Beautiful site to watch the snow falling horizontally!

We came for a relaxing break and some dreadful weather gave us that opportunity! Not sure I’ve ever seen horizontal snow before, thanks to a strong easterly wind at the same time. But we were snug in our caravan at Barleywood. Their frig and freezer were well stocked with essentials (and treats!) so we had no fears of starving. The site is impeccably tidy, clean and well kept, with water and electric on each pitch. There were never more than 5 outfits on site, which was good for such a nice large field. Had a friendly welcome from David who pointed out the direction of sun during day (somewhat ironic that info turned out to be!). Barleywood is obviously well loved and well used. There are other cl sites along the same road but we didn’t notice many ‘vans on them, so that perhaps tells its own story. A little traffic noise during peak hours, but blissfully quiet at night. Well done Barleywood. We might be back- if we can find a space in your busy booking schedule!

Excellent

This was our third stay although the weather wasn't kind to us we thought maybe a few more hardstanding would be a bonus as because of the weather very muddy under foot and quite slipperey but on a good note the site was lovely and the owners was very nice the toilets and showers was amazing and very clean bit disappointed that you have to pay to have a shower but hay ho if that's what the owners want to do that's up to them but from a campers view you have to keep remembering to keep 50p to one side the added bonus is the little honest shop where you can buy lots of things Lorna & David are very nice people it goes to show how good the site is you have got to book miles and miles to get a place well done to you both see you again fingers crossed

Gem of a site

It's no wonder that this site is always booked up. From the welcome to the facilities all 5* The 'extras' are a lovely touch the bench mark has been set and going to be hard to match. Thanks Lorna and David we shall keep checking to see if there are any cancellations for future visits

Attention to detail

Having just returned from this hidden gem, we can only concur with previous complimentary comments and add that the investment and attention to detail is exemplary that the owners have provided for this well catered for cl.

Jewel in the crown.

What more is there to say. We have a preference for CL sites an can honestly say Barleywood is the best we have stayed on. We stayed for 7 nights from the 9th October and although the weather was not great we had a great week totally relaxed there was even night time displays courtesy of the RAF helicopters. David greeted us once we had set up to give us all the information we needed. Due to the Covid it was our choice not to use the shower facilities but they are fantastic and spotlessly clean. There is a water tap at each pitch and a 16A supply which makes life much easier. There is a well set up information room with items for sale and if you are a National Trust member then there are several sites in easy striking distance. In summary David and Lorna were great hosts and when you look at ratios for the facilities Barleywood has more to offer than any club site I have been on. Thanks for a lovely week.

Beautiful site

There is nothing not to like about this site. Facilities are spotlessly clean. We arrived 4/7 so the first week of sites being able to open after the Covid-19 lockdown. Every possible hand soap, sanitiser and wipe were available in the communal kitchen/info point and two toilet/shower facilities. The owners have gone to a great deal of effort to make staying her as hassle free as possible with water at each pitch and if you have a pipe for your waste water you can drain that away. The site itself has easy access to the coast and Sandringham and everywhere in between. We were so lucky to get on this site as it Is rightly booked up most of the year. If you too manage to get on you won’t be disappointed.

Short stay: lasting impression

Short stay: lasting impression. What a gem of a CL this is! Warm welcome from David and Lorna who clearly pour energy, hard work, much thought and attention to detail in providing an outstanding experience for their fortunate visitors. Shower/WC facilities absolutely pristine. Communal cabin provides a wealth of information: maps, local attraction info, DVDs, books, mementoes. You can watch TV, use washing and drying facilities, purchase curries, crumbles etc. from fully stocked freezers, together with milk, confectionary, soft drinks, local beers... You name it, if it isn't there, we’d guess it will be next time. Delightful small wooded area with nesting boxes along one side of the site; beautiful tree lined views and lovely Norfolk sunsets. Picnic tables/benches allocated to each very generous pitch. An old saying springs to mind... If it’s worth doing, it's worth doing well. David and Lorna, mission accomplished. You deserve many congratulations. Impeccable.
