Home from home

We have been coming to Fairboroughs for over 20 years if that’s not a recommendation I don’t know what is, As you approach the farm there is a security gate press the button signed caravan and the gate will be opened make your way down the tree lined drive into the farm yard where you will be met by Diane or one of the the Lowe family Who will give you your key fob for the gate and details of where to pitch . There are 4 hard standing and one grass pitch you will need levelling blocks on the grass pitch which they can supply each pitch has electric and your own water tap . The site is very quiet apart from the sheep bleating you might see the resident herd of deer passing through , with panoramic views and plenty to see and do it is a great site don’t hesitate to ask any of the Lowes if you have any questions about your stay they are all very approachable. P. s. It also has a holiday cottage for non caravaners.

A gem of a site in rolling countryside.

This site is a little gem situated on the edge of the Peak district with easy access to much of the National Park. The views from our caravan were lovely, and one could see for miles with sheep grazing in front. There is even a resident herd of wild deer roaming around with some good size stags. Leek is very close and is a charming town full of old buildings and history not to mention the markets. Diane is always on hand for information and is very helpful and friendly.

Two night stay.

A very enjoyable stay. A warm welcome on arrival. The entrance to the farm and site are very well kept and the view from the field is amazing. All Civid 19 regulations were met and we felt very safe in our surrounding. Well worth a return visit.

12 night stay

From the warm welcome we received to the bid farewell when we left i cannot fault to host's, we would like to thank them for a wonderful stay. Site is easy to find from the directions provided, the site is very peaceful with views over the valley. We encountered the woodpecker, Buzzard and deer whilst we were on site. Yes there is a slight slope, extra wood chocks are provided. My view is that an extra 5 minutes setting up is well worth it. We were blessed with lovely weather so this helped make it a memorable break, just what we needed. We would recommend this site to anyone, although please leave some space for our return!! A credit to the owners, i wish all CL's were like this. There is plenty to see and do in the area, we went on walks around Rudyard Lake, boat trips available, small train rides along the lake to enjoy. Goyt valley & the roaches are a must to visit.

Hits the spot!

Having spent a much needed and relaxing bank holiday on this CL then its only fair to pass on our thanks for running a great little CL!. Yes, the site is slightly sloping but pitching was very easy, with a selection of levelling blocks at each pitch IF you need to use them, we didn't......and I would dispute the need for a 4x4 as previously commented on,granted this is my opinion, however the addition of the anticipated additional hard standing tracks for pitching on would be brilliant. Great views, easy access, great hosts who welcomed us, and visited the site to chat during the weekend without being over powering or "in your face" , everything you want in a CL!! The shower on site was warm and welcoming, clean and now included in the site fee, NOT the additional £1 as per previous reviews (upgraded). I shall not rave to much about this CL as it may hinder being able to get on site in the future. My only request is maybe a small folder with local attractions, walks, pubs, things to do etc for those visitors not knowing the area, however, that said, with a small amount of driving around the area, we found some great pubs, a narrow gauge steam railway track and coffee shop,a small brewery, plenty of walks around reservoirs, forests and canals and a really warm welcome from Toby the dog on our return to the van (N.B Toby can smell the whiff of a BBQ from the farmhouse......... Will we return........? without a doubt. Thank you.

Will Return.

This is our first time at a cl site so we did not know what to expect or to what we should compare it to but here go's. Good points - Lovely, peaceful area with large pitch area's. Met a lovely couple who had been in the CC for over 25 years, they were polite and helpful. Not so good - As stated in the handbook this site is on a slope which for us was quite dificult to get our car and caravan up as we do not have a 4x4. It has to be said though that it had rained a lot and the area had drained well. £1 for a shower is too expensive. Overall - we will certainly use this site again especially when we get that 4 wheel drive!

Weekend break

This is a truly peaceful sight with lovely views. The large area means plenty of space between pitches. Shower facilities were very clean but be aware that at £1 for 7 minutes (I'd call it more like 5!) then this can add considerably to the cost! There is nothing within walking distance but Leek is only 5 minutes away. The ground is pretty uneven so go prepared as we had to hunt around for pieces of wood to level us up.
