An excellent CL.

We spent two lovely weeks at this well laid out CL; it is a credit to the owner’s hard work.

The grass is cut regularly and the toilet/shower facilities are always kept very clean. The following facilities are provided; EHU, water taps, free showers, chemical toilet disposal point and even a drive over grey waste point for the motorhome owners, all this for £15. There are three hard standing pitches that are well spaced out and two very large grass pitches, each with views over the distant hills. The site is well located for visits to many seaside towns/villages my favourite was nearby Dunure, a small picturesque fishing village with castle ruins and fishermen’s cottages next to the small harbour. Some cottages have been converted into an Inn and a cafe, the latter allows well behaved dogs and the food is very good. No dog walks on site but plenty of nearby country lanes to explore. Access to the site is easy; just remember to follow the owner’s directions and not the sat-nav. This is one site we will return to in the future.

Fantastic site

A good value for money C L site. We stayed for few days, very friendly couple and very accommodating.  Toilet is kept clean all the time. (free shower) :) The scenery is very good, if you love peace and quite , away from the hustle and the bustle of city centre. we had fresh farm eggs . would recommend this site if you are going this way

A Very Enjoyable Stay

We have recently returned from our first visit to this site which consisted of a three night stay. There are three hard standing and two grass pitches on this CL. The pitches are all a very good size and are all nice and level. The view from the pitches is very good too with nice rolling hills and countryside to look at. The shower and toilet facilities were of a good standard and well looked after. There are even eggs for sale on the site. The site is very well located for a day trip to Stranraer and local trips to Ayr and Girvan.  The village of Maybole is very handy with a good selection of local shops such as Co-op, Sparr, local butcher and baker. There is a fish and chip shop along with an Indian takeaway and Chinese. There was also a nice Chinese Restaurant which we visited who were doing a very good 3-course menu for £9.50 each, well worth a visit. We really enjoyed our stay at this CL and just wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to return again in the very near future and hopefully for a little longer. We can see this becoming a personal favorite of ours in the future.

Unplanned.

Having travelled to the area doing some amateur radio stuff we decided that a campsite would be a good idea. Using the Caravan Club android app. and a quick 'phone call we chose this one. Sally was very accommodating and 45 minutes later we were there. With a warm welcome we were soon set up and enjoying the lovely evening. The site is very well kept and cared for with the toilet/shower room very clean and functional. A big thank you.

Small is better!

Well impressed with this CL. Run by caravaners, you can tell that they have planned it based on what they themselves would like to find when touring. 3 gravel (small stones easy to drive on) and 2 grass pitches overlooking very pleasing scenery, grass & hedges kept neat and tidy. All pitches are large with hook-up. A small cabin with shower, wc and sink (kept very clean) is off to one side, behind this the water tap, grey waste and CDP points, again all clean and very easy to use (and hidden mostly from pitches). A drive over waste water emptying point for motorhomes is to the side, and waste bins a bench seat and even a barbeque as well! Hens and duck eggs available, and a play area (with pet sheep) is also there for those who may want to use it. On our cycle, we passed by the 'main' C.C. (AS) site and I'm afraid it looked much too crowded for us...we know where we would rather be. 10 out of 10 marks for the owners of this CL, we will return for sure.

Country site with far reaching views

The site was easy to find with level well signposted access. Views across farmland to the hills of the Galloway Forest were lovely. The single combined shower and toilet facility was kept spotlessly clean and with a very good shower. We initially booked 2 nights but extended for a further 4 nights as we found the location excellent.
