Probably one of the best !

My wife and I have just had 3 nights at this super site...really nice site owners and most helpful, very very peaceful, an haven for wildlife, surrounded by superb Lincolnshire countryside. As someone famously once said "I shall return"

Beautiful Site

We only spent 2 nights on this site but wish it had been longer. We received a very friendly welcome upon arrival and shown to a choice of pitches. The actual site is very big so you never feel crowded, even though there were 4 other units there at the same time we were. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you.  We were visited on both mornings by half a dozen chickens which are tame enough to eat out of your hand. Something that our 11 year old son really enjoyed. If you are a dog owner, this site is very good as there are plenty of places to walk and the road is very quiet. All in all a lovely site which we will definitely visit again.

Great Location

Arrived for a short break 5 night break and received a warm and friendly welcome from Sarah. The site was really well maintained and in a great position near to Woodhall Spa. We were able to walk from the site with our Great Dane Henry who was made very welcome, and enjoyed a walk on the old railway path - this would have been great for cyclists. Had an excellent meal at the Indian restaurant in Woodhall Spa. Lovely break - many thanks!

A Little Piece of Lincolnshire Heaven

We arrived on site to a friendly greeting by the owner Sarah and her daughter Alex. The site itself has lovely views across the Lincolnshire countryside and well spaced out pitches. Chickens roaming around the site make for a lovely farm-feel. Unlike a previous review we couldn't find any fault at all with this beautiful site. We took our three dogs with us and one of them, a Patterdale Terrier called Naughty Eric (the clue's in the name) let Sarah and Alex pet  and fuss him - a miracle in itself - they'd got their own 'Patty' called Teddy so understood our very 'misunderstood' dog'. All in all, we can't wait to go back.

Nice site

We stayed for a weekend break, pros - lovely site, quiet, Pros- owner lady was nice and friendly, chickens run around on CL so entertaining, there are eggs for sale, Cons - Chicken poo, needs a bit of upkeep - water tap box broken, bathroom / shower was not warm although there was a wall heater it would benefit from a storage heater, lock did not always engage so be sure to check it is actually locked, did not appear clean not because it wasn't but because grouting etc...was not great. Quarry tile floor so you need to take a bathmat with you for sure, slippy when wet, also could do with a blind not a net curtain but none of these are big changes. Also field was no where near level, had we not taken blocks we would have been in trouble so take some with you. still on balance a good relaxing break

Really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed at this site in July and had a lovely and peaceful stay. So quiet at night, no traffic noise or dogs barking in the distance. BLISSFUL... The site itself is well kept and the owners obviously take pride in what they do, making everyone welcome. Both Sarah and David are very knowledgeable about the area and nothing is too much trouble. The shower toilet room is kept very clean and is very spacious. We will definitely visit again.

Happy times

A lovely warm welcome from David and Sarah as usual. Went to 'our' pitch - not saying which one as we like it too much and settled down for the week. Lovely views over rolling countryside - what more can you ask for? The shower/wc room is always kept very clean as Sarah cleans it twice a day. The shepherds hut that David showed us round is now ready for booking, so if you want some time away without towing just give him a ring. It's very spacious and well equipped. Just a short run in to Woodhall Spa for plenty of local shops especially the butchers (Hirsts) - the best Lincolnshire sausages and pork pies EVER. Guaranteed to put on some weight. Overall a very relaxing time and well worth a visit -we have already booked our next visit next month. The best CL around and not far for us to travel to. Thanks you two.

Best cl in the area

WOW!!! What an absolute gem of a sight. Recently stayed here for over a week and will be returning whenever we can. Having looked around the area for a Cl without a list of rules longer then my arm we stumbled across Darwood house and what a find. The owners are so friendly and accommodating just couldn't do enough for us as we were their to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. The owner Dave even brought us free Lincolnshire sausages to try. The views from the cl are outstanding and as for traffic noise, what traffic noise Its probably the most peaceful site we've ever been to. I could go on and on about the ease of access to Lincoln, Horncastle, Woodhall spa etc not to mention the occasional fly past by the spitfire. Darwood just has everything you'd expect from a well established Cl. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone just wanting to kick back and relax.

Excellent quiet site

We stayed on this site for 10 nights and had a very relaxing time. The site is very easy to find and has easy access, plenty of room on a large level site with beautiful views and no traffic noise. The toilet & shower room was always kept very clean. The site owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We will be returning to this CL site and recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break

Excellent site

We have stayed on many cl sites and this was the best yet!  So peaceful with lovely views over the countryside.  Dave and Sarah made us feel very welcome and were extremely helpful with regard to the local shops, pubs etc.  We had family to stay from New Zealand and Cranwell and we all thoroughly enjoyed our 10-night stay.  We would recommend this site to anyone and will definitely go back.
