Peace and quiet guaranteed.

We have just spent 8 lovely nights at this gem of a site. Very well kept with short grass, 16 amp hook up and lovely views over the fields with red kites flying close by. The site is very secluded with walks straight from the site. There are park and ride facilities for Oxford and Abingdon nearby. Also 2 lovely Country Pubs, our favourite was The Mole. Ron the owner is very attentive and likes to stop for a quick chat when he is passing. We were also able to purchase some free range eggs from a farm close to the entrance. We found the site easily following the Clubs directions and not sat nav. Also despite other comments the access was easy and we have a big twin axle caravan. I cannot recommend this site enough. We will definitely return.

A cracker of a CL

We did have difficulty in finding the CL as we didn't spot the CAMC sign until it was too late and the coordinates in the Club handbook are of the old site . Please use the following coords instead: N 51 - 41 - 28, W 001 - 10- 52 The photo shown above is off the old location and does a disservice to the amazing CL that it is today. New photos have been sent to the CAMC for inclusion but who knows when they will get around to posting them. Once you know where you are going, access is fine if taken slowly. The Club CL sign is approx 10ft high on a telegraph pole. The CL is level, plenty of space for 5 vans and the grass is kept short by Ron and his daughter. Ideally located for Oxford, the Park and Ride is only a few miles away. Only a short walk to the local pub. Super welcome from Ron and he is always around for a chat. Lovely bloke, a real character even made us his assistant wardens for the day!

A JEM in the Oxfordshire countryside

This is my second stay with Ron at Durham Leys, the site is always spick and span and Ron is a lovely friendly host. The site is well drained and level on the 5 pitches, access is easy, whatever your skills and the map provided by the local pub is a great help. There is no road noise at all and the outlook is exceptional looking onto open fields. The 5 spacious pitches have power and shared access to drinking water and chemical toilet emptying facilities. For the walkers among you there are miles of footpaths just outside the gate, with the village green a few paces away, i would also recommend the Seven Stars community pub again just a short walk away. I struggle to understand what more you could want from a site. Don't understand the review by JohnWebster regarding access and having to use his motor mover and can only assume he is an inexperienced tower, while i was there i saw several twin axel vans and none seemed to have an issue.

Very Wet stay- but made welcome

We booked to stay in what had been a very wet period. The actual pitches were too waterlogged to be used without churning up the grass- but Ron had planned ahead & arranged for us to stay on the entrance, which was a hard standing. We were the only van. Easy to find, asked at the local Seven Stars pub- sat nav would have taken us a shorter, but unsuitable route. Not sure how you could cope when pub closed on Monday & Tuesday- suggest including the ‘pub map’ on the picture file for site. Long rigs may have problems turning out of the site; ditch in front & neighbours metal post at entrance. We used a motor mover which was fine. Great site, very quiet from road traffic & the adjacent bridle way was ideal for dog walks. Very convenient for all local attractions. Could not see any recycling facilities, but this might have been because of the very wet field. Look forward to returning when we can use the actual pitches. Other reviews have said that they were narrow- we thought that they were generously spaced & field had nice views. Ron could not have been more helpful & we look forward to returning.

Just as good as our first visit

The area is just as lovely and quiet as when we visited almost 12 months ago, although coming up to the August Bank Holiday weekend the site was full. We just love listening to the owls hooting as we go to sleep and waking up to the calls of the Red Kites. The CL is very well kept, with the grass mown short and no mowings that inevitably walk into the van and car. It's so good here we are very likely to be back again before the end of the year.

Peaceful and tranquil

Recently returned from spending a happy, restful few days at this delightful CL. The electric hook ups to one side backing on to the trees and country lane means that the site is virtually traffic noise free with the field of horses to both sides with trees and meadow behind. The site is flat and all grass with all facilities close at hand. The wildlife watching includes deer, green woodpecker and regular visits from the red kites. The two interesting NT houses close by, Nuffield Place and Basildon Park are worth a visit, not to mention Oxford and Henley on Thames of course. We will be back.

Excellent Site

We stayed at this CL for a long weekend as we were visiting our daughter who lives in Oxford. We found this site to be situated in a idyllic location, and within walking distance of the community public house which served amazing food. The owner of the site came to introduce himself and was exceedingly helpful and friendly. We will certainly be visiting this site again!

A CL worth visiting

My wife and I visited this CL in early June following a rally in the Stratford on Avon area. The approach to the site was easy if you follow the instructions and was a delightful surprise when we entered the gates. We had the site to ourselves so pitched wherever we chose but it would have made little difference as the whole field was beautifully mowed and flat and the View across the field was excellent. All the facilities are easily accessible and clean. It was quiet and peaceful and we would happily return in the future. We were visited by owner later in the day and made very welcome. The local village is pleasant and as others have said has a huge village green. We had a visit to the local community run pub and were made very welcome as soon as we entered the door. A good location ,especially for access to Oxford and a number of surrounding attractions. Plenty of local walks. Great CL

Excellent CL ....beautifully kept

This is a level site which is beautifully kept. The adjacent paddocks are in excellent order and of good size so the area feels open. We are cyclists and hope to cover the 6 miles into Oxford on a route where sections run alongside the Thames. The benefit of electric hook is welcome in today’s well spec units and the 16A stops any tripping of CB even with electric heating. I would highly recommend this CL and we will certainly visit again when meeting up with our son atUniversity.
