So glad my mother lives close to this hidden gem

This has got to rate amongst one of the most forward thinking CL's. On their website the owners say that they took all of the best things from the caravan sites they have visited themselves, and incorporated them into their own site. A peaceful site with very generous, level pitches allowing for views over some beautiful countryside. Nearby, you can visit Culzean Castle, spend hours on the Burns trail, get to the beach within 10 minutes. TV, mobile phone and Mobile Broadband reception are all strong. The onsite toilet / shower is kept very clean and water and waste disposal are also good. The site has a small playpark, resident friendly sheep and owls. There is a picnic table and barbecue available for use. Our only criticism of our time here was the weather, but the countryside allowed for local weather forecasting skills to increase - if you could see the hills in the distance,, the rain was on the way, if you couldn't see them, it was raining, (apologies to Henry Longhurst for pinching his Turnberry quote). So at the end of 10 days here, happily say that I am glad my mum lives close to here otherwise I would never have found it! Look forward to booking return visits! Hugh Kerr

Lovely Site

We only stayed one night here on our way back home from 4 weeks touring Ireland and it was just what we needed. The site is easy access from the A77, it is quiet and the facilities are lovely and clean. We were made very welcome by the owners so this is a definite site to revisit.

Lovely well run site

Stayed here for 3 nts early April en route for the Highlands. Easy to find & met on arrival by very pleasant owner. We pitched on hardstanding. Very well maintained site, grass cut and shower & toilet very clean. Caught the train from Maybole to Glasgow & what a fab city. 2nd day visited Ayr.

A useful stopover

A nice clean well maintained level site, excellent toilet/shower waste disposal facilities. View to one side of the grey drab housing estate not so nice, view into field not so bad. Fresh eggs advertised as please ask so we did on our first day but never appeared. Owner came over to us as soon as we arrived asking for our money but then we never saw her again through our 5 night stay. A perfect site to stopover en route elsewhere.

Level site

We stayed for one night and was the only ones there. Lovely CL, very level and as we were in a motorhome that was a plus. The facilities were very clean and the whole site well maintained. Would recommend it but our sat nav took us through the residential estate so got lost when approaching, but that is no reflection on the site

Lovely site

Just home from staying 4 nights at this site. Lovely well kept, clean and tidy site. Shower/toilet block is a nice feature. Site was unsurprisingly full every night of our stay. When we arrived had few pitches to choose from. We chose next to the wall which was nice and sheltered, would look at this site if in the area again.

Quiet and relaxing

Spent one night here. What a great little site. Well laid out, very clean and good facilities for a CL Site. Really good toilet / shower room. A mixture of hard standing and grass pitches, both in very good condition, so no issues using either. Very easy to find, really just at the south end of Maybole, but even that short distance doesn't detract from the fact that you are in the countryside. Quiet roads and not a sound at night. There was a narrow country road a couple of hundred yards away that led to the path for Kildoon Hill. Other walks up that way as well, so a decent walk for our dogs. There was also a decent play area for kids. It even had its own grass grazing sheep. Very relaxing afternoon and night. Only had limited contact with the owners and that was to pay. I would say that the main reason for this was that they just let you relax and enjoy your time on site, but as they stay in the adjoining farmhouse, nearby, if needed. This worked for us. Would recommend.
