Booked to come back and we haven't even left yet!

We booked a 7 night stay here first week of October 2019. Fairly easy to get to, the CL is accessed through a boat yard. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the friendly owner John, who showed us to our pitch. As mentioned in another review, the CL does not overlook the river - the pictures on the website showing this are of the rally field next door. A little disappointing but it is still a beautiful site. Our pitch was extremely spacious and fairly level - we did need a ramp but it didn't need much correcting at all. With great wifi, EHU, a freeview aerial point, water supply and also waste to every pitch (with each service point having it's own little light) the site is extremely good value for money. We put our awning up for the week and the only downside was that ground sheets are not permitted. When we arrived the grass was extremely muddy given the persistent rain beforehand, so the awning was largely unusable apart from extra storage. We would usually sit in the awning however chairs would have just sunk so this wasn't possible. One of the drawbacks of Autumn caravanning unfortunately! During our visit there were some necessary works being carried out which didn't really bother us however the owner, Lisa, came round to apologise to all the caravanners for the noise with a box of chocolate biscuits! A lovely touch from great hosts. The site itself is fabulously situated and just a 10 minute walk down a quiet lane to Wyre Piddle where there are 2 riverside pubs. We only visited The Anchor Inn (a dog friendly pub) which was lovely. Beautiful riverbank gardens to the rear which I imagine are packed in the Summer. Friendly staff even lent us an umbrella for a rainy walk home one evening. Pershore is a beautiful little town full of cafes, shops and pubs and is around a 20 minute walk from the site down a quiet lane and across a couple of fields alongside the river. The walk was extremely muddy at the time we visited so wellies are a must here! There is an Asda and Tesco Express in the town centre. The library (dog friendly!) supplied us with information on local walks. A visit to Worcester is thoroughly recommended if you get an opportunity... a beautiful city with a relaxed sleepy-town feel to it. We absolutely love Avon Bank Meadow, so much so we have just booked to come back next Easter for 8 nights and can't wait! Many thanks to Lisa and John for their hospitality!

CL of the year didn’t disappoint

Fantastic CL and fully recommend. Easy to get to and approach, lovely village access, great dog friendly local pub a short/stagger😂 walk & fabulous dog exercise field next door with river access, stunning location, peaceful and tranquil, friendly warm welcome, fully serviced, well groomed grass pitches. There are two fields, one large adjacent to the river which is reserved for rallies ( worth noting while we were onsite there was a large motor home rally on the rally field, great atmosphere! 😁) and the CL field, large by comparison to most is tucked away to the rear left hand corner offering privacy and tranquility with great spacing between vans. There is washing machine facilities at a great price and the WiFi is good should you need it. Once unhitched you are required to take your car to the gravel car park to the entrance of the field which is great, keeps the site looking pristine. We can’t wait to return.

4 night stay

Arrived for a four night stay mid September on our way home from Cornwall. The weather was lovely really hot however our fridge decided not to work! Lisa and John were great, they loaned us a little fridge we could plug in the caravan also John charged our battery but this didn’t seem to be the problem. The site is really nice there was rally field next door but no problem no noise. I did think that the site had a view of the river, maybe my mistake for not checking but the site is set back from the river and you are unable to see it which was a slight disappointment. But overall a very nice site.

4 night stay

We booked into Avonbank as it was the CL of the year 2018. Well 1 year later it is still very good. Under the new ownership the site is immaculate. John & Lisa are very welcoming, and having laundry facilities was a welcome boost & at a very reasonable cost. Will be visiting again next year

Idyllic Cl Site

This was our first visit to Avon Bank Meadow and had a great holiday. Lisa and John met us with a very warm welcome and gave us all the information we required and fully serviced pitch. We were booked for only 6 nights but very luck managed to stay for 10. As mentioned on previous reviews the site is immaculately kept and John keeps the grass very short and found not putting down a ground sheet was not a problem as there are no grass cuttings.........credit to you John as a caravan moved off site you were back on your mower making sure it was perfect for the the next caravaner arriving. We found the the site a great location to tour the area with so many great places to go within 30 minutes by car. Pershore is a lovely town with many independent shops and little market a few days a week. John and Lisa always had time to chat or wave on the passing without being intrusive and we wish them both all the best ......... definately on our list for a return next year. George & Pat

One of the best !

Just returned from a 4 night stay on this site. Wish it had been 14 ! John and Lisa are great ! They are never far away and happy to help ! The grass was like a bowling green. Fully serviced site. Needless to say ,in the words of Arnie " I'LL BE BACK "

Haven on the banks of the Avon.

We have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks here, this CL was so deserving of the CL of the year award. Although the rain was torrential when we arrived Craig got absolutely soaked welcoming and siting us, nothing seems too much trouble. The site is immaculate, the grass well kept and cuttings removed. As others have said, although there is a rally field adjacent, it does nothing to affect the tranquil nature of the setting. The site is central for visiting the Cotswolds, Mendip Hills, Stratford, Worcester and other areas, along with N.T. properties, our favourite being Croome which must be the most welcoming N.T. property for dog owners. Before leaving we booked our next stay here for later in the year and will definitely be back next year also.

Another great stay

We were lucky to get in for Easter. Been here three times now, and always good. A friendly welcome every time, and even with a rally in the other field a delightful stay. Well kept, as always, as we were leaving Craig, the lawn ranger, was riding again!

Good short stay

Had a very good two nights at this very good site right on the river not far from the village with its two pubs. Craig on site if you have any problems. We have started Geocaching and found some nice caches in the area so hope to comeback again soon.
