Top Site

Have visited this site a number of times over the year s, we thought it couldn't get any better. David and Lorna have installed a new shower and toilet block - It is excellent. The whole site is well maintained. Cannot believe it has not won any awards. Good access to the coast and Fakenham is 3 miles down the road, which will meet your shopping requirements. There is also is a Shepherds Hut which is superbly kitted out, boasting it's own hot tub and BBQ. Some friends of ours have used it and couldn't speak highly enough about it. Great if you want friends to stop near you who haven't got a caravan of their own. Lorna and David are very welcoming too.

Fantastic Site

What a fantastic site this is, despite heavy and constant rain for a number of days this site did not develop one puddle the drainage is great. The onsite facilities are also top notch with two brilliant shower and toilet rooms. Added to this the well stocked fridge and freezers with just about every item you might need we highly reccomend th apple crumble. There is also a washing machine and spin dryer available to use. Each pitch has water and electric hook ups, and you receive a great welcome from David and Lorna. Booked again for next year

Loved this site!

We spent a fabulous week at this site in mid October. It was the perfect base for our stay in North Norfolk exploring beaches, towns and castles. Easy access, fully serviced pitches and homemade cakes to die for. We will definitely hope to visit again soon!

Best CL

We stayed here for 2 nights in September (forgot to post review) and were lucky to get in as the site is quite understandably very popular. David and Lorna are great hosts and the site has more facilities than some Club sites. Freshly laid eggs, milk and home-cooked meals in the fridge and freezer. Nice to have water on each pitch as well as electric. Lovely setting and easy access to Wells and Holkham.

It doesn't get any better.

We have just returned from our usual 3 weeks visit @ Barleywood. 8th - 29th August. David & Lorna are all ways upgrading, and since our last visit in April, they have installed a brand new double toilet & shower rooms, replacing the existing ones, not that there was anything wrong with them. The grass was its usual lovely short, well mowed, and all the cuttings are picked up, and used for composting, over in the wood. We love you eggs, they taste so good, really good value too. A previous review mentioned that they couldn't re book, for when they wanted, but to be honest to get a 3+ week booking, we have had to book up now until 2024, they really are that well thought of, you only have to look on there dates that they are all ready booked up by You would not be disapointed, believe me, And then there's the wonderful wild life, owls, various. hares, loads of different birds, plus loads more, enjoy.

Failing of what was our favourite CL

We have visited this CL on a regular basis, every year since opened, and have to say, it is one of the best CL's for site facilities and location. However, it seems that based on the last few visits, they are falling foul of extending the 5 van rule, as we have just experienced sharing the site with 7 caravans! I know there are times when there are changeovers, but 7 caravans over a long weekend is not on. Apparently one of the caravan owners had gone home for the weekend, and left their caravan pitched up, as they were returning 4 days later. This is just takes up space for other caravanners, so blocks potential pitches from being used. Be warned if you can't get on as full. Time to look for another favourite CL.

1st visit of 2019

Just gets better and better whatever time of the year you decide to visit. Usual friendly welcome from Lorna and David. Fees for site still at £15/night and you can pay by BACs, really convenient. So much to do in the area from wildlife watching, long walks on the beach, visiting NT properties and lovely villages etc. Whilst at Barleywood keep an eye out for the Barn Owls and Tawny Owls, at least 3 on this last visit. Have used the fish and chip shop and Panda Chinese take away in Burnham Market and can recommend both. We managed to walk 40 miles in our 4 day visit. Will visit again in February and March 19

We've found our CL of the Year

What a CL site..... A really friendly welcome from David, to a really nicely laid out site, with plenty of space around each Van. Each pitch is flat, has it's own picnic table, with umbrella, individual drinking wate and low lighting around the site through the night. The facilities are superb (the showers look brand new) and it's all the little extras that helped to make our stay so relaxing. Clearly the site owners are rightly proud of the site they've created, which (in our opinion) sets it head and shoulders over its competitors. Barleywood is top of our list for future visits to North Norfolk.
