Fabulous week in Wales

Our first time at Dolgadfan Farm but we were not disappointed at all. This site is set in a stunning and picturesque location. The site is excellent with well kept grass and facilities. The toilet and shower are top notch. We stayed for 7 nights and were made very welcome by the site owners Brychan and his mum, Gwenda. There are good walks from the site and National Cycle Route 8 goes past the door! The fishing at Lynn Clewedog is suburb and only 5 miles from the site. Day tickets are £18 (£16 concession) - exceptionally good value. I caught 19 trout over five days, all excellent fish of about two pounds. Definitely make this an annual visit.

Brilliant Site

We stayed for 3 nights on this on this fantastic site, we only wished we could have stayed longer. Very friendly welcome from the owners.  Brilliant site, brilliant location with the best shower block we have ever been in on a camp site. Good approach road to site & a great base for walkers. Brychan you do a great job with the site, keep it up.  We will be back !!

A Delightful site

We have just returned from having spent a week at this delightful CL site. The weather was glorious, which helped. The access is fine if you follow the instructions  and come in via Llanbrynmair. As with previous reviews, the site is a gem, the owners very friendly and helpful. We had most of the week on our own. It is a working sheep farm, so be prepared for sheep movements. But if you like peace and quiet and watching the birds, this site is for you. The shower/ wc is indeed very good for a CL site, modern and clean with plenty of hot water. The local attraction leaflets could do with updating and tidying up, but that is a minor point. However, if you decide to take a walk around the hills and fields beware, we found that the footpaths were not very well marked. The scenery around the site is pretty spectacular and we had a lovely break.

A hidden gem

We stayed on this superb little CL for week in June, What a delightful site, surrounded by beautiful scenery, in a peaceful valley, and run by very friendly helpful people. The site is off the beaten track, but close enough to reach many attractions of North Wales and the coast. There are numerous walks available, and good eating establishments a short car journey away. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for peace and quiet. One tip to remember, beware of the dreaded sat nav, mine took me over the single track mountain road through the village of Dolgadfan, there is a much easier route if you read the getting there instructions on their website.

5* site

Stayed here May bank holiday 2014.  Easy access to lovely flat site with pleasant views. The small amount of road noise wasn't a problem.  Shower & loo best we have ever seen on a CL - by a long way. Good walking in surrounding area. Very helpful owners Smile

Great Stay

Stayed August Bank Holiday 2013 Great level site, easy access, slight noise at time from the local road, however as it was bank holiday with fabulous weather!! perhaps it was busier than normal. The coast is about 20 miles and within easy reach, you also have lakes and mountains on your door step CHECK OUT THE SHOWERS AND LOO ! the best I have ever seen on a CL Nice to see a CL owner invest in the site with further plans on the cards for a rockery and campervan dump point My only down side- make sure you have food stocks the shops are some distance, you wont want to forget anything !!

Tranquil location / 5 star facilities.

This is a peaceful working farm site with pretty hillside views. The only sound was from the tractors at work and the sheep in the field. The occasional low flying military jet was thrown in to add some excitement! The owners are friendly and available for any information you may need regarding the surrounding area and stopped by on several occasions to offer support and advice. The field is well tended and our pitch, at least, has it's own water right there for you. The real draw is the facilities. You couldn't hope to find better in a hotel. Hot shower, well appointed wash room, lovely decor and very very clean. This is a work in progress with plans to develop further and if what we have at the moment is anything to go by, this will be on closely guarded secret!

An ideal spot for peace & quiet to focus on a "project" away in our Motorhome.

We wanted to complete our photo album from a recent 2 month tour in our Motorhome, and decided on a late June weekernd away at a CL. Quite by accident we came across the previous reviews for this site and as it was within our target distance, made the booking. This proved to be an excellent choice. The site is superb - spacious, very well maintained and with lovely Welsh hillside views. Washroom facilities are "state of the art". The welcome from the owners was second to none. So, nothing but positives for this site. And the album? Pretty well completed, despite a number of local walks from the site to distract us!

Dolgadfan May 2013

We have just returmed from a stay at Dolgadfan. The site is clean and pleasant with immaculate , ultra-modern shower and toilet. Gwen and her son Brychan were always helpful and were on hand to recommend good walks in the area. We favoured the lane running alongside the site to walk our dog and the verge was a mass of wildflowers and the views spectacular. I heard the cuckoo for the first time in years. rabbits and squirrels abound. Dogs have to be kept on the lead as it is a sheep farm. If you like street markets , visit Machynlleth on a Wednesday. If you want a spermarket shop there is a Tesco and Morrisons in Newtown. There is no TV reception unless you have specialist equipment so take DVDs for rainy days. We could only get Radio Hafren which is broadcast from Newtown but there were some excellent programmes from the station. This is a gem of a site and we will visit again.
