Perfect!

We were supposed to spend Easter in St Neots but got a call saying our grass pitch was waterlogged so we were bumped to Cambridge only to have the same thing happen at very short notice so it looked like we'd be having Easter at home. So I started phoning round all the sites we have stayed at previously in the forlorn hope we could find a pitch, thankfully Caroline could help and we really fell on our feet. We first visited in February 2019 when it was cold and wet and we were the only unit on the CL but we remembered the site was beautifully quiet and Caroline was a great host. This time the weather was much nicer and although the CL was full there was plenty of room for everyone. We bagged Pitch 7 with its own tap so no messing with water barrels. We took the bus into Norwich on Saturday and went for a super walk on Sunday. Unfortunately we got wet packing up on Easter Monday but its all part of the fun. We'll certainly visit again, hopefully the King's Head will have reopened.

2 day visit

This was our first visit since 2019, when we hired the whole site for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Which by the way was Brill. We could only manage 2 nights due to my current hospital treatment, but it is well worth it. The pitches are all grass, large and well spaced all have EHU and some have fresh water, The Elsan point is a short walk from the pitches. Bins for general rubbish and recycling are at the farm house end of the site, there is a double gate at the entrance so access is nice an easy. The site is dog friendly, if you are looking to recharge or get away from it all this is the place, its peaceful and relaxing with views over the fields. There is a pond onsite which you can pitch next to and maybe see the Kingfisher and other water foul, I believe it is deep water, so families be aware. Lovely walks from the site some off road, Bike riding around the quiet country lanes, Its a short drive to the next village to visit the pub The Kings Head Woodton, Well worth a visit. Look forward to coming back for a longer visit in the future.

Fantastic spacious CL

Stopped over as part of our 3 site week in the general Norfolk Broads area. Site is very spacious and pretty level with Hook ups, and a central chemical point and water fill point (as well as those pitches that have taps). Site is in a peaceful secluded area well away from busy roads. Walks possible from the site around mainly tracks and agricultural land. We used as a base for a couple of day trips, but I can see the attraction in just staying here and relaxing ! Oh, and thanks for the cakes Caroline :)

The superlatives about this site have already been covered so I will just add a few points. The site has 2 sections – the front and the back. The front has the best views of the adjoining pasture and small nature pond and it is also the sunniest. This is where pitches 1 & 2 are located which have their own water supplies. The back is closest to the buildings and the owner’s drive, is screened with high trees and contains pitches 3 to 7 which share 2 water points. The water point by pitch 7 was too low for our water barrel. All 7 pitches are grass and reasonably level - £16 per night. Signage off the public road is good but don’t be tempted to turn left at the second sign on the farm road by Laurels Farm. We stocked up at Morrisons in Beccles which has space for motorhomes so we didn’t need to use the local convenience store in Woodton. We didn’t drive anywhere during our 4-night stay which is the way we like it. We had good day trips to Norwich by bus and Bungay 2 hours each way by foot. There are other walking and cycling opportunities which the owner (Louise) will advise on. We recommend the Bigod Castle café in Bungay and Old Hall farm shop north of Woodton for lunch. Had we stayed longer we might have tried the Kings Head pub in Woodton, the Brickyard café between Woodton and Hedenham, the tea shop at Earsham Hall, the Flint vineyard near Earsham or the free Norfolk & Suffolk aviation museum at Flixton (which is only open on Wednesdays and weekends).

Excellent Site

We have just spent a lovely week at Bedingham Hall Farm CL. What a delightful place so quiet and peaceful. Electric on every pitch and water on 4 out of 5 pitches. So much space you felt as if you were by yourself. The owner of the site Louise was really friendly and helpful. Added bonus is that it is only 10-15 minutes walk to a village shop and to a good pub the Kings Head in Woodton. We will definitely be returning

A beautiful peaceful haven

We received such a lovely warm welcome from Louise when we arrived on site. Our pitch was beautifully prepared with a super welcome sign. Louise quickly explained the local dog walks, location of the shop and local pub where we could get really excellent pub food. We were also able to borrow the useful information book that Louise gave us for some nice places to see. The pitch had such lovely lush soft grass I was able to just go around on my hands and knees putting the awning pegs in without any bumps, bruises or dirty knees. Our pitch was extremely large, which gave us the luxury of being able to pitch anyway we wished. We setup to face the afternoon sun and enjoy the lovely central pond. Tap, bins and waste were all a short distance from the pitch. We found lots to do in the area enjoying visiting Bungay, Bungay castle and tearoom, Walberswick, Halesworth and the lovely Air museum nearby. We particularly recommend the air museum which was free to visit and kept us busy all day. Around the site were several lovely walks which also allowed us to get in plenty of Geocaching. We recommend the caches in the local churches and the fine pair multi cache in Bungay. One of the Bungay church multi's is particularly amusing. The most incredible thing about this site though was the amazing dark sky, due to the lack of light pollution. We were able to use the telescope and binoculars to see several shooting stars and satellites. To be honest you could sit in your chair and see many constellations with the naked eye. We have stayed on official dark skys sites and not had the views we got at Bedingham. I would advise anyone wanting to enjoy a lovely bit of daylight peace and quiet, followed by the most amazing view of the heavens at night to visit. We would love to visit again in the future, thank you Louise for making our stay so nice. Two points of note don't use your satnav for the last few miles as it insists on taking you through some scary tight B roads. Plan your route using the main A roads even though it's a bit longer. Secondly don't turn in at the first Camping and leisure sign on the concrete drive, continue to the second sign and enter at the double gate as per your email instructions from the site.

Excellent site

This was our first visit and the site certainly lives up to previous reviews. Booking, ongoing communication and welcome from Louise were all excellent. The site is very well maintained and the pitches are really well spaced out. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time there watching the barn owls hunting, the green and great spotted woodpeckers and various other birds. We would certainly stay there again.

Lovely Quiet Site

Just returned from a weekend at this site. Beautifully set out with bags of space between pitches. Electric and water on our pitch, nicely discreet toilet disposal. Very quiet. There are lovely walks direct from the site, I imagine good for cycling as well. Nice shop in the village selling newspapers. Also a pub, but was too cold to sit outside for us this time. We will return.

Peaceful site

Lovely well kept and thoroughly peaceful site. Pitches are flat and well spread out. Nice to sit and chill in the afternoon sun and watch the Moorhens scurrying around the pond. Louise was a very helpful host, providing us with a map of local walks and phoning the local café for us to check opening times. Bungay is the nearest town (approx. 5 miles away) and can be reached by walking along a mixture of very quiet lanes and footpaths. There are numerous cafes to choose from before making the return journey (or as Louise advised it is also possible to catch the "Norwich bus" back to Woodton which is only half a mile or so from the site).

Shhhhh!

I have entitled this 'Shhhhh' as I really do not want anyone to discover this gem of site so that it will always have vacancies for when we want to return! We live just 8 miles away from this CL and like to have a place to go for a few days whilst still being able to attend other commitments unlike a complete holiday. This place is exquisite. It is spacious and SO peaceful with a cacophony of bird song. It is beautifully arranged around the natural ponds. It has miles of walks on the doorstep and a lot of historical interest in the surrounding countryside. Also great for any Geocachers amongst you! We plan to return for another short break with friends who also live just 8 miles away as this is the perfect retreat to spend with caravanning chums. Please do ignore my glowing reports and then I know that we can get back on again - oh my! How selfish I am !!!!!!!! Just one practical note - ignore the first CL sign and go to the double gates at the second CL sign for a lovely wide entrance and exit. Thank you Louise, you're a lovely host. :-)
