Lovely place to visit

Very nice welcome to this well kept site from the owner, and daily contact (unobtrusive). Very good facilities - a tap for each pitch, plenty of space, flat, nice new showers/loo (2). Treats and staples available in fridge and freezer in case anything is needed. Excellent location for visiting anything in the area (Sandringham, Holkham, Burnham Market, Wells, and some lovely beaches). All very lovely, with nice views over a field and plenty of birds to watch whilst eating breakfast. However, the situation is on a reasonably busy road, so some noise (although does quieten at night); and a nearby airfield was intrusive for an hour around tea time (rig transfers?). The dog walk from the site is adequate, but is a country road with some occasional traffic. All in all, very good and would visit again if staying in the area.

First time at this wonderfull CL

It took us two years to "get in" at this CL and we were not disapointed.I won't mention all the great facilities as they are well documented but will say it lacks for nothing because of the work and forsight of David and Lorna. Peacefull, scenic and with immaculate facilities and great location for exploring Norfolk. The weather was mixed with plenty of rain during our two weeks but the site drained well.Firm grass pitches! What a joy! The extras such as tv, microwave and well stocked fridges(prepared meals, ice creams and chocolate) in the information hut were a bonus. Definitely 5 star and 10 out of 10. The best site of any size that we have been on.We will return IF we can get on again.Only made it this time due to a cancellation. Can recommend 100%. Well done Lorna and David.

Faultless

Returned to this site after years of travelling the country and Ireland visiting dozens of sites. It is absolutely faultless and right at the top of our list. The hosts, Dave & Lorna are helpful and sociable but leave you alone. The location is ideal for the whole Norfolk coast and the delightful inland market towns. The addition of Shepherds huts offers something for non caravanning friends. The facilities onsite are exceptional. The showers and toilets are spotless. The adjoining Lane a blessing for walking the dogs. We went just after the floods and the grass pitches were dry and hard. Price wise it is VERY reasonable and I liked the metered electricity. Very fair and how it should be. If I ran a CL, this is how I would like to run one. Excellent.

Barleywood - A fine site

We have visited Barleywood on multiple occasions and apart from being one of the best sites in the country it is genuinely value for money. When you consider the facilities 2 x toilets/showers, washing machine, kitchen, free wifi etc., £18 including electric/night is surely great value.

Simply The Best

This has got to be one of the best CL Sites in the country. Lorna and David are always very welcoming and maintain the site to a very high standard. The facilities are brilliant and always clean. The information hut is always well stocked with food to buy. The price is fantastic value and you won't get better value in the area. You will need to book well in advance, so plan ahead. The location is great for visiting the Norfolk coast. Pitches are very spacious, with a tap near your pitch. Thank you Lorna and David

Barleywood yet again

Another great stay at the fabulous Barleywood. From Lorna and David’s welcome every aspect of this dream sire screams quality. We must have stay here 20 plus times over the years and never tire of the place. Many times I’ve outlined Barleywoods facilities which are second to none. I believe this is one of the best value for money sites in the country. Site fees are £18/night which includes a £3/night electric allowance. Many sites could learn from Lorna and David’s passion for their site

Fabulous site

Good room to pitch, facing how you wish. Warm and helpful welcome from David. All grass pitches and our 7.5 motorhome might have struggled if it had been much wetter. The facilities are comprehensive with a lovely hut that provides washing facilities, washing up facilities, microwave and honesty box purchase of goodies such as ice-cream and local chocolates from a fridge with a freezer for purchase of ready meals. Lovely area to visit and we enjoyed great e-bike rides. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing find

A fabulous find, Barleywood CL in Norfolk. David and Lorna are excellent hosts. There when you need them, but not in your face. A washing up room that has a washing machine, tumble dryer, (charge for use) kettle, microwave, fridge and fridge freezer with milk, ice lollies and other goods for sale with an honesty box. Two shower rooms, with hand basin and toilet in each one. Again immaculate. There is a charge for using the showers. Again it’s an honesty box. Large grass pitches, that like everyone’s lawns are suffering with the dry weather. That’s not a criticism, but I read a review complaining about them. I am not sure what the site can do about the weather! You can pitch in any direction. No worries about being nose to nose on a site this size. EHU and water to each pitch. Grey waste can be piped anywhere on your pitch. Chemical waste disposal area. £18 a night. We have enjoyed it that much that we have booked for 2024! It’s hard to get in it’s that popular. PB
