An excellent choice

A well kept tidy site. Very pretty. A warm and friendly welcome was received. We shall definitely recommend, and will visit again.

So good we stayed an extra night

A thoroughly enjoyable stay on a nicely laid out site with water and waste disposal close to hand and easy to navigate. So much to see in the area and the coast a short drive away as was Bala. However I wouldn't recommend the drive over the mountain pass to Bala unless you don't mind driving along the edge of a cliff !!! Mrs Anwyl was very welcoming and liked a natter, which was very helpful providing a lot of local knowledge. Her son Brychan was very helpful as well and it was good to chat with him as he embarked on a new venture, a new machine for he farm, proving the cutting and splitting of logs. Despite not being able to get a radio signal, and who cares, we had books, we had a really lovely time. We'll certainly be returning.

A Last Minute Stop Off

After a telephone request to Mrs Anwyl we arrived just before dark to a warm welcome and were shown where to pitch. Although the shower and toilet are advertised they do close during the winter, so you do need to be fairly self sufficient. The Elsan point is conveniently set in the middle of the driveway for ease of use. Fresh water is nearby. Mrs Anwyl's son, Brychan, made himself known to us and was humorous, amiable, and added to our enjoyment of this site. We enjoyed a stroll down into the nearby village of Bont Dolgadfan, although there isn't really much there, just a few houses and a bridge over the river. All in all a lovely overnight visit, we will be back.

disappointed

It is with sadness that I give this site a poor rating. Unfortunately the welcome we had was not as in other reviews. We really didn't want to be asked if we would be using the facilities (which were very good) or to be told that the electricity bill was very high! The lady who was directing us as to where we could site our motor home clearly had no idea regarding to safe distances between vehicles or health and safety (such as under trees!). We only stayed one night, changing our plans and booking a second night on a more welcoming and professionally run site.

Fantastic site

We were welcomed by Gwenda who was very helpful, and returned later to give us a walking guide of walks from the site. This was very useful. We also met her 2 sons who were both very friendly and always took time to speak to us. The toilet and shower were well kept. We arrived not knowing Gwenda and her sons, but left feeling that we were friends. Beautifully scenery could be seen around each corner you turned. Will definitely return.

We visited this site mainly due to it's location & the reviews given. It's a well looked after little site & owned by two lovely people as already mentioned. Best call owners on arrival as they will tell you where to pitch if you aren't sure. Wonderful surroundings by the site & central to a lot of fabulous places by car. I can only mark it down slightly due to road noise ..... but you do get used to it & it's only really busy at weekends. Very relaxing & we had the place to ourselves all week. Weather was gorgeous too & helped us thoroughly enjoy our 7 days. Mrs Anwyl is lovely & will stop for a chat to see how you are. Had a nice lunch in the Triangle pub in Rhyader but the Red kite feeding centre was closed when we went. No TV/radio signal from our pitch & we didn't miss either ! Can recommend. Martin & Mandy :-)

One Night Stay

What an absolute gem of a place this is. Family run on a working farm by two lovely people. It cannot be ignored that the toilets and shower are without question the best we ever seen on a composite and potentially better than a fair few would have at home. Totally peaceful with nature all around. Simply couldn’t rate the place high enough - many thanks once again.

What a find!

Needed a site just for a night stop off on our way home and picked Dolgadfan for location and electric hook up. We couldn't believe our luck when we found the site. As others have mentioned it is a working farm but the only noise we heard were the sheep. Mrs Anwyl and her son Brychan were lovely, the scenery stunning and the sheep no bother. The shower and toilet are fab, like something from a boutique hotel not what you would expect to find when you open the barn door. We will definitely be planning another trip so that we can do some exploring of the area and enjoy the peace and quiet this site has in abundance.
