Stunning views

We are just back from a two night stay at this lovely CL. We live about an hour away. We have recently changed back from motorhoming to a caravan, via a campervan or two in-between! We were looking for a CL not too far away, for just a couple of nights, to 'shake down' our van and get back into practice setting up. That's how we discovered this gem of a site. The CL is on a working farm but there isn't any noise intrusion at all. There are some cute goats, a pony and a horse in an adjacent paddock. The animals were all very quiet. If you have dogs who are reactive (ours weren't) the far side of the site is plenty far away enough for you to have space away from them. The site is pretty level, though our 'out of practice' skills and the rain, showed (as well as the discovery that our spirit level wasn't mounted in the right place, back to the marbles it is)! and we didn't get our left/right bang on but front/back we did! It was near enough for two nights though. The site is all very well kept grass with a quiet woodland walk directly from the site. There's a delightful 'sunset bench' for you to discover. The views are absolutely stunning all round. The toilet and shower are in an outhouse, basic but clean. Sharon was friendly and welcoming. She supplied us with information we would need on arrival and I'm sure if we had needed anything, would have been more than willing to help. Electricity is now coin metered, I think to counter-act the more recent breed of campers who seem to bring every electric appliance they own with them. Sharon gives you a couple of pound coins for each night of your stay. Over and above that, you might need to top up. We aren't the sort of campers who watch TV or use anything other than the basics, water pump, fridge and lighting after dark. We use gas to cook and make a cuppa. We still had about a quid left on the meter and another one in our pocket when we left! You can choose where to pitch. If you need longer cables, (we didn't as we carry two) you can help yourself to a loan from Sharon. This gives you flexibility about where you want to pitch up. We chose to go towards the bottom South/Western corner, using the delightful horseshoe shape foliage as a sheltered area in which to sit out and enjoy the sun and the peace and quiet. There's an abundance of birds to watch. There's also peace and quiet in spades. Despite this site being almost on our doorstep, we will definitely return. If you are not familiar with this part of Yorkshire, add it to your 'To Do' list and definitely take in a stay at East Leys. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely peaceful site

This was our first visit here and hopefully we will visit again. The site is well spaced out with the grass kept short. We were welcomed by the owner who was friendly and helpful. £20 per night, and the owner gives you back £2 per night in £1 coins for the ehu meter which was perfectly adequate for our needs in April. You can add more if needed or go home with coins if not needed. This is one of the more peaceful sites we have stayed on despite being a working farm there was very little noise. It was a true CL with only 5 outfits, no extra outfits behind a hedge as a separate site as you sometimes get. The toilet and separate shower were kept clean. There is a dog walk around the edge of the farm. Easy access into Bridlington and lots to do within a short drive.

Ideal base for exploring East Coast.

We have just had a lovely 5 days at East Leys Quiet, secluded and ideal site for exploring. Bridlington, Bempton, Flamborough 10 mins away. Filey 15 mins and Scarborough less than 30. Major supermarkets in Brid, Filey and Scarbough. Don't let the new meter system for elctric put you off. Electric cost us £20 for 5 days, but Sharon gave us £2 a dayp. So electric cost us £10 for 5 days. and we had the heating on every day. Don't go home without a visit to Flamborough Lighthouse to see the Seals and Yorkshires own Durdle Dor. Lovely walks around the cliffs. If you go when it is warmer you might see crazy people jumping out of planes with parachutes on the airfield next door..lol (our g/daughter did it)..

great site

We have just return from a 4 night stay at this cl What a great site! the access to the site was excellent i wish the A roads were as good. We had a warm welcome from the owner and shown where to pitch the site as good views across the fields and there is a good dog walk. There is a lot to do and see in the area and 4 nights is not long enough so we will be back next year and stay for longer and hopefully stay on this site. Look forward to seeing you next year. Mixed reviews

This site is beautiful, well kept, quiet, secluded, away from road noise and should be a pleasure to stay at. The shower/ toilet facilities were open, basic but clean, there was a lack of cleaning materials re Covid. We personally found the site not very welcoming. We didn’t get a warm welcome from the host and felt unwelcome throughout our stay. Efforts were made by us to speak to the hosts but it wasn’t reciprocated. The dog walk needs a little attention, this was essentially a walk around the edges of a crop field/ woods which meant very wet feet/ legs, lots of flies and no poo bins. I would say this site accepts dogs but isnt “dog friendly.” Overall a lovely site if you want a total switch off and good value for money.

Wonderful CL

What a lovely CL! We stayed for 3 nights last week as we were lucky to ring last minute and they had a cancellation. Its a great, flat field, very clean and tidy with nice short grass. 3 water taps to serve the 5 pitches so youre never far from one. Sharon gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our pitch, by the apple tree, looking over the ponies and goats in the paddock. The woodland dog walk on site was just great too and a lot of effort put in to make it nice. I can't comment on the toilet/showers as they are understandably closed due to the pandemic. Please note, the price is currently £15 per night not £17 as stated on this website. Great location for visiting Brid, Filey, Flamborough and beyond!

A lovely site

We managed to get a pitch due to a cancellation and we were so lucky. It is a lovely site and the owners were very friendly and welcoming even though we all had to take care and follow the rules because of Covid. It is also peaceful and easy to visit places in the area. We enjoyed our stay and will be going back again.

God's country

This is an exceptional site run by a friendly couple We only left the place today and it was clear this is a "Repeat booking" site, as all the caravanning families here visited regularly. Nothing was too much trouble for owners Robin and Sharon. The location was idyllic and a quiet, well ordered site, set well back from the road guaranteed a peaceful holiday. The shower issue mentioned has now been resolved (As mentioned by a previous reviewer) We will go back soon without hesitation. Highly recommended to anyone considering this location.Thankyou so much again
