Fantastic weekend

Arrived on Friday afternoon to be met by owner who explained where everything was and gave us a map of local footpaths for dog walking. Very impressed with site, very clean. Well spaced out hardstanding pitches. We found the planes fascinating especially after downloading the ap recommended on site to see where the planes had come from. Didn't find the noise a problem. Another bonus was being able to see the stars. We visited Kenilworth Castle and took a walk along the 21 locks at Hatton. We will defiantly use this site again.

Ideal stopover

We stayed at Gate Farm for just the one night to break our journey home from Derbyshire to Wiltshire and it was a perfect choice! It's fairly new on the network, open less than a year ago but has everything you could ask from a no frills CL. Easy access following the very clear directions available on the website, secure entry/exit via sensor activated gateway, 5 large HS pitches plus an extra EHU point on the grass if you prefer that. Nice rural outlook - we were kept entertained by the two horses in the adjoining field! The Heart of England Way footpath passes right by the entrance to the site so good for dog walking and close by is the Saracens Head pub which does a 2 for 1 offer on pizzas through the week. The only slight downside is that the farm is on the flight path from Birmingham Airport so you do get some plane noise from time to time but to be honest, even on a busy bank holiday weekend the noise was not really intrusive and added a bit of interest in trying to identify the various airlines! Susie and her partner have obviously put a lot of hard work into establishing the site and hopefully will get plenty of support from members.
