This a great little site. Karen was very welcoming and accommodating (we'd asked for a pitch out of the way as we have a puppy we're still training!) There are lots of dog walks from nearby the site - the river walk is lovely and it was easy to walk into Crediton along the quiet lane.
Will definitely be back!
Short stopover
Used Beare Mill as a short stopover site on way down to southern Cornwall. DO follow the instructions on the CAM site and from the owners as satnav approach was tight and awkward with an 8ft wide van. On arriving at the site we found our name missing from the board which required a quick check of the booking details to find our pitch. Pitches were very spacious and services first class.
The grass pitch was almost level meaning only front to back adjustment. Heavy rain during the second day and overnight didn't have any significant impact as the land seemed to drain well. Mobile signal was almost non-existent for both EE and Virgin(O2) so contact with family etc was only possible away from the site.
The site is close to the rail link for Exeter and Barnstaple and trains were a regular occurrance during the day but not late into the night which impacts on the overall peace and tranquility of the site.
An absolute gem of a site
On arrival we were met by Karen who welcomed us with a smile and a quick run down of where everything was and info on local walks from site. The site is fantastic with spacious pitches & excellent facilities plus a great dog walk which incorporates a couple of rock pools (brilliant for dog owners for their four legged friends to cool down in at the end of a hot day) It is ideally positioned for exploring both the North and South Devonshire coastlines.
We had a fab 9 days with Scorchio weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this brilliant site that is run and kept in tip top condition by Karen & Jason
Thank you

Fabulous!
I wont repeat all the positives but they are all correct. Lovely to just pitch in any direction and how you like as the pitches are so spacious. The lane approach is fine, we have an 8ft wide x 8m, twin axle caravan and all was fine. All I would say is the busy/free sign on the shower room could be larger so that you can read it from your pitch if you are feeling little lazy and want to make sure it is free before you set off for a shower! Ha Ha! We loved being on grass and no hardstanding, fed up of all the gravel on the larger sites. CL's are the way forward for us. Go and visit, you will love it.
Dreamy Devon CL
Stayed 2 nights, with friends in the next door pitch. Lovely setting surrounded by mature trees, by an orchard. massive pitches with individual water and EHU. Good shower/toilet/laundry facilities. Easy arrival with assigned pitches. Welcomed by Karen who provides lots of material for local walks and eating places and other information. Great walks from site - did circular walk along river to Crediton which has a fabulous town square. Good lunch at Baobob café.. Did alternative walk to train station to catch a train to the Duck Inn for lunch, Probably our fabvourite CL so far. Would definitely recommend

Beautiful surroundings and amazing facilities
Please follow the directions to site from Crediton as the roads are very narrow from other directions! After lots of breathing in moments we’re we’re rewarded with a stunningly beautiful site, a stream running around the back, train track with possibly 3 trains an hour, an orchard, pretty buildings, and excellent facilities. The site owner is very welcoming and informative, lots of print outs with directions on where to walk into town or pretty riverside walks or to the local train station and dog walks to let them run free. We had storms, gale force winds and power cuts and the owner could not have been more helpful during all of this so called ‘summer weather’. We would definitely love to return next year.

All good
We stayed three nights at Beare Mill and had a very peaceful and relaxing holiday. The pitch sizes were more than generous and the facilities were perfectly clean and adequate. We were made to feel very welcome and would not hesitate to recommend this CL. The walk to the station was easy, nice and flat, but the easiest way to get to the town is by road, we walked the footpath over the hill ..... but only once! Having said that, we are in our seventies and I have mobility difficulties, so if you are younger or fitter it probably won't be a problem.
Altogether a lovely stay.

Gem
Lovely site, with clean, well-maintained facilities. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Karen, who kindly gave us information about local walks and amenities, which was really helpful. She also welcomed us to walk through their adjacent land, which included a lovely part of the river which our dog loved swimming in. We would like to make particular note of a beautiful, huge and ancient oak tree which stands in one of the fields - what an amazing sight. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay - we would love to return one day.
