Peaceful site

Lovely well maintained site with fully serviced grass pitches with plenty of space, and access to spotlessly clean facilities. Owner very helpful during efficient booking process. Peaceful with river running close to the site. Easy access to Crediton (shops, station etc) via a variety of walking/cycling routes. We enjoyed dinner at the Three Little Pigs and the walk back via Tin Pot steps and Breakheart Hill - worth the climb for the views!

A good CL

There is little to fault with this CL. Acres of well cut grass, a private rock pool on the River Yeo to walk to and sit and wait for kingfishers, Wi-Fi, good TV, fully serviced pitches plus two loos, a shower, outside washing up area and washing machine. The neighbouring RW line doesn't in our opinion justify marking down for peace and quiet which is in abundance. There are a multitude of rural and largely off-road walks from the site and scope for cycling although didn't try it. We weren't bowled over by Credition but it has everything including a large and small Tescos, a Morrisons, coffee shops, a quaint free museum and excellent bus and rail links to other places.

Once there, unwind!

Fresh from a 4 night stay, pitches are very well spaced pitch 5 is nearest the toilet / shower / washing up / cpd / laundry, pitch 1 is on the left as you enter the field. Each has water, waste and hook-up. There are two toilets in one building, a large wet room and laundry facilities in the other with washing line provided outside (we didn’t use the laundry so no comments on cost / usage etc). Uncovered washing up is behind the buildings, hot and cold and two sinks but very large, loads of space. The CDP is one of the best we have used / seen, 10 / 10! There is another part to the complex, the Orchard that offers much the same and they share the facilities, during our stay all three pitches offered were occupied. Site is kept spotless, grass had recovered prior to our stay and even had a trim whilst we were there! Sign at site entrance detailing your name and pitch number. Rubbish / recycling has to be taken to the end of the lane. Follow the directions given, the lane off the road to the farm does NOT have many passing places and those they are are not very big so if you meet something one of you is going to reverse for a long way. It is narrow but not a problem with due care although if you have long arm mirrors on a MOHO watch out for telegraph poles. It is possible to walk into Crediton off road but there is an uphill part whichever way you go, most direct, perhaps 20 minutes involves breakheart hill, short but steep! This route offers a good view of the complex. Catch the Farmer’s market if you can, small and well patronised but offers everything expect bread! We treated ourselves to a Game Pie and some venison. The station is around 25 minutes walk away on the flat, not the 1.9 miles on the site info. Trains are hourly to Barnstaple and Okehampton and two per hour to Exeter, get off at Central, £5.40 return, to be closer to the town centre, Cathedral, £7.50 entrance fee, and the Quay. At Okehampton, £4 return, you can walk the Granite Way to Meldon Viaduct and reservoir. There is noise from the trains, more so in one direction as they accelerate away from the level crossing nearby but short in duration, last train is around half ten. We enjoyed seeing the swallows flying around / skimming the grass, saw a kingfisher and the highlight, a young stoat put in an appearance. A very relaxing stay and well worth a repeat visit.

Idyllic Site A must visit

Had a lovely stay at this site on our way to Cornwall. Booked for 2 nights ended up staying for 4. Hosts Karen and Jason are so friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful and the site idyllic. Pitches are spacious with water, waste and hookup on each pitch. There are toilets and a shower but that doesn’t do it justice, it’s a spacious wet room really. There’s a washing machine and clothes line too. There’s also a field next to the site where you can walk your dog. Crediton is about 20 minutes walk via public footpaths across fields. There are independent shops and coffee shops in the lovely market square. The branch line from Exeter to Okehampton and Barnstable runs next to the site but the noise is minimal and it doesn’t run through the night. Upside is you can walk to the station if you fancy a trip

Beautiful well kept, very spacious site with great facilities. A large really well spaced out pitches, each with direct water feed, clean well maintained toilets and shower. Access roads roads narrow in a couple of places but easily manageable. Quick helpful response from owners when making request to them. In all a beautiful site well worth a visit

Cracking site.

The owner was very helpful, despite being on holiday herself, sorted out our booking alterations and gave good advice. We stayed 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the site and local area. Killerton Estate and Haldon Forest particularly worth a visit if you like walking and have dogs. The facilities are good, very clean and a superb shower/wet room! The washing up area is also good with good sized sinks and very hot water. Walks from the site into Crediton are good, particularly by the river. There is a train track nearby though we didn't find the train noise intrusive. Phone signal isn't great (EE non-existent), but just go near the facilites and WiFi call. Will definitely book again. I would say that this is one of the very best CL sites we’ve stayed on.

A wonderful site with excellent facilities

This is an excellent site with new facilities including water at each pitch. It is close to the railway line but this did not disturb this quiet location. The toilet and shower block are very good as are the other facilities on site. It is a good location for walking and cycling. Do not follow the satnav to the site as this will take you down single track roads. If you approach on the A377 towards Crediton and turn left down station Rd then access is not a problem.

A Gem of a site

We’ve just had a two night stay here, it’s a beautiful site, wished we’d booked for longer. We arrived and Karen came over to welcome us and shared all the information we needed. A very peaceful site, with very large pitches! The grounds are well kept. There is a train track that runs along the site with trains passing throughout the day but this didn’t bother us at all. Phone signal isn’t great but that wasn’t a problem. The facilities are lovely, very clean and a superb shower! Lots of walks from the site and a great area to walk our dog on the site along the river. Will definitely book again. I would say the best CL site we’ve stayed on.

a lovely quiet site

A great location, within walking distance of station and Crediton. warm welcome and excellent site two things to note; first is the final bit of the journey to the site. We found it ok - we tow a 7.3 bailey behind a Ford Kuga, but it would be helpful to check out the directions on google satellite beforehand. second is that the crediton barnstaple railway line passes by at the bottom of the site! first time the train passed it surprised us but we soon got used to it. the site is really clean, well laid out and lots of space, and services excellent. toilet and showers (on a CL!) were very clean, and this is a bit geekish, but the chemical disposal point was one of the best I have used!! excellent site, would recommend.
