very poor site to get to and owner quite rude

Just visited this cl. Site ok but very difficult to get too. Had to stop and ask 2 people both gave different directions. When we came to a dead end road the only direction was abridle way and of course towing a caravan you do not go down there. We parked and I walked down that way and found the CL was down there but no signs to say go that way. We parked up and not even got our legs down and the owner arrived straight away and the first thing he said was have you paid. we said no and he left.We were only there for 2 nights. He came back later that day and asked for the money. We told him how difficult we found to get to the site and he said well no-one had complained and was very rude and would not accept our complaint. After speaking to 2 others on the site they both said they had had trouble finding the site and they found him quite rude as well. We would not recommend this site to anyone else.

GREAT CL SITE!

We stayed here for 3 nights over the August Bank Holiday. Directions to the site were good as was access. We had a choice of pitches as advised by Ron the owner who met us very soon after arrival. ll were flat and level, making set up quick and easy. The site is South facing and has mature trees on one side. Bins, fresh water and the chemical disposal point were close by. You have a lovely view out across a large field and the site is really quiet. We and our dog made good use of the bridleways and footpaths, accessible immediately from the site. We ate out one lunchtime at the Seven Stars, just off the village green, which is community owned and served good food, with a good selection of beers. It is a 10 minute walk from the site. Overall a great CL site and one we will definitely return to.

Great CL with lovely walks

This is a really nice CL, access is very easy, following the directions given and helped by the fact that the turn towards the village is within a 20mph speed limit, between the entrance and exit gates of Harcourt Arboretum (which is well worth a visit, especially in bluebell season). The site is a good sized paddock, flat and level and even after a full night of rain we and a large motorhome got off without issues. The pitches are clearly marked with EHU close by and water and tipping points were fine, with waste and recycling bins on the access driveway. There are a myriad of footpaths and bridleways surrounding the site and we did two lovely loop walks from the site. We also visited Greys Court NT and Waterperry Gardens, both about 30mins away and the arboretum, which you could walk to easily enough. Loads of wildlife around the site, kites, woodpecker and muntjac to name a few. Ron the owner drove over to meet us as we arrived and popped over again the next day and was very friendly. Nothing to fault at all and just what we want in a CL.

What A Great Place To Stay

As the title says, this is a great little CL in the Oxfordshire country side. The site is level, flat and quite sheltered. Ron is very friendly, knowledgeable about all sorts, amiable and chatty too, so you are made to feel welcome. We had a very windy start to the week but the weather got better the longer we stayed. Lots of national Trust Houses and places to visit and not more than an hours drive away and Oxford is easily accessible by the Park and Ride, a short journey away. The local pub in the village does excellent fish and chips (a bit pricey but well worth it) and other food too. Good atmosphere. In short, we shall definitely return to this little gem of a site. Great for a quiet week and the sheep are friendly too; they are great to watch, especially when the shepherd drops in to feed them !!. Martin and Susan, Caravanners.

Orion August 23

We had another lovely peaceful stay on this cl. It was tranquil even on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Open views of fields, lovely walks from site with evening sunsets. Ron is very welcoming and helpful. He keeps the field in good order. We will definitely be back and would recommend this site if you want a peaceful stay in the Oxfordshire countryside with easy access to the city.

Lovely peaceful site

Great little spot. Simple, beautiful, peaceful... lovely village with a nice pub (and another nice pub a short drive away) and very close to Oxford. We have family nearby so this will definitely be the regular base we're looking for.

Excellent CL

Stayed for 3 nights, very quiet and peaceful, open views and excellent dog walks straight from the site. Grass well mown and pitches clearly marked. Right on the edge of the village of Marsh Baldon which is a very pretty village. Owner of site very friendly and welcoming. Had a good meal at the Seven Stars in the village and an excellent Sunday lunch at the Coach and Horses at Chiselhampton while doing a circular walk. The Crazy Bear at Stadhampton is also walkable to and worth a visit - definitely crazy!! All in all, can highly recommend and we will certainly return.

Quiet country CL

When we initially arrived we were very concerned that all the pitches were taken. But Mr Wells quickly arrived and explained that due to a medical emergency one of the vans needed to stay longer than planned. We set up off grid for the night in a large space opposite the vans and by 9:30 the next morning we were on our allotted pitch. The site is well situated both for Oxford and for walking directly out onto Oxfordshire’s footpaths with two great pubs just a short walk away. We will certainly look to stay here again as it ticks all the boxes of a great site.

Fantastic CL

Fantastic CL and surroundings. Extremely well tended. Ron was very accommodating and we will definitely be returning. We have stayed at a lot of CLs in our time and this is one of the best. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
