Great site

We have visited this CL twice now and it is a hidden gem. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. We will certainly be visiting again.

One of the best C/L`s ever stayed on

Just returned from Woodhall Spa 40`s weekend, decided to have a C/L change, glad we did. This could never be overcrowded, plentiful EHU`s, bin`s, water & chemical points in excellent order & no distance away. The toilet facilities are excellent being housed in the old scullery annex of the farmhouse. Horses & Chickens in nearby fields. Recommended for a quiet break, nothing for children to do, there is farm type machinery in & around nearby barns which wandering children could access, be aware. Will return Stu

A little piece of heaven

Just stayed for 5 days and had a great time. It is so peaceful and the views are to die for. David and Sarah made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The horses kept us amused for hours in the nearby field. When you compare how much it costs on a Club site this was excellent value for money. The toilet/shower were cleaned two or three times a day, even more than Club sites. This has opened our eyes as to what CL's are like but i'm sure this is one of the best. We will be back. Thanks David and Sarah.

Simply the Best

It's difficult to add to the stunning reviews already listed. We have visited only a few CL's as my husband prefers to stay on the club sites. I'm certainly glad I got my way on this occasion it was every thing I was hoping for and more besides. David and Sarah were very friendly and extremely helpful, David was particularly passionate about what Woodhall Spa and the surrounding area has to offer. On visiting the town we found people to be equally friendly and helpful. The only downside is that we were only there for two days. We will definitely visit again for a longer stay. Keep up the good work David and Sarah.

how the job should be done

sums the cl up in the title. plenty of space between vans,shower-toilet block free (other cl owners take note) very high standard to others that we have visited, informative owners who know when to be social and when to just give you a cheery wave-a skill other cl owners where we have been somewhat lacking-either one extreme or the other. at £14/night when we were there very good value. why the high praise? some sites are so owner orientated that you feel like not stepping on the grass and some you get there and the money or 20 sheep/chickens/ducks have priority over you. (no im not a towney-born and bred in the country) but there has to be sensible way to look at visitors to the cl site and the running of the cl site. well done to you both -a credit cl site.

That is the 6 days we have just spent at this CL. The other reviews don' t exaggerate about the place or the owners. Truly a little gem.

Keep this secret

Darwood House CL is a lovely tranquil site with open views over Lincolnshire farmland. Sarah & David are very genuine, welcoming people, who are willing to help and welcomed us on arrival. The farm is set back away from the road. The road is only a minor road so there is very little traffic therefore no road noise. The site is level overall but has some uneven areas which may require levelling blocks depending on where you choose to pitch. We didn't need them. There are plenty of electric hook ups which are well spaced apart so that everyone can enjoy the views without blocking other caravans. This site is a wildlife/bird watchers paradise with owls hunting every evening and the resident chickens coming to investigate each day. We will definitely return. Our concern about writing this review is that they will be fully booked in the future but Sarah & David deserve the praise for this CL & for all their hard work and we wish them well.

Peaceful 3 night break

We arrived at lunchtime and located the field with ease. They was only one other van on it and the rain was lacing it down. I couldn't decide whether to go looking for the owner or not it was so bad. 2 mins later David arrived to meet us and show us where everything was. The pitches are on a nicely kept field with plenty of free space for kids to play even when 5 vans are on it. The farm is set back from the road which is quiet anyway so it is so peaceful it's unreal. There is only one toilet but to be honest it wasn't a problem. The bathroom had a wall heater , toilet , basin and very large electric shower. This room I'd also kept to a high standard. Woodhall Spa is about 5 minute drive and is well worth taking the time to look around. It's full of history. Loads of walks and cycle rides nearby too We only stayed 3 nights as a cheap getaway but will, turn for longer next time.

One of the very best

One of the best CLs we've ever been to. Easy access, warm welcome, acres of space, peace, tranquility and wildlife. Located roughly half way between Woodhall Spa with all its charm and Horncastle, this site is in a very peaceful spot, where you can see an abundance of wildlife including the local barn owl, who puts on a show some nights. Excellent walks locally through both woodland and fields make this a great place for our four legged friends also. The bathroom and toilet facilities are kept spotless, and all for a very modest £11 a night. We haven't found anywhere cheaper with such well maintained amenities. It is excellent value for money.

Westyr

Stayed here in April 2013, David and Sarha made us very welcome and the site was very nice and clean toilet/shower room. Good location for Woodhall Spa and plently of walking to do around the area. A nice 2 mile walk into Woodhall Spa where there are plenty of shops and Tea shops about.
