Best site I have been to by far

This is the best site we have visited by far, perfect location along the river, clean, quiet, lovely walks close by, Pershore town centre is a lovely walk along the river via a couple of lovely fields with benches to sit on and watch the boats sail by. Cycling is nice and flat, catch a train to almost anywhere with ease. You can swim or kayak in the river Avon from the site. There is a lovely forest walk close by through the town of Pershore which has plenty of cafe's shops etc. The site owners are brilliant, so helpful and easy to get along with. Thank you for a lovely holiday we had 17 nights stay and didn't want to leave, we will be back regularly for sure. Pam and Wendy Cleveleys

Brilliant Site

This is such a lovely site, close to the river. Tranquil and peaceful. Craig made us so welcome. Close to Pershore and places to eat in village. Will certainly return. The site is such a gem and still unspoilt. Electric, wi fi and even good television reception with extending aerial cable.

FABULOUS despite the weather!

We visited this site just after the Easter 2018 weekend when the weather had been atrocious for several days and there was a VAST amount of water in the area. The approach road was flooded but we managed to negotiate that and get into the site entrance (through boatyard.) We were met by a very friendly Craig (site owner) who explained that the actual CL area was under a foot of water (the ducks were enjoying it!!) but he was able to give us the option of two places to pitch. We took the the grassed (rather than hard standing option) and this proved fine for our 10 day stay. The site is superb. Craig never stops working on it - doing odd jobs to improve the facilities and keeping it neat and tidy. It is very tranquil. The pitches are large with own tap, grey waste point, wifi and tv aerial. Boats (including Craig's double decker wide barge) are moored on the adjacent River Avon and their owners are very friendly and have good rapport with site owner and caravanners'. Wyre Piddle is a small village (with a well stocked Co-op) on the outskirts of Pershore. There are two pubs (riverside with good views of river and boats) in the village - both provide meals. The Anchor Inn is traditional pub and has a wide menu choice - the Piesse of Piddle is smaller, attracts many friendly locals and serves (limited menu) good quality if simple home made / home cooked food. We thought it had a fabulous atmosphere and enjoyed our two visits and the meals we had there. There is a very nice riverside walk (from site) into Pershore (very wet on our visit but still passable) a lovely Georgian town with a wonderful abbey. The town even has a cinema there. A splendid community venue - 'Number 8' - the foyer is open daily for coffee and cakes (excellent) and the cinema / theatre is well worth a visit. The area around Pershore has much to interest the visitor Croome Park (NT), Bredon Hill and Worcester are all within a few miles of the site. This is a really fabulous site, with a great site owner who does everything possible to ensure his guests have a superb visit.

Get Away From It All

I am reluctant to write this review as I don't want to be ringing up Craig to book a pitch to find the site is fully booked, this is a fabulous CL. Pure bliss to wake up looking straight out at the narrow boats on the river Avon within the marina. We were pitched on a separate hard standing way from the 5 CL pitches as there had been substantial rainfall leading up to our stay that was fully appreciated with our motorhome. On arrival we met Craig, he lives on the double decker houseboat and his welcoming brief, along with a comprehensive information sheet made our stay more than comfortable. Facilities include an elsan, fresh water and ehu. A mixture of traditional and new, a beautiful local village has to be visited. The two pubs are riverside and we shall definitely be returning to visit the Anchor again the summer to enjoy the hospitality and service. In the other direction, Pershore is about a 2 mile walk away along the river and through some very pleasant countryside, and has all the usual amenities, including a large Asda supermarket. We shall be back but for longer, this is what it is all about.

Beautiful spot

Stayed here whilst the tail end of Storm Ellenor was a blowing, however we were tucked behind a large conifer hedge where we could shelter from the storm - the River Avon was just across the path with boats moored up in front of us - what a great spot - there are some super walks both to Wyre Piddle & Pershore where there is a high street of lovely shops . Will definitely come again, thank you Craig for a smashing welcome 👍

Just Perfect.

My wife and I stayed at Avonbank Meadow CL several times this year and we will be returning to this delightful site next year because: Avonbank Meadow is a first class CL. The owners, Craig and Sandra are the most friendly people you could ever wish to meet. They are both perfectionists and are constantly looking for ways to improve this CL. They moor their broad beam boat, Harry, on the river Avon, which runs next to the CL and Harry acts as the site office. Avonbank Meadow is ideal for retirees, singles, couples, families and is set on a beautiful, half acre, level, grassed site. It is also adjacent to the River Avon and is next to the rally field. Being near to the village of Wyre Piddle, it offers the discerning traveller, tranquillity with views of the river Avon. Many activities are available. We tried walking, cycling and fishing. We particularly liked a walk along the river to the historic market town of Pershore where shops, cafes and restaurants are staffed by friendly people. There is even a leisure centre with swimming pool. Wyre Piddle village has 2 local village pubs within 5 minutes walk, both offering good food, local ales and have riverside gardens. Local buses run regularly to Pershore, Evesham and Worcester, Monday to Saturday. Avon Bank is the perfect location for visiting: The Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon, the races at Cheltenham. We also liked visiting the many canals, marinas, stately homes, festivals and car rallies that are within easy commuting distance of this wonderful CL.

What a great find

This is a fantastic Cl, we only had two nights here but we will definitely return. Extremely well kept and a great location. Right beside the river, very helpful friendly owner. A couple of pubs in the village which is only a five minute walk away I really don't want to write this review for fear the news will spread just how lovely this site is! The 5mph speed limit is strictly enforced and quite rightly too in my opinion.

Amazing.

We've just come back from a week here, and can't fault it. It was the second week of our holiday so it was great to find a washing machine and tumble dryer (coin op) on site. Because no ground sheets are allowed the grass is like a well kept lawn. (In fact we christened Craig the lawn ranger!) We had electric bikes and found it a good site to get around from, without having to drive everyday, or just drive a short way with the bikes then cycle the tow paths. Good places to eat and shop locally too. And, although we didn't use them, the buses run from just up the the road. While we were there, there was a rally in the adjacent field but it's a big enough area that we had no problems with plenty of space for everyone. Loved it so much we booked for August bank holiday before leaving......sorry folks we got the last pitch!

Lovely clean, peaceful site

Lovely site. Stayed 2 nights here. Well kept flat and clean. Next to the River Avon with lots of moored boats. Short walk to Pershore along the river from the campsite. Was welcomed on arrival by the owner who is friendly and approachable. No shower block that we could see so you need to use your own facilities. Be aware that there is no signage for the caravan site in the village you have to go through to get to it. Follow the sat nav to the boat yard which is down a narrow country lane and on the left. Don't go passed the boat club, you have to go through it to get to the campsite. The owner has a sign but is getting permissions from the council to put it up. There isn't a sign at the boat club entrance either. Overall we would highly recommend the site. We didn't stay long enough to explore the area but the village is a short walk and has 2 pubs which both serve food. Would use again.
