and is a lovely town and has a plentiful choice of shops. Peter and Julie are very welcoming and even sell lovely produce from their garden. Would highly recommend the site.

A cracking site for the perfect break

A lovely well maintained site in the perfect location as a base or local walks. The owners are absolutely fantastic from the point of welcome, friendly chats, a change to purchase their home grown veg & more. All pitches are well maintained with plenty of space, good tv signal, Wi-Fi & info but. The perfect break. Thank you

Another lovely stay at Orchard Lodge

This is a great CL, as was our 6th stay here, A lovely greeting on arrival from Julie and Peter. There are many places to visit from here, only a 20-minute walk to Bibury, plus many other destinations easily reached by car, great eateries recommended by our hosts, also a visit to the "Classic Car Motor Hub" recommended by them and well worth a visit. Our thanks to them both for making us so welcome, We will be back.

A great touring base

Welcomed on arrival by Peter and given useful information pack and some good local info. The CL had everything we like in a peaceful site, fully serviced hard standing pitches and no dogs. The free wifi was an unexpected bonus and very useful to plan our 7 days. It was a great base for touring the local villages but our favourite day was exploring Cirencester just down the road, a lovely town with all you need for provisions and a good choice of shops, cafes and restaurants. The local lanes and tracks make for great walking and even better cycling. Having moved on to a newly refurbished club site we came to the conclusion that we’ll definitely be sticking to CLs such as Orchard Lodge in future.

Little Gem of a Site

We had 3 nights at this lovely site in July 2023. The set up is excellent and the pitches are spacious and level. We greatly benefitted from the enhanced pitches with each one having its own tap and facility to drain grey water! A super pitch in all but name! Easy access to the site with good roads and the gated entrance gives a sense of security along with 24hrs CCTV. On arrival the welcome from the host Peter was warm and very helpful. He provided site information and maps of the area and advised us on local walks and places of interest. The site has a well stocked information hut. In fact this site seems like a Caravan Club site rather than a CL apart from the fact that there is no toilet block! Extremely pleased with our stay here, we would definitely recommend it!

Excellent Site

This site has everything we look for when booking a CL - level pitches, individual water taps, adult only and no dogs!! It makes us sound antisocial but we have been dog owners and brought up children and now we look for the quiet life while we are away!! Julie and Peter made us so welcome and work hard to look after and please their guests. We heartily agree with the other glowing reviews so I will say no more except we wish we could have stayed longer and we certainly hope to be back.

An excellent site within the Cotswolds

We have recently begun caravanning again and came across this site by chance last year. We have recently been again and this site is a credit to the certified locations, and does not allow dogs, wonderful!!

Happy Campers

We stayed at Orchard Lodge in early July as a last minute getaway. How lucky were we to stumble across such a beautifully maintained CL right in the heart of the Southern Cotswolds with super friendly and helpful owners. I cannot fault the site in anyway - it is just how I would design my own CL. The site is very private & is set well back from the actual gated entrance. It has EHU & a private water supply/tap to each pitch, has a discrete Elsan point, offers recycling, free Wi-Fi & has an excellent information room. The access to the site is very good even with a large outfit & all the pitches are level with views across an open field. There is so much to do in the surrounding area whilst staying at Orchard Lodge. For example, we cycled to the source of the River Thames near Tetbury, did a few local walks in & around Bibury & visited a number of the stunning villages that the Cotswolds is renowned for. The local pub is excellent as is the trout from the trout farm in the village. We cannot wait to return later in the season.

Fantastic Site

Lovely location both views from the site and also accessibility to the Cotswold area. The owners were very friendly, without being intrusive, and they produce some delicious vegetables, which are on sale, if you wish to purchase. We were also given lots of local knowledge including walks etc. The site itself is extremely well kept and clean and individual water taps are very useful. It is probably the best kept CL we have visited.
