Great Stay - very relaxing

We stayed for 7 nights on pitch two. Lovely site which is well maintained and has everything you need. The facilities are simple yet very clean and well looked after. The pitches are very well spaced out - and they all enjoy the sunshine throughout the day. Each has its own mains water tap and electric. The location is great for exploring Devon and the surrounding area. Easy to reach the coast etc (Salcombe we visited also) Crediton is a lovely town with a variety of shops and amenities in the town. It has two supermarkets also just outside the town. We eat at The Three Pigs which was very reasonably priced and the food was good.. It’s a very quiet site which has the occasional passing local train, but otherwise it’s very quiet. All fellow campers were there for the same reason - to relax at the site and explore Devon. It felt a very private yet friendly site. The last part of the journey in is narrow, but no major issue - you just need to take it easy and it’s a very short stretch of country lane and as described on the listing. Passing places are there if cars come the other way for the short stretch you need to do with a caravan. Highly recommend following the instructions to arrive but don’t let the road put you off booking. TV signal was ok and the WIFI was good considering the location. Phone signal is limited but as long as you connect to WiFi you should be fine (Whatsapp) We enjoyed it so much that have already booked for next year on the same pitch. It’s now in our top 5 sites !

Beare Mills Cl.

Arriving at the site on a sunny afternoon and were greeted by the host who welcomed us. We had a large sized pitch in the orchard with plenty of room to sit and enjoy the sunshine and watch the trains. We found the facilities excellent with a really spacious shower room. All the facilities were immaculately clean. If we had to find a downside it has to be the roads leading to the site, typical Devon lanes, windy and narrow, but once there great site.

Lovely site

This is a lovely site with good facilities for a CL and friendly owners who work hard to maintain the site in a good condition. The access roads are as described, narrow Devon roads but we found those coming in the other direction accommodating and prepared to reverse where necessary. A nice walk into Crediton with access to buses and trains.

Spacious well equipped site

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Karen. We were on pitch 2 which afforded a clear view of the trains running on the line that runs alongside the field. This was a plus for my husband and did not really disturb the peace of the site, especially as there is no service at night. All facilities are spotlessly clean. The shower is one of the best I have experienced - plenty of room, easily controlled and extremely powerful. Although we are self- contained it was good to have the outside washing up area, laundry and toilets. Plenty of information on local walks and things to do in the area. Everything a CL should be and more.

Simply Stunning CL

Great site. Large grass pitches with all facilities. One spacious shower room with a proper shower and lovely warm water. 2 toilets, laundry room and elsan point. Outside wash up area & washing line. Information room with lots of walks. Crediton walking distance. Access is very narrow but has pull in points. Trains go right past . Good tv reception but mobile signal poor. Lots of walking routes printed out. Wifi available. Definitely recommend as a piece of heaven in Devon.

Great place to stay!

This is a lovely Campsite, the scenery is beautiful and the site is Tranquil… I visited for a week in my tent, the facilities were excellent, the best shower I’ve come across, it’s a large wet room with a powerful shower and an equally lovely Toilet… Karen and Jason are Great hosts, attention to detail is superb… Can’t wait until my next visit…

Great site

This a great little site. Karen was very welcoming and accommodating (we'd asked for a pitch out of the way as we have a puppy we're still training!) There are lots of dog walks from nearby the site - the river walk is lovely and it was easy to walk into Crediton along the quiet lane. Will definitely be back!

Short stopover

Used Beare Mill as a short stopover site on way down to southern Cornwall. DO follow the instructions on the CAM site and from the owners as satnav approach was tight and awkward with an 8ft wide van. On arriving at the site we found our name missing from the board which required a quick check of the booking details to find our pitch. Pitches were very spacious and services first class. The grass pitch was almost level meaning only front to back adjustment. Heavy rain during the second day and overnight didn't have any significant impact as the land seemed to drain well. Mobile signal was almost non-existent for both EE and Virgin(O2) so contact with family etc was only possible away from the site. The site is close to the rail link for Exeter and Barnstaple and trains were a regular occurrance during the day but not late into the night which impacts on the overall peace and tranquility of the site.

An absolute gem of a site

On arrival we were met by Karen who welcomed us with a smile and a quick run down of where everything was and info on local walks from site. The site is fantastic with spacious pitches & excellent facilities plus a great dog walk which incorporates a couple of rock pools (brilliant for dog owners for their four legged friends to cool down in at the end of a hot day) It is ideally positioned for exploring both the North and South Devonshire coastlines. We had a fab 9 days with Scorchio weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this brilliant site that is run and kept in tip top condition by Karen & Jason Thank you
