Booked last minute for a 3 night weekend stay. Booking was all done online by email with prompt replies and the feeling that the owner went above and beyond for us. Site was easy to find, easy to pitch and very well kept. We're dog owners and were pleased to find that there was a well maintained dog walk onsite away from the road etc. The serviced pitches were a bonus too.
Nearby Gardenstown is a lovely small harbour town with a car park at one end where MH may stay overnight for a small fee. There's an honest box at the entrance.
A beautiful part of the country and well worth a visit.
Great CL
Had five night at this lovely CL.on our four week tour of Scotland. Very tidy good hard standing on serviced pitches. Welcoming friendly owner who provides information. Easy access. Peaceful and quiet Lovely area to visit, an area we have never visited before, and the coastline really is stunning. Can recommend the walk from Gardenstown to Crovie. The beaches are lovely admittedly we were there when the weather was lovely! For some reason the free wifi hardly worked on the phones, although worked fine on lap top.
Lovely welcome, great site, fantastic area,
Spent 4 nights on this lovely peaceful CL this week. Linda and Michael were way when we arrived so we were initially met by Linda's brother (Roy?) who made sure we had everything we needed and brought us a local information leaflet. Linda is a charming and welcoming host with lots of knowledge about the local area. As motorhomers themselves Linda and Michael know what we need - water and drainage on each pitch is really appreciated. There is so much to see in the area with lot of small harbours and beaches. We spent much of our time just watching the fishing boats come and go. The local people were very welcoming and happy to talk to us and recommend places to visit. We had the best fish and chips in a long time from the Dolphin at Macduff - highly recommended (thanks for the suggestion Linda!). We will be definitely return.

Great c.l.
This is a fantastic c.l., extremely well laid out with water and waste point to each pitch, even waste hose provided ready to connect, and a fresh water hose provided. Or you can fit your own Aquaroll style connector direct to the tap as needed. Bins and chemical disposal to far top corner of the site, with water to clean out container, all immaculately kept. Pitches gravel hardstanding, with timber board surrounds board to separate from the grass. similar to many main CAMC sites. In fact if it wasn't for the number of pitches you could be on a main site. Linda so friendly and helpful, chatting each time she came on site, and advising on local area. My wife and I visited Macduff Marine Aquarium, very interesting and informative, smaller scale than Sea Life centres but much less commercial! Special offer on at time of our visit April giving free access to another three Aberdeenshire attractions, we had time to visit Scottish Lighthouse centre at Fraserburgh(Kinnaird Head), again very interesting, including a guided tour to the top of the old lighthouse with a gentleman Michael - extremely knowledgeable. Another visit we made was to RSPB Troup Head reserve, around ten minutes drive, involves a ten or fifteen minute walk from reserve car park - well worthwhile - to the coastal cliffs where many sea birds nesting and mating at this time of year. Fantastic views along the coastal headlands. Do visit Pennan where the 'famous' telephone box sequence in film 'Local Hero' was done, keep putting the ten p's in the slot - oh happy memories of old style phones!! The site is a credit to the owners, and our sincere thanks to you. We would recommend to all. Ian and Elma.

Lovely peaceful site
Arrived Friday midday and had the option of 4off available piches. All large enough for my twin axle unit, awning and car although there was separate parking areas if required. Pitches were level and on a slight slope but nothing major. Brilliant touch with providing water supply hose and waste water pipe all already connected, just final connection to caravan required. Electrics 10 amp and toilet emptying close to hand along with recycling facilities. Large field adjacent to site for dog walking and site is totally fenced in also for added security. Well placed for visiting all the nearby fishing villages and main towns. Gardenstown to Crovie is a must walk along the coast, Pennan. Rosehearty, Portsoy ,Cullen and many other coastal villages are all worth visits. Main towns of Banff and Macduff are ideal for main shop.
Would definitely return and recommend to friends as an ideal quiet and peaceful site. Linda is an ideal host with plenty of knowledge and being a motorhomer herself knows what is required on site.

What a beauty
We stayed here a few weeks back on a tour of Scotland and it was by far the best CL we visited. The welcome from Fran (the owner was on holiday herself) was grand. He arrived within minutes of our arrival, very concerned that we hadn’t been given log in details for the WiFi on the phone when we called to book, just an hour or so earlier. WiFi on a CL - amazing! He recommended a smashing walk to the old church and then along the beach to Gardenstown. It’s a beautiful place - you could wander along those little pathways for ages. We discovered the pub in the village and locals suggested we extend our walk to Crovie. Stunning. Yes it’s a steep old climb back up but if you enjoy a bit of exertion it is highly recommended. And if you don’t, then there’s a car park at the top of the Crovie Road - still a steep walk but much shorter. If you are anywhere near, then don’t miss this CL - you won’t be disappointed.
Our visit to Gamrie Bay
Arrived on site Saturday afternoon (16th Sep) and while Linda and Malcolm had advised that they would be away but we would be met by her brother Francis during our visit.. We had set up and within about an hour or so Francis came to welcome us to the site which was a really nice touch after making sure we were ok he left us to our own devices. We used the site to take in the natural beauty of the area, really wonderful and great to see the local fishing villages, full of history of Crovie and Gardenstown. The site is well maintained and the pitches being fully serviced is a boon. On the evening before we left Francis came to see how we had enjoyed the stay we mentioned that the Heritage centre had been closed in Gardenstown just in passing, he offered to try to get the keys that evening to go and see the Heritage Centre, he tried so hard but unfortunately he was unable to get the keys and came back to our van to say sorry he really went out of his way for us and it was appreciated. To sum up an smashing 3 days on a excellent site with a friendly welcome and approach to our stay definitely be back in the future to this great peaceful site.
Brilliant CL
Excellent cl ,well laid out, with water and drainage on each pitch. The owner Linda is very welcoming, and friendly and very supportive of the local community. We would certainly recommend this CL
Buchan's Best
We visited this site in June for the first time, although we've been to the area many times before. The site is easy to find and access is good, Lovely Linda came to greet us soon after we arrived. The pitches are hard standing and the surrounding grass is neatly mown and the bins are regularly emptied. What a bonus to have your own electric hook up and water supply on the pitch. There are views to open fields from the site. This east coast area is so pretty, rolling fields and quaint old fishing villages. Visits to Gardenstown, and Pennan are a must. The roads are narrow and steep so Motorhomers take a bike or walk down. There's a good fish and chip shop with a little restaurant in New Pitsligo. In nearby Banff there's a Tesco and other shops. Aberdonians are lovely welcoming folk, so go and enjoy!
