River, brook and a lake!

Avon Bank Meadow
Lisa had assured us that she would warn us before we left home about the river level, so off we went. In the meantime, it poured with rain - yet again! We were offered a nice hard standing adjacent to a lovely lake- aka the CL site! John donned wellies and plugged us in, and by morning the lake had practically gone. But we stayed on our safe hard standing. Lovely walk into village. Pub open under new ownership. Sadly, we never got to sample their menu as midway through our ten day stay, and after a torrential nights rain, Lisa gave us the option of staying put or moving onto another site near Pershore on higher ground. Bless her, it must be a nightmare turning happy campers away. I don’t think river burst its banks, but it looked very full and fast, and I’d never have slept a wink worrying about it, so we moved on. So an eventful 5 days with Lisa and John. We visited Witley Court and Gardens (EH) near Worcester, well worth a visit - and the sun came out. Pershore itself is well worth a visit as is the Almonry Museum in Evesham (closing for renovations sept/Oct 2024 onwards). And I must thank John for mending our badly leaking kitchen sink tap - what a star! There was enough water around without us adding to it.

lovely site

Avon Bank Meadow
We were met by Lisa`s son who showed us to our hardstanding. When Lisa arrived she gave us the information and said she had tried to phone to warn me of the river level which was quite high but assured me we would be ok. I was on edge all night, but need not have worried. I did think of moving from the site but Lisa again reassured we would be ok. She was correct the level started to lower and we had lovely break. The site is close to Pershore we public transport is good to get around the area we will return here again in the summer as it is so peaceful Alan& Rosemarie

A Super Site !

Avon Bank Meadow
We decided to take a chance on the clear blue sky weather and take a break for 3 nights! Not having been to the area before it looked interesting, with flat walking in either direction along the River Avon to either Pershore or Fladbury. As others have said the CL was brilliant and we were placed on a hard standing, as the grass area was still boggy. John had rigged up our own private water hose which along with the EHU and grey water drainage, was all we needed! John and Lisa gave us a welcome/information pack on Pershore Town and the surrounding area. We had a much needed relaxing break..... thank you John and Lisa. Please, please, please ignore the first impressions of the boat yard at the entrance of the drive to the CL.... it is just a means of access. Cath and Paul Dawson

Lovely stay

Avon Bank Meadow
Just back from a week at Avon bank. Well 6 days as it turned out, due to monsoon weather. There was the risk of flooding, so Lisa said that they were closing the site. Had a few inches of water around the caravan by the time I left with rapidly rising Brook and the river. Lisa was excellent and went the extra mile, even in as far as to check I was ok as not seen me one day, (had been walking with the dog when she checked) very helpful and no hesitation in recommending the site. May be could do with the camc sign at the boat yard entrance and not in the hedgerow the other side of the lane. Walking into Pershore across mown fields is a 15/20 minute level walk from site.

Awesome Avonbank

Avon Bank Meadow
Just back from an awesome 5 day break at Avonbank. 🌞 shining, peace and tranquillity by the riverside. We were sited on the hard standing next to the river attached to the rally field. There was a small rally on whilst we were there, which we weren't aware of until we got there but they were no bother. The CL could do with a sign on the approach at the entrance to the boatyard. We spent every day walking around the local area. We walked one way into Wyre Piddle where you can follow many footpaths along the river and walked the other way into Pershore along the river. Pershore is a lovely market town with a great selection of independent shops and small indoor market, we picked up some yummy local food. We did the Bridges walk around Pershore and also walked to Wick and did the History Trail - lots of old interesting buildings.
