What a delightful place to stop. Probably the best CL we have been on. Very well kept, excellent facilities and a friendly family. Views were wonderful, we identified nearly 40 woodland birds. Only down side was the weather, ah well you cant have everything.
Fantastic small site with beautifully spaced panoramic pitches with EHU, water and grey waste into hedgerows all for a very very reasonable inclusive rate. Warm welcome and support from owners. Highly recommended.
Super and very beautiful CL. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute. The views are wonderful, We saw several large red Deer in the adjacent field. The pitches are large, hardstanding, each with its own water point, but they can be sloping. (levelling blocks required). The Toilet and Shower room was in good condition and kept clean on a daily basis. This was the first time we have been in the Leek area in the summer and what an absolute suprise. The surrounding area is breathtaking. We will definitely revisit
What a gem,a lovely site, very handy for a lot of interesting locations, the family are very obliging, nothing is too much trouble, pitches are really good & the site is very secure, with a gating system, The Royal Oak just down the road does fantastic meals & good ales etc, we will definitely return.
Stayed 4 nights at this beautiful CL on the edge of the Peak District. The road access is good and the site is well laid out with plenty of room between pitches. The pitches are on hard standing but sloping so you'll need levelling blocks. It had been raining the week before but ground seemed well drained although you have to drive over the grass to some pitches; all have scenic views and water points. The farm is accessed via a secure gate and you're given a key fob on arrival.
The site is in a beautiful location and very peaceful with only the bleat of lambs to break the silence, there are walks along the quiet lanes but you'll need transport to visit places of interest. During our stay we walked around Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir and further afield, Wolfscote Dale, we were going to walk up the Roaches but it was too windy. Thanks Diane for another enjoyable stay and looking forward to returning again in the near future.
We stayed here in order to visit a friend in Rudyard. The site has lovely views and a shower and toilet. The family welcomed us and were most helpful. We decided that walking into Rudyard might take longer than we had anticipated so drove the motorhome there (unusual for us as we usually manage by bus or walking). We were on a hard standing but had to drive over grass to reach it and it was on a bit of a slope. We only stayed 2 nights so did not explore the area as much as we might have done but Rudyard Lake is spectacular.
From our first contact with Diane to leaving, everything could not have been better. Well maintained and serviced hard standing pitches each with enough space to have privacy and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Interesting and varied sights and activities within easy walk, electric bike ride or car. Our host was a genuine host, passionate about what they are doing and eager to make you welcome and enjoy your visit. We cant wait to come back.
We loved the peace and tranquillity of this site, it’s in a beautiful location. There are sheep, hens, ducks and horses. We were told we could walk our dog on the farm, provided she was kept on the lead. I thoroughly enjoyed our daily walks, with all that stunning scenery to enjoy. The pitches slope, so blocks needed. I used the shower, which was disappointing. It kept going from too hot to cold and was little more than a spray. I wanted to clean up after, but there wasn’t anything there, no mop or anything. I know the CLs don’t have to provide a shower but if they do, it should be better and cleaner.
This is a beautiful site with fully serviced, hardstanding pitches well spaced out on a slightly sloping field. We were pitched in the old orchard as the site was full and is situated next to the cl. The views are far reaching and deer are regularly seen in the surrounding fields. There are facilities which were very clean. During our stay, we walked over the Roaches, 3 Shires Head, Tittesworth and Rudyard reservoirs, Manifold valley and Wolfscote and Biggin Dales; these are all within 30 minute drive. Leek is a few miles away for provisions. The surrounding lanes are quiet and suitable for cycling. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
